House holiday rentals in Kalyves

We absolutely loved our stay at this gorgeous villa. From the moment we met Stefanos and his parents at their nearby taverna to say hello and get the keys, we knew it would be a great vacation. We were welcomed with cold drinks and plates of delicious food. Stefanos personally took us to the villa, showed us around and answered all our questions. There was a beautiful food basket (vegetables, fruit, olive oil, and other Crete delights) waiting for us as a further welcome. The villa itself is even more gorgeous than in the photos. It is beautifully appointed and each of the 4 bedrooms has its own bath so it was perfect for the couples staying there. The view is stunning - looking out over olive groves and farm land with the sea in the distance. We found fantastic beaches nearby, groceries and great tavernas in local villages. We also enjoyed some swims in the pool at the villa. All in all, a wonderful stay and a huge thanks to Stefanos and his family for so warmly welcoming us!

1er séjour en Crète, le choix a été de se positionner à l’ouest pour visiter en 1 semaine que l’ouest. Kalives est donc bien localisé (25 mn de l’aéroport). La maison est aussi bien située : à la fois au calme et proche de nombreux restaurants sur la plage et à proximité à pied d’un supermarché. La maison est très spacieuse avec ses 3 belles chambres avec chacune sa salle de bain (4 toilettes) . Elle est également jolie, très propre et très bien équipée. À notre arrivée à 20h30 c’est très appréciable d’avoir le nécessaire dans le frigo pour 24h et les produits ménagers. Nous y étions mi-avril (we pascal) avec deux ados (de 14 et 17 ans) qui ont également très appréciés l’endroit. Le seul petit regret c’est de ne pas avoir pu profiter de la piscine car les températures étaient trop fraîches (Baignade en mer plus facile). Nous avons pu quand même manger dehors, sauf 2-3 soirs. Anthonis (propriétaire) est très prévoyant et à l’écoute de ses hôtes. Bonne surprise : le ménage mi-parcours.

The location of villa Adriana is perfect for people who love the quiet country side. No neighbours, but some goats , sheep and a cat who can see you walking in pyjamas in the garden in the morning. Very comfy and really huge beds! The kitchen has all the utensils you need to cook. There could be more light above the (electric) stove. The one from the extractor hood didn’t work. Compared with the beautiful bathroom and bedroom downstairs the kitchen is rather outdated. It was fine to cook nevertheless , especially with the delicious olive oil Alexandros gave us! Unfortunately it was not warm enough -end April, start of May- to swim in the pool, but the view of the pool with the garden full of flowers and olive trees and, on the background, the mountains still covered with a bit of snow was stunning anyway! I loved the road to the house: first drive through the village with narrow streets and then through the olive yards. Last but not least: the host Alexandros is very kind as well!

Ein Ort zum Verlieben! Die Villa von ThinkVilla in Rethymno hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen: stilvolles Design, absolute Sauberkeit und dieser traumhafte Blick – einfach wow! Der Pool, die Ruhe, das Licht – wir haben jeden Moment genossen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den herzlichen und aufmerksamen Service. Man spürt, dass hier mit Leidenschaft gearbeitet wird. Wir sind dankbar für diese Auszeit und kommen mit einem Lächeln im Herzen zurück.

Ons verblijf was werkelijk fantastisch. de woning en vooral de tuin was nog mooier als op de foto's. Alles was ontzettend netjes en de woning is van alle gemakken voorzien. We kregen goede tips van onze host voor restaurants in de buurt en de locatie van de woning was voor ons echt een pluspunt. Er zijn genoeg leuke restaurants in de buurt en supermarkten en je kunt makkelijk naar locaties zoals Bálos, Kournas lake, Chania of de botanische tuinen. Maar als je dan terugkomt bij de villa heb je een oase aan rust. Ik ben al op meerdere plekken geweest in Kreta, maar qua ligging is dit absoluut mijn favoriet! Wij zullen zeker weer terug komen!

I truly recommend staying with Niko in this beautiful villa! The house is very modern, the outside area spectacular and private and the communication with Niko was clear and helpful. The accommodation works for both families and friends. The house is located around 30mins from Chania which is easy to get to by car. Can only recommend renting this villa.

