We had a wonderful stay at Villa Despina! The location is fantastically quiet, perfect for relaxing, and at the same time a good base for exploring the south of Crete. The villa itself is very clean, lovingly furnished and well equipped – from the kitchen to the beautiful outdoor area with pool, everything was well maintained. We particularly liked the warm hospitality and the little touches when we arrived. We felt right at home! A real highlight: the fantastic view of the surrounding nature and the sunsets in the evening. We will be happy to come back and can recommend Villa Despina to anyone looking for peace, comfort and Cretan warmth. Thank you for everything!

We felt very comfortable right from the start and were completely satisfied with the accommodation. In addition to the wonderful terrace with a fantastic view, the accommodation has a very good location. You can reach restaurants, supermarkets and the beach within a few minutes. We are always happy to come back. :)

Breathtaking views! Do you want a clean and beautiful accommodation? Then you've come to the right place! 🤩 The accommodation is modern, clean and well equipped. The outdoor area is simply perfect, great seating, mega pool also for kids and with the spa whirlpool simply a paradise! Not to forget this beautiful view of the sunset 🤩 Not only is the accommodation perfect, but the hosts, Maria and Savas, are great hosts! Friendly and courteous, and always available! They brought toys for my son and despite the fierce challenge with the Sahara dust, they did everything to ensure that we can enjoy our vacation 100% 😊 We are already looking forward to our next visit to Crete and to Maria. A little piace of heaven! This is not just an incredibly beautiful villa with a gorgeous garden and pool. There comes so much more with this stunning location, from the peaceful surroundings to Irina's attention to detail and kindness. If you are looking for a place to relax, recharge and enjoy Crete far from tourist spots in complete privacy this is your place.

The villa is lovely and has everything you need for a holiday. Clean and well maintained. There was extra cleaning during the week. Great view of the sea and the mountains. The cars passing on the main road, which is 100m below the villa, create a slight noise, but it is not unbearable. Maria is a great host and despite the late evening time of arrival she was waiting for us with a smile. She took care of us all the time and gave us valuable advice. There was a problem with the dishwasher, which was fixed the next day as soon as I informed Maria. We had a great week and would come back again.

We had an amazing quiet time, the villa matches the photos. Note that the occupants of the villa above can see you, which has bothered us a lot, and that if there are children in the house next door it takes a little off the side alone in the world with the noise. If not, it's great.

The house itself is modern, stylish and equipped with everything you could wish for. The spacious pool and the breathtaking view of the Cretan landscape all the way to the sea inspired us every day. But what really makes this place special is the host. From the first moment, he was incredibly warm, helpful and attentive - after a very short time, it felt as if we had found a friend on site. Whether tips for excursions, restaurant recommendations or just a nice conversation - he was always there for us and made our stay something very special. DejaView is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy and feel good. We will definitely be back.

We felt very comfortable. The property is in a great location. Restaurants and the beach are within walking distance. You can park for free in front of the apartment. We were always able to reach the host and he gave us good tips. We would always come back there.

No complaints! Location in the heart of Matala but very quiet in the morning! Unusual place at the foot of the chapel! Small terrace to enjoy breakfast or a quiet evening to the sound of concerts from the bar restaurant nearby. The sea is a stone's throw away! The host is always present when needed to make our stay perfect. Small gifts await us on our arrival, very nice... we will come back with great pleasure 🏵️

May 2025, 10 nights stay for three (2 adults, 1 toddler). Villa is really fantastic. Beautiful view of the sea and the bay. It offers plenty of space for more people (2 couples, 4-6 friends, 2 families) and for longer stays (storage space, cupboards and shelves, etc.). The furnishings correspond to the description and offer, even in the kitchen, everything you need. Our highlight was the covered terrace. Our flight was moved up at short notice. A significantly earlier check-in was no problem at all in our case. Stelios is a very friendly, helpful and dedicated host. We recommend him and his villa without reservation. Small restriction: the accommodation is a bit off the beaten track or the region is a bit scattered (mainly due to the geography of the terrain). Without your own car, it will be a bit difficult in our opinion. However, there is a free parking space directly at the house.

We had a great time relaxing at the house and exploring the surrounding villages and beaches. The host is very communicative and proactive in recommendations and making your stay as comfortable as possible! Thank you :)

Loved the location, the home and Matala overall. Very special place. There is a good hike to get to the house. So I f you are not in the fittest you may not enjoy the leg workout. Can’t wait to go back.

The apartment is faithful to the description, a functional and welcoming house, furnished with excellent taste. Separate kitchen, possibility of cooking outdoors and outdoor space that further enhances the holiday. The real added value. The host is always available to respond to our requests for information. For the second time, we have enjoyed this beautiful house. It was a feeling of coming home. Even when we were in need of health care, we were well taken care of and received great help. We highly recommend this house, it is really great and we slept so well, as we haven't in a long time. We will definitely be happy to come back...

Amazing place to stay for some relaxation. The room is very clean and has a beautiful view on the sea, and the shower was super nice and warm. The hostess Maria was very nice and was always ready to help us. There’s a small restaurant nearby called Maria (a different Maria), and she makes the best food and is incredibly nice. Our stay here was amazing!

We loved our week in Eleftheria and Manolis’s hillside home. Our every need was catered for: we were given a warm welcome with delicious evening meal and other goodies; Eleftheria was full of helpful recommendations of places to eat; the bed was comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped; and the beautiful terrace and refreshing little pool - from which we could look down onto the Libyan Sea - beckoned each time we returned from our adventures around the coast and mountains. Terracotta pots brimming with geraniums and basil, and olive trees around our borders, made it a very special place to relax, though the setting is what made it stand out: we had complete privacy and utter peace (we heard only goats, sheep and the occasional distant dog). The house is truly something special. The interior and design of the house is super tasteful and combines traditional Crete with modern elements. Everything in the house was spotless and brand-new. The view from the terrace was breathtaking and the courtyard was very cosy. We can only recommend this gem of house at Crete. The location is a little remote but perfect to relax and enjoy Crete off the beaten paths. We hope we will come back. Also the village where the house is located is so picturesque. Amazing local tavern with great authentic food are in walking distance.

She was the best host that anyone could ever ask for. She went out of her way to give us dinner when we had just arrived (at 11pm) cake and gelatin that she had made from scratch and even gave us amazing places to check out all over Crete. Bless your soul Mandy. I will ALWAYS come back should the opportunity arises. Upon arrival the place was clean and ready on arrival. It was supplied with trash bags, a TV, kitchen supplies, even with some food in the fridge (which we greatly appreciated) great WIFI, and even bathroom and shower toiletries.

The best, most luxe Airbnb experience! 🥹 From the epic views and immaculate landscaping (with butterflies everywhere!) to the private pool + tennis court to the incredible suite with comfortable bed, spacious / modern living + kitchen spaces and endless amenities. This place has it all and is in absolute paradise. We were at peace the whole time. We loved the outdoor shower, free laundry, local village bakeries / cafes & restaurants, total privacy, local provided olive oil (made by the host!), and friendly hosts. This place was unbelievable! Absolutely beautiful area and location. We wish we had stayed longer. This was our first time in Crete and happened to pick the very best place! There were 9 of us, and we fit very well. Tina was great. Penelope was lovely, but did not speak English (she lives on the first floor). We would highly recommend this area and this house! Next time we will stay longer!
