Beachfront holiday rentals in Inverness County

A nice, peaceful spot with a comfortable bed, great living space, and a good-sized kitchen with everything we needed.

Wonderful place to stay. We met some less than ideal weather for adventuring with our 2 year old and couldn’t have picked a better spot to lay low for a couple nights. The space is beautiful and yet the setting steals the show. The team is working very hard to ensure the experience of staying at Ridge on the Chimney is a once in a lifetime.

Big Harbour Hideaway is situated on an inlet of the Bras D’Or Lake with little boating activity so it was quiet. The dock is very solid and does not move with the tide, there were four Adirondack chairs on the dock with a few more available near by. Across the inlet is a really nice view of gypsum cliffs. There were bald eagles and even a seal! The house felt comfy and was well stocked with toilet paper, paper towelling, tissue, garbage bags, pots and pans, cutlery, etc. The beds were quite comfortable and although there is no air conditioning the breeze off the water was all we needed to cool the bedrooms at night. Although the house is on a well there was plenty hot water and the water pressure was really good. It felt homelike and it doesn’t get better than that! There is no cable tv, but I believe you can hook up a device to it to watch movies or play games. There is a pretty serious Scrabble game on the coffee table. Baddeck is only 12-14 minutes away by car.

A terrific property thoughtfully equipped for beach stays and related local excursions. Really had everything in the property you'd need. Location-wise, it's on the 'main drag' but at least in early June that didn't mean much traffic. It's literally a few steps to a lovely sandy beach (granted there is a steep but short slope in between :)) - a few more steps, or very short drive, to the post office, grocery store, a bar/restaurant, and a seasonal ice cream stand. About 8 miles to Mabou (try the Red Shoe Pub for excellent onion rings and local music), a bit more to Inverness (we enjoyed the deck of Whit's Public House, very dog friendly, and hope to try the Rt 19 brewery next time.)

We had a wonderful stay at Kris's place. The home is immaculate, well-appointed, and cozy. The lake itself is beautiful: we swam every day. We also visited close-by ocean beaches and waterfalls. It was the perfect combination of relaxing and exciting.

We had a wonderful time in Cheticamp. John was helpful for suggestions about hiking and restaurants. I would highly recommend his beautiful place.

It's a beautiful place at lakeside. So many trails and waterfalls around. We loved it and kids enjoyed a lot there. Ann is very respectful and proactive. Whenever I texted her, could get reply in minutes. Amazing experience overall.

This is an absolute gem. We watched the sun set over the water every night. Our toddler was safe and entertained in the big yard and beach. We want to return next year!

We loved the cottage, the view and we really enjoyed the hot tub too ! There was a problem with the airbnb reservation which we confirmed but John didn’t have it, and the cottage was shown as available on our dates 2 days before our check in. it was a bit stressful (@airbnb these things should not happen) considering we had paid the full non refundable charge but John sorted it out quickly enough ! We definitely recommend staying there !

Cody’s Airbnb is a great accommodation for larger families. Everything we needed and more was available within the house. Walking distance and wheelchair accessible to sandy beach. Location is spectacular, bring your binoculars for a closer view of Port Hood Island and finish the night with a bonfire or star gazing from the balcony.

Great stay! Michael was there to personally great us and walk us through the property. House is spacious and clean. Nice views from the front two bedrooms.. Kitchen was well stocked for those who prefer to cook. Good selection of spices. While there are resurants 10-20 minutes away, they all pretty much have the same style of food. So, having the kitchen was great. Didn't get the opportunity to enjoy the property and the lake as we only had a couple days. But if you have time, the lake is beautiful. Our trip was 10 nights throughout NS and PEI. So Bonus having a full size washer/dryer. Nice to travel with not have luggage with a week of dirty clothes. Will stay here again, but longer.

This is probably the one home that we can truly call home away from home. "Shandy" is the place to choose if you are looking for a cozy, clean and one of a kind Airbnb experience. And did I say if you want a host that will be proactive and responsive all the way -- prior to your arrival ans until after you check out, Sharon is your person. She personally reached out to us to ask about specific things that family may require when staying away from home. Her prompt communication is beyond comprehension and her level of hospitality completely blew us away. Our teenagers loved the space and they couldn't hide their excitement and gratitude as they left a note for Mr. Sandy and Ms. Sharon. We look forward to returning to "Shandy", until then, please make sure you check it out. You won't regret.

Everything at the cottage was fantastic; we felt right at home. There were eight of us, and the house had enough space for us all and enough bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked and had all the appliances that you need. It was a great stay, and I recommend it to anyone

We had a fantastic time at the Doyle Beach House! Staying there was the perfect way for us to end our Nova Scotia trip as it offered a a great place to relax and as a base for us to explore Cape Breton Island and the Cabot Trail. The beach is at the bottom of the garden and was perfect for our children with calm shallows and soft sand but also with areas of stones for exploring. The location of the property is perfect for access to the beach at anytime of the day for walks and play and is also a short drive away from restaurants and grocery stores. The sunsets are amazing either from the deck or even from inside and watching over the water was a nightly routine. We couldn’t recommend this property and the hosts more and would love to return in the future.

We had a great stay. Very comfortable and clean. Felt right at home. Did not want to leave. Would highly recommend Gloria’s place.

This beautiful home made our Father’s Day weekend fishing trip one of the best we have had to date. Our typical place was book so we decided to try a new spot, so glad we did, this will be forever our go to spot when staying in the area!

Capers Landing was a wonderful gem we discovered during our visit to Nova Scotia. Nikki has put a great deal of thought and planning into making the home comfortable and delightfully decorated. Her attention to detail really shows. A high priority for us is how kitchens are equipped. This kitchen was both well equipped, modern and had stunning views of the waterfront. The Internet was very fast. The beds were really comfortable and the bathrooms had a luxury appointments. Our only wish is we had planned a longer stay. It is clear why this home gets so booked up. Chris's home is truly a slice of heaven! we spent a week in this beautiful chalet on a private beach. We use Airbnb a lot and this house and location was one of our favorite. SO peaceful and relaxing,SO comfortable and beautiful, really felt like home away from home for our large family. Right off the Cabot trail, we were able to take day trips around Cape Breton Island and enjoy everything the area had to offer. Chris was super helpful and communication was quick and easy. HIGHLY recommend this Airbnb!

This Airbnb was everything it said it was in the description and more. A great layout, well equipped with everything you need, easy access and a stunning view in a lovely town. Highly recommend!

My husband, our Bernese Mt. dog and myself stayed at this exceptional property. We travel frequently and this is without question our favorite Airbnb to date. We were welcomed with a sweet treat and wine. There were bowls & a comfy bed for our pup. I loved that the hosts send daily texts with itinerary suggestions. The ocean views are stunning. The beach is private and serene. The restaurant suggestions in the guidebook are wonderful. The Woodroad experience was fantastic. The property is about 30-35 minutes to enter the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The Skyline Trail is located about 15 minutes from the park entrance and a great day trip from the Airbnb. We also had easy access to the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail in Inverness for biking/hiking. Finally, we had the pleasure of meeting Scott who took the time to point out Pilot Whales in the cove which could be seen from the deck/hot tub. Every detail of this property is meticulously addressed. We can’t wait to stay again.
