It was a very pleasant stay when I had a lot of conversations with the host at check-in and checkout. In particular, in the morning, my 3-year-old son held a magnifying glass and accompanied me to explore the flowers in the garden, and told me about the goodness of this area. I stayed with 1 year old and 3 years old, but there were toys and jungle gyms, and it was comfortable for children. I had an extraordinary experience in the wilderness, and I wanted to visit again! Thank you very much.

Experience Authentic Japan

ThéotimeRating, 5 stars2 days ago
Had a wonderful stay! Nakamura-san is very welcoming, warm, and speaks English very well, which makes exchanges easy and enjoyable. The accommodation was exactly what I was looking for: quiet, comfortable and very well equipped. As it is a little far from the shops, I recommend buying your food in advance: the kitchen on site makes it easy to prepare everything. The activities offered in the surrounding area are really nice, with beautiful hiking trails in the middle of nature. I chose to come to the countryside to disconnect from the city and rest, and this place was perfect for that. I was looking for a place that would remind me of the atmosphere of the movie My Neighbor Totoro by Studio Ghibli… and I was really not disappointed: the accommodation and its environment perfectly match this sweet, poetic and peaceful atmosphere. I loved my stay and would recommend it without hesitation!

Well renovated and very well-equipped traditional house. The environment is quiet while having an entrance near the highway. Despite the language barrier, we communicated well with the owner who was friendly. We highly recommend this home for those who want to have an experience in a Japanese home.

The Airbnb is located in a peaceful town with absolutely stunning views of the hills, sea and rivers, and is a great getaway from the busy city life. The host was very responsive and welcoming, where she shared some snacks with us on our first day of arrival.

I stayed at Yota’s house for one night and I had such an incredible experience. The space has this old charm that makes you feel cozy, you can tell Yota has an artistic eye with his collection of different objects around the house. I thought this was a unique experience following the artistic theme of Naoshima, from getting on the jetty and the very unique meals Yota prepares for you. What really stood out, though, was how much Yota went above and beyond — He even made a reservation for me to get a bike the next morning along with a coffee shop recommendation. I can’t recommend this experience enough for a unique experience in Naoshima.

Edwinta Kel and Ginga are very warm, friendly and nice. They taught me a lot about the charm of Takayama City and Okayama Prefecture! The cafe's Costa Rican coffee is also very delicious, and the shrines and temples are very close by, so it is highly recommended for those who want to spend a particularly wonderful time with nature. I thought it was close to the☆ station and convenient.

Although it was a little far from the station, I didn't feel any inconvenience because I could shop nearby. Messaging was seamless, and you handled this request very nicely. I would definitely like to use it again if I have the opportunity.

Contemporary Ryokan "Tenrai" in Castle Town

JonathanRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Takahashi is my favorite town to stay in when visiting the Okayama prefecture, and this is my second time visiting TENRAI. It is always very peaceful and serene with tons of natural beauty. It is a short walk away from Raikyuji Temple and the Former Haibara Family Samurai House. With a little bit of effort, you can even walk to the shuttle van stop that takes you to the Mastuyama Castle hiking trails. It is incredibly relaxing to spend early mornings observing the well-manicured private garden at TENRAI. Despite the lush surroundings being full of life, there were no pests within the accommodations. A highlight of this ryokan is the main house’s massive bath that looks like it can seat 4 people. The bath even has its own zen garden, which is incredible to observe while soaking.
