Tranquil Mountain Getaway | Breathtaking Scenery

BenjaminRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Anju and her team are perfect hosts. We found a place with local charm, ample space, great equipped and spotlessly clean. The shower / washing area is all new. Our toddler was very happy with the great amount of space to play. Sleeping/ living was comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed her international breakfast options at her cafe nearby. Super market and 7/11 are in walking distance. Train station is nearby and also the buses to access the Nakasendo hiking paths. We did the hike from Magome to Magone pass. We did some evening trips by train to nearby villages e.g. Agamatsu where we enjoyed utterly tasty eel from the aquarium at Sakae family / 栄家. Nagiso is an excellent place for activities in the valley and Anju is the perfect host. We would definitely come again.

Beautiful, clean, and peaceful stay in Takayama. The home is stylish and quiet, yet close to everything—we loved walking to nearby restaurants and cafés. The hot tub and sauna were a perfect way to unwind. Highly recommend!

Renovated Japanese historic house for more than 80 years/Free parking/2 toilets/Relaxing house

JuhyukRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
It was a really satisfying accommodation to stay in Takayama. The accommodation was spacious and pleasant, so everyone in the group was able to stay comfortably. I was able to relax in a leisurely atmosphere. The neighborhood was quiet and secluded, so I was able to enjoy the relaxation without the noise of the city. When you open the window in the morning, the fresh air and the quiet scenery of Takayama unfold, It was a place that made me feel like I was welcome. The owner was also very kind. He guided us meticulously from check-in to checkout, and he also recommended nearby restaurants and attractions, which was a great help in planning our trip. Everyone in the group said, "I want to come again next time," and I think I'll visit again someday. If you are planning a trip to Takayama, I highly recommend it!

The house as well as the experience was amazing, it is much more beautiful than the photos. It’s one of the most beautiful renovated Japanese homes I’ve been in. The hosts are really friendly and helpful to give us recommendations which made our trip so enjoyable. If I travel to Gifu again I’d definitely stay again!

Tanekura Inn. 1 group relaxing stay with breakfast

MashaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our stay was absolutely perfect! We spent a wonderful time in a large, beautiful house located in a small, incredibly charming village. Everything was ideal — the house, the surroundings, and the atmosphere. We asked for a tour around the village, and it turned out to be a magical experience. We gathered herbs, learned about local plants, and even had the chance to make soba noodles together. It was truly an unforgettable experience — peaceful, authentic, and full of heart. We’re deeply grateful and would love to come back again one day.
