There is a separate indoor bath from the Hinoki bath, but the view of Setouchi and the starry sky from the Goemon bath, heated with firewood, is the best. If you're lucky, you'll see artificial satellites and meteors. The water heated by firewood never gets cold. It warms you from the core of your body. The bedding is specially ordered from a long-established bedding manufacturer in Kyoto, and the bath invites you to relax your body and mind and sleep soundly. Most guests say they sleep well. During the day, you might want to spend some time in the lounge filled with houseplants. Enjoy the sunlight shining through the trees from the skylight. Here, the right answer is to do nothing and just be. How about emptying your mind? If you request at least a week before your stay, we can prepare local food from Oshima Island and seasonal food that we can get through a special route. If you wish, you can also dine at a counter made of pure cedar, similar to a traditional Japanese restaurant.

Staying with Ms. Kaori is a wonderful experience. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. The hostess is an amiable, gentle, courteous and caring person. I am very grateful to you for such a nice reception during my year-long trip to Japan. After 2 months in Tokyo, the beginning of the adventure in Shikoku turned out to be exciting and relaxing at the same time. I hope I can come back here. Our stay was amazing, left us wishing we had stayed more than just one night. You could tell it was a newly built house from how well equipped it was! The living room + kitchen space were very comfortable hangout spots. The rooms had everything we needed, including AC and the bathroom was spacious with both a shower and a deep bathtub, right next to a very clean and we'll illuminated sink + mirror to get ready afterwards. Above all that, the host went above and beyond! From leaving some local oranges on the table for us to enjoy, to a staff member riding their bike to the train station to give a towel to my friend who had forgotten it at the house after we left, before we could even suggest going back to collect it. Truly kind and generous people, can't recommend this place enough if you're around Imabari and need a place to stay with a few people.

We stayed at Rokus place for a few nights on route to Kagawa. It was a fantastic property for us to unwind as a family of 2 adults and three kids. The location was strategic as a launch pad to several hiking destinations, road trips, and rafting adventures. Would highly recommend this place. Our 6 year old loved exploring the garden with Rokus friendly son.

Auberge Yugashira is on the edge of the forested mountain side overlooking the sea, Munakata village and citrus trees. A charming and comfortable old style house with tatami mats, futons and big puffy duvets. Your super friendly and informative hosts live next door and serve you the most delicious breakfasts - home baked sourdough and brioche, homemade jams, honey from their hives and granola - on their veranda. Very welcoming place to stay and great base for cycling and hiking on Omishima and other islands. Local onsen and Oyamadumi shrine a 30 min bike ride away, and the wonderful Bubuka restaurant reached in under an hour on foot.

Very nice traditional house with superb hosts. Like staying in a ryokan but without all the fuss and much better priced🤗. We had the place for ourselves, that was perfect. Sharing with other guests may lack some privacy. The hosts are super nice and make you feel welcome. Unfortunately there are no seats or table to relax in the wonderful garden. If you are in this region you should stay at this place.
