Guest access
Staying at the Jaguar's Jungle Lodge is like being in an episode of Planet Earth II. You never know what you are going to see next, but you know it is going to be a new and exciting way to see nature!

Staying at an ecolodge is a completely different experience than just going to a hotel. Here, you don't have to worry about finding taxis, a tour leaving without you, theft on the beach, creepy guys staring at you in your bikini, or finding a decent restaurant. You also don't have to worry about going without luxuries like hot water and internet even though we are the most remote lodge in Costa Rica. Our staff will make sure you have everything that you need to concentrate on your experience in this unique rainforest instead of worrying about logistics. Time stops here, and there are no days of the week. That being said, you should prepare for a wild ride!

This pristine coastal landscape does not offer boat docks, which means we do beach landings. On days when the waves are big, arriving can be an adventure. You won't need shoes when disembarking. Once you arrive, you'll be shown to your room and supplied with a welcome drink and orientation. After eating a late lunch, you'll have time to explore the grounds. Most guests choose to do a night hike on the day of their arrival to jump right into the action.

All of our tours leave right from our beach and are led by our in-house guide. Our guide is young, likable, indigenous, fully certified, and will most likely be your guide for multiple tours so you'll get to know him well. Our tour groups only encompass guests who are staying with us. so you often feel a community atmosphere when everyone comes together in the dining room for meals. because they did a tour together. Just because you return from a tour doesn't mean you're experience is over. You're still surrounded by the world's last primary coastal rainforest and all of its splendor, as well as your own secluded beaches steps from your door.

We are the closest access point to the Corcovado National Park and Cano Island. Enjoy snorkeling in our bay, or explore the forest. Guests have access to over 14 miles of trails in and around our private biological reserve. They can explore our many private beaches, sea caves, and waterfalls. All meals are included with your stay, allowing you to concentrate your attention to your experience with nature! Drinks at the bar are sold separately.

Do not believe the maps online, we are not accessible by car. We are not located in the town of Drake Bay, we are right next to the national park.

Where you’ll be

Drake Bay, Provincia de Puntarenas, Costa Rica

WE ARE BOAT ACCESS ONLY! You cannot drive to paradise! Our closest neighbors are a 30 minute walk to the north or an hour walk to the south. We have surprisingly close ties to the surrounding community given the remoteness of our location, but do not expect to find a grocery store or an atm nearby. Prepare to unplug and enjoy nature in its purest form! We have an entire stretch of coastline lined with rainforest and full of wildlife.

I was born and raised here on this property in the most remote rainforest of Costa Rica. I grew up spearfishing to put food on the table and built the lodge slowly over time into what it is today. Everything on the property is built by hand and all materials were brought in by boat. Over time, with ecotourism being the main source of income in the area, the wildlife populations have grown substantially, and I'm proud to be a part of that.