Alloggio stupendo, esattamente come in foto. Si trova a circa 6/7 minuti di auto dal centro di Gavalohori. Per raggiungerlo occorre percorrere una stradina piuttosto sterrata: ma la vista, una volta arrivati in cima, ripaga. La posizione è davvero tranquilla, l’unico rumore che si sente è quello delle pecore al pascolo (comunque molto piacevole!) La piscina è del tipo Infinity pool, affacciandosi sul mare, che si vede in lontananza. Meraviglioso. Nel complesso super consigliato, occorre solo seguire bene le indicazioni per raggiungerlo (utilizzate la georeferenziazione indicata!).

Villa anasa exceeded expectations. The pictures don't do it justice, the attention to detail in the interior is impressive. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend. Gorgios was a gracious host and helpful in every way possible.

Wir hatten wunderschöne Tage bei Kiriaki und Michalis. So nett und überaus freundlich sind wir noch nie empfangen und verabschiedet worden, außergewöhnlich und herzerwärmend. Michalis hat uns selbstgefangene Oktopus frittiert: super lecker 😋, danke. Kyriaki und Michalis waren sehr hilfsbereit und hatten jede Menge Tipps auf Lager für schöne Badestrände oder andere schöne Dinge, die man in der Gegend unternehmen kann. Haus und Hof waren sehr sauber und 1A vorbereitet. Im Innenhof vor dem Haus findet man Ruhe auf zwei Sonnenliegen. Toll waren auch die Zwischenreinigungen mit Handtuchwechsel. Danke auch dafür und die kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten zwischendurch. Im Dorf selbst kann man abends in 3 Restaurants die kretische Küche kennenlernen. Auch Lebenmittel sind vor Ort erhältlich. Auf dem Dorfplatz findet man immer einen Parkplatz. Und zum Strand in Almeryda rollert man 4 km den Berg herab, Sonne und Badevergnügen sind gesichert. Wir fliegen sehr gut erholt nach Hause!!

Een prachtige accommodatie in een mooie omgeving waar je heerlijk tot rust kunt komen. Het huis kwam echt overeen met de beschrijving en de foto’s. Dit is niet altijd het geval. Je zit ongeveer 10 autominuten van Paleochora.

Eleftherios ist ein sehr sympathischer, hilfsbereiter und toller Gastgeber! Das kleine Haus ist meist gut beschattet inmitten eines Olivenhaines gelegen. Man kann von der Terasse aus Maulbeeren pflücken, etwas weiter gibt es frische Orangen und Zitronen. Die Unterkunft ist nicht nur schön, sondern darüber hinaus auch sehr wohlüberlegt eingerichtet. Neben der guten Isolierung, bei der auch ein kurzer Einsatz der Klimaanlage entsprechend kühlt, dem Fliegengitter vor dem großen Schlafzimmerfenster, der Bluetooth box, der großen Terasse mit schönem Ausblick auf den Olivenhain, sind es die kleinen, wohlüberlegten Dinge, die einfach Freude bereiten. Angefangen von scharfen, kleinen Messern, über Mückenschutz, Kaffee, Waschmittel, gutes Duschgel, Orangenpresse, guten Kochuntensilien... Wir kommen wieder, keine Frage!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in dem kleinen süßen Haus! Es war alles perfekt und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten das Glück Michaelis kennenzulernen und er ist so nett und gastfreundlich. Vielen lieben Dank Michaelis, wir kommen sehr gern wieder.♥️

The house was lovely and very convenient to get to from the airport. The surroundings were idyllic and we had a very peaceful stay here. Kostula was a brilliant host, always very responsive when we had any questions. We were supplied with basic amenities for cooking which is always a bonus as we didn't need to go straight to the shops for oil, salt, coffee, etc. There was also a homemade cake waiting for us on arrival and we were given some fresh eggs from their hens when we met Kostula and her husband! All in all it was a brilliant stay with wonderful hosts and we would love to visit again!

Wir haben 10 Tage in der Unterkunft mit unserem 2 1/2 Jahre alten Sohn verbracht. Das Haus is toll ausgestattet, und bietet wirklich alles um eine schöne Zeit in der Gegend zu verbringen. Das Dorf ist abgeschieden vom Trubel, bietet aber trotzdem 2 sympathische Tavernen und Cafés; und in ein paar Fahrminuten ist man am Strand oder in einer der zahlreichen Tavernen in einem Nachbardorf. Nektaria war ein super Gastgeber, immer zu erreichen. Sehr gerne wieder !

Super séjour à Marathi ! Logement très bien placé, bien équipé et propre. Literie de qualité. Des hôtes très prévenants et d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle. Je recommande +++

A tranquil and shady haven just a short walk from restaurants and shops in Gavalohori.

