We had a fantastic time at The Stables celebrating our rescue greyhound’s fifth birthday - she got to run around happily in the enclosed garden whilst we enjoyed our complimentary Prosecco in the hot tub!Secluded location, relaxing and everything you could need thought of by Paul & Fiona. Fab place to stay for outdoor adventures.

Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

We all felt incredibly spoilt at tower cottage. The accommodation just had a wonderful, relaxed, comforting playful energy about it. It felt that every ornament or artifact that the cottage held had a story behind it and what a privilege for us. It was joyous. The grounds, well that was something else. Early morning Deer, the call of the chiff chaff, the fast low flight of the sparrow hawk through the woods, the soothing sound of the stream in an evening, a great crested grebe joining us for our Sunday morning dip and the joy of the marble run in the woods reminded us to freely play all weekend as a friendship group. Living next door, Ruth and mark were on hand if we needed help or advice without ever feeling like our time and space was compromised. Relaxed wholesome hosts who love where they live. Their kindness was infectious. We will definitely be back.

We have just returned from a few nights away staying at this little piece of paradise. If you’re after a tranquil, relaxing holiday then this is the place to stay. From the house itself, to the spectacular views , the amazing pool house and the lovely, friendly neighbours, this place ticks all the boxes and more. Highly recommend visiting The Queens Arms for a meal (or just a cheeky drink), the staff are so friendly and just made our time away extra special. Malham is only a 20 min (ish) drive away and is stunning (a must see). The only thing I would advise is to make sure you take plenty of supplies (or do an online shop for delivery as we did) as the local shop is a 20min drive away. Thankyou again David, we will definitely be back.

Teapot Cottage is a beautiful place to stay. It was very well kitted out, decorated very nicely, and had lots of nice touches to make our stay even better. Lammisa was a great host - very responsive and friendly, and was happy to help whenever needed. There's great local amenities within walking distance, and several local villages and towns within a short drive, including Ennerdale Lake. The place was very comfortable, with plenty of seating indoor and out, with several comfy beds suitable for a group of adults. The only thing to be aware of is that the bedroom with the bunk beds has very little storage space, so if you're staying for a few days and have a large bag/suitcase - you'll need to find somewhere else to put it! Overall - we were all very pleased with this stay and we'd definitely book again in future.

Beautiful modern rustic cottage in the countryside, exactly what you want if you want peace, comfort and luxury. Emma & Gregor are amazing! Great communication and little extra treats to greet you when you arrive ! Absolutely recommend!

Lovely, cosy cottage. Very warm, despite the inclement weather. Under floor heating was lovely! We lit a fire one evening, although we didn't really need it, and it was great!

Our stay was home from home fantastic location with great views. The house had plenty of room was comfortable and very relaxing. Mike and Hazel were super hosts all our needs were taken care of. We will most definitely be booking another stay soon.

A real gem. It’s better than the photos show. Full of character yet modern standards and amenities. Quality furnishings and kitchen equipment. Excellent mattress, soft, comfortable sheets and towels. So lovely that it’s family owned from someone born and still living in the area. Everything has been thought through so well equipped. Can’t wait to come back. We loved every minute of our stay. Nook Cottage is a beautifully presented cottage with all that’s needed for a short stay. The quality of the cottage is superb and had all we needed. Brynne and John are fantastic hosts; there are excellent guides and notes produced by them in the cottage plus information on activities and attractions throughout the area, including extensive notes on restaurants and local produce shops. We went on numerous walks; the cottage is ideally located for some of the best preserved parts of Hadrian’s wall and so many choices for exploring that part of our history from here. Brynne and John have provided dozens of books in the cottage for leisure reading and information, with their guides and the books one would never be short of inspiration for any activities. We would strongly recommend Nook cottage, a great place to stay.

A fantastic option for our week in the Lake District. Conveniently situated, spotlessly clean and well equipped. A very comfortable place that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.

Carole’s cottage is cosy with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Although we mainly used one lounge, it was good to have the option of the second lounge & made the cottage feel more spacious. Carole’s communication was great from start to finish. We would have no hesitation in booking again if, hopefully, we return to the area, which we love

We absolutely loved our three nights at Jonnty’s place! The place itself is a lovely, spacious barn conversion that is warm, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen with range cooker is fab and the living / dining room is huge and has a comfy sofa and big TV. The bedroom is also roomy and has a world class bed that’s perfect after a hard day on the fells. Jonnty, meanwhile, is a great host - knowledgable on the local area, friendly and when my car needed repairing he rang his neighbour who got it fixed the next day, no problems. Overall, this is a superb place with a great host - we couldn’t have asked for more and will be back. Thanks Jonnty!

Awesome location as my husband was doing the lakesman triathlon

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at Crook a Beck Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. It is well equipped, with a great kitchen, plenty of wardrobe space and a large walk in shower alongside a large bath. It is in a peaceful setting with beautiful views and has all levels of walks available straight from the property. We enjoyed the extras especially the lemon drizzle cake made by Judith. We will definitely books this property again on our next visit to Patterdale.

So tastefully done, cosy but spacious and has everything you could need. Being so close to the shop and pub is obviously also a plus! Lovely and clean, comfortable, and great host. Me and my partner stayed here recently and the place was absolutely spotless. She also shared photos of the before and afters of the renovations and what she has done with the house is amazing. Jayne was an absolutely lovely host and so kind with really quick responses to any questions we had. Overall the stay was lovely as well as the location as everything was a short walk away! We will definitely be coming again in the future

The River Barn exceeded all of our expectations and was even more beautiful than the pictures portrayed. The River Barn was very comfortable (the bed was awesome) and all amenities to prepare meals, enjoy a BBQ or go on a picnic were readily available. The location was perfect for our purposes; we greatly appreciated the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the property but it also provided easy access to Windemere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick where we enjoyed going on several walks. We can't say enough positive comments about our host, Otto communicated with us on several occasions and provided us with lots of information --- where to eat, where to visit and nearby walks. If interested in enjoying a delicious Sunday roast, be sure to reserve a table early at one of the two pubs within easy walking distance. We highly recommend staying at the River Barn and can't wait to visit again!!
