Wow! This place was above expectations, absolutely beautiful cottage and facilities. The cottage itself is so spacious and finished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean. The grounds and facilities on offer are superb. The location is stunning and perfect base for exploring the surrounding areas, so many places to visit. We’re already planning our next stay, thank you for a perfect stay!

Lovely stay over the New Year period. Great location with just a short walk into Pocklingto where there are lots of places to eat and drink. Would recommend.

6 adults, 3 children, a baby and dogs stayed at The Byre for 4 nights over New Year and we all had an amazing time! The accommodation was lovely and the private heated pool was a huge hit with the kids!! Sue was really helpful and responsive from the point of booking and throughout the stay. We will definitely be back!

Myself, 9 others and 1 small dog booked on of Sue's fantastic cottages for a reunion weekend. Sue was very easy to communicate with, gave us the guidebook ahead of time virtually for any queries (we were very interested in the pizza oven and games room) Facilties were excellent, we were lucky that no other cottages on the site (only 3 others) were in use during our stay, so had free roam of the site and facilties. The local recommendations were brilliant. We went to the old black bull down the road for dinner on the first night and then again for roast dinner on Sunday - mega The house itself is just as shown in the photos, more than comfortable to sleep and house 10 of us for the weekend. Special mention to the hottub, (which is private for your house and I believe comes with all houses) and to Paul who was more than helpful coming to our rescue and reviving out pizza night when we experienced some issues with the oven. 10/10 would go again.

The house was perfect for my 50th celebration with family ( 6 adults, 6 kids and one dog), the garden lovely, the hot tub was used many times by all and the pool was great. Huge living room to fit us all in while still feeling spacious. Great communication with our fabulous hosts, house has everything, would highly recommend and would come again.

Incredible building, massive rooms and very cleanly presented. Hot tub was great and there were extra towels available to use. One of the rooms listed on Airbnb as a twin room was actually a bunk bed room - you can see this on the floor plan image. It was “suitable for adults” however being 5”9 we did not feel safe using the top bunk as the mattresses weren’t the best and the wooden edge flexed easily. The outdoor pool was heated, however this was still quite cold and couldn’t be in for much more than 15mins - similarly to the indoor pool we hired one afternoon. But the indoor pool area was fantastic, loved the led lighting all around the room and the heated loungers were brilliant. Plenty of toilets & shower rooms which were pristine. Surrounding area was beautiful, loved seeing the field of cows every morning. A couple of loose dogs wandered around unattended during our stay - so may not be ideal for visitors bringing reactive dogs to stay.

This was by far the nicest place we’ve stayed in during our time in England! The apartment is extremely spacious and incredibly comfortable—perfect for relaxing and feeling at home. We especially loved the cozy living room, which was ideal for evening get-togethers. The host was wonderful—friendly, proactive, and provided all the information we needed ahead of time. The location is fantastic too: just a short walk to the city center, with plenty of great restaurants nearby. We also really appreciated the thoughtful restaurant recommendations available in the home. Highly recommend this place—we’d love to stay again!

We had a great few days in the house. It was very clean and comfortable exactly as described and shown in the photos. Clare left a few doggie treats in the kitchen which was thoughtful. Having a garden was great, not only for our puppy but for us chilling out in after a tiring day in York. It was conveniently situated for buses, dog walking area and local supermarket. Car parking is very much a bonus as parking in York itself is very expensive. Communication was always good. We would definitely recommend this house to stay as Clare and Gary are the perfect hosts.

We had a lovely stay at Mike's place. The house is in a great location on a quiet street with a nice walk into the city centre. The house was as desribed and very clean. Mike was a great host, providing lots of recommendations of things to do in the local area and very responsive to questions. I would definitely recommend it for a weekend trip to York.

We stayed here for the weekend for our annual girls city trip. It was in an amazing location being right by the city centre and was a great price too. Louise was a great host always on hand providing clear instructions for check in / check out and offering to help with anything else we needed.

Really fantastic stay. House was spotlessly clean, exactly as described in the listing. Fabulous location in walking distance to everything we wanted to see in York. James was a great host, responded quickly to messages and offered early check in and late check out as he wasn’t booked either side of our booking. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend a stay at Jackie's place. Spotlessly clean and really well equipped, plenty of space for a family of four. Right on a frequent bus route into the city but also walkable and good pubs nearby, we particularly enjoyed the Old Grey Mare, great choice of beers. The welcome pack was a thoughtful addition. Lara’s place was lovely and very easy to get too. On arrival we parked outside the property which was a bonus and was greeted with a lovely chocolate cake and a bottle of Prosecco. We loved sitting in the garden of a morning and an added bonus was the summer house! The easy walk into York took around 20 minutes along the river. Such a beautiful walk. Very happy with our stay. We were visiting friends who found the listing and recommended, and it was great interacting with Paul to get the details sorted out. The house was perfect for our needs, with a very kind welcome basket for us, easy to access facilities, including laundry, which we definitely needed after some hotter than usual days in York and London, and comfortable. My daughter especially loved reading in the conservatory. There is easy access to the York city centre by bus, which were very comfortable. there is also a lovely way to walk into town along the river. Definitely recommend to any families looking for a quieter spot with easy access to everything the city has to offer.

Another wonderful stay at Lynn’s beautiful home. Situated close to the river and perfect for an early 5k run and an easy stroll into the city centre. The house is cosy and the pretty courtyard garden is a tranquil space to relax. This was our second stay and we’ll definitely be back.

We had a wonderful short stay at this lovely home! The space was clean, cozy, and just what we needed for a relaxing break. Our host was incredibly friendly and welcoming — we especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh bread, eggs, milk, and jam waiting for us when we arrived. It was such a nice surprise and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a comfortable and charming stay!

This property looks even better in person than the photographs - it is finished to a beautiful standard. The kitchen is well-stocked (details such as serving dishes and plenty of glasses have been thought about and included) and en suite bathrooms throughout worked great for a group stay. The hosts were helpful and responsive. The only drawback is that we were a group of 13, and found the sofa bed to be a bit too small for two adults. This didn’t take away from a great stay, however and we would happily return.

Lovely riverside home. Short walk to the Rambles, the Minster, Roman Wall and more. Easy check-in and a very warm welcome! A wonderful experience for our group of 4 ladies. The view is AMAZING!