We had a fantastic stay in Panorama II. The location in the hills just behind Almyrida Bay was perfect and gave us stunning views over the sea and mountains. The beach and restaurants were just a short walk away using the steps leading down to the small port. The house itself was very nice and comfortable and we particularly loved the ample balcony space, always giving a choice between sun and shade and a choice of views. Michalis and Leonidas were fantastic hosts, meeting us at the apartment after a very late arrival and being incredibly responsive throughout our trip for any small questions or issues. Overall we would highly recommend both the apartments and hosts. Many thanks to you both!

Sotiri’s is for anyone who desires an authentic Crete experience away from the commercial tourism. The place was clean, charming, and authentic with the extra treasure of Katarina’s eggs, baked goods, and vegetables. We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely hostess, in Katarina. She invited us down for coffee and her hospitality is beyond compare. With the help of Google translate, we were able to get to know each other and even met her family. We enjoyed the small village feel and the local people we met at the taverna and restaurant we frequented. Bought cat food at the little market to feed all the local cats that are regular fixtures of the island. It was such a delightful experience, we will treasure always.

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit in diesem Haus! Es ist genauso wie auf den Bildern – sehr sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und in einer tollen Lage. Die Kingsize Betten sind sehr bequem. Der Kontakt mit den Gastgebern war von Anfang an freundlich, respektvoll und absolut reibungslos. Schon zur Begrüßung stand ein kleines, herzliches Willkommensgeschenk in der Küche bereit: Honig, Olivenöl, Kekse und Raki – eine sehr schöne Geste! Der Blick auf das Meer ist wunderschön. Anzumerken ist, dass das Haus sehr hellhörig ist. Es liegt an einer kleinen Anwohnerstraße, aber dennoch fahren dort Autos lang und man hört es vor allem morgens extrem im Bett. Im Verlauf unseres Aufenthalts wurden wir sogar mit frischen Eiern und Orangen aus eigener Produktion überrascht. Zum Abschied gab es dann nochmals Honig und eine Flasche Raki – einfach großartig! Die Gastgeber waren jederzeit erreichbar, hilfsbereit und ausgesprochen gastfreundlich. Vielen Dank für alles!

Absolutely beautiful place, we loved it! The outdoor areas and views are amazing! Lefteris was extremely kind and helpful, shared a lot of great recommendations with us! We’d come back in a heartbeat

Die Unterkunft ist sehr geräumig, urig eingerichtet und bietet 3 gemütliche Schlafzimmer. Es gibt einen großen ruhigen Innenhof mit Sitzgelegen und man kann gut draußen Essen. Außerdem gibt es die Möglichkeit Wäsche zu waschen und aufzuhängen. Wir haben uns riesig über einen bereitgestellten Korb voll Orangen, Osterbrot, Kekse, Wasser und anderes gefreut! 😊 Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem kleinen Bergdorf und ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen (wie Wanderungen) in der Gegend. Die Küstenstädte Chania sowie Rhetymno sind in ca. 40 Minuten erreichbar. Auch schöne Strände sind nicht weit (mit dem Auto!). Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt: WLAN und Internet generell war eher schwierig.

Electra was just amazing. We met her close to the apartment and she brought us there to do the check-in in with us. She is super friendly and shared some recommendations with us. The place is as described, it has everything needed for a few days. The garden and the spot under the olive tree are beautiful to have breakfast or read. Note: you will need a car to get there, but it is just a short drive to some restaurants and supermarkets. It was a really great stay and a good location to explore the west of Crete and its beaches.

The villa is lovely and has everything you need for a holiday. Clean and well maintained. There was extra cleaning during the week. Great view of the sea and the mountains. The cars passing on the main road, which is 100m below the villa, create a slight noise, but it is not unbearable. Maria is a great host and despite the late evening time of arrival she was waiting for us with a smile. She took care of us all the time and gave us valuable advice. There was a problem with the dishwasher, which was fixed the next day as soon as I informed Maria. We had a great week and would come back again.

The house has one of the best views of Crete in its price range. It was clean, cozy and many amenities were present; plenty of cutlery, seasonings, ice cubes etc. The communication is perfect, Maria answers within 5 minutes. The only negative point of critique I am able to give is that the bed is a little bit hard. This is the best airbnb I ever stayed in. Thank you Maria for the amazing place to stay!
