Shepherd’s Rest

EleanorRating, 5 stars83 months ago
Sam's place was a joy to stay at! It's an annexe of an old house on the high street with a lovely bedroom overlooking a courtyard and a spacious living room and kitchen area which overlook the garden. The garden is full of fruit trees and wonderful plants and is very well tended. A bathroom and a second toilet made getting out in the morning easy as well. Castle Cary is a wonderful town (recommend the Somerset Wine Company and the Gallery which Sam and his wife run!) We did use the jacuzzi (for an additional fee) and sitting in there listening to the live jazz from the bar and looking at the stars was a dream. We made a new friend in Bobby (the dog) who just wanted to play fetch Loved our night there and would happily return!

Pippins - Luxury Farm Getaway

AmandaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a lovely place, we loved it 🥰 Fantastic peaceful and private location. Well thought out property, really nice interiors, spacious, and well equipped. It felt really homely. Fresh eggs from the farm and biscuits on arrival were a treat. We didn’t meet Helen but she was a great responsive host before and during our stay. We hope to be back when we’re next in the area.

The Old Rectory Retreat - Spacious secluded luxury

HollyRating, 5 stars7 months ago
We were visiting family locally but would have come to stay here anyway as the accommodation is very special and in a beautiful rural locality. Sean and Zoe could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is really comfortable and with interesting furniture and art works . The king size bed was luxurious and the view from the bedroom overlooking the hills beyond was a wonderful start to the day. Lamyatt is a very pretty village close to National Trust properties, lovely rural walks and great pubs and restaurants within a short driving distance. Bruton and Castle Cary , the local towns, have plenty of interesting shops. Wells is also nearby with the Bishops Palace and the Cathedral. We were there over Armistice Sunday and went to a service there. The Retreat is well named, tucked at the back of Old Rectory and is completely private. But Sean and Zoe were always on hand to help in any way. Thank you so much - we would love to come back.

Stylish 4-bedroom townhouse in the heart of Bruton

GigiRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Fantastic stay. Flexible and responsive hosts. Property was better in person than in the pictures. Large, spacious, cozy and bright with an enviable book collection. Steps away from shops, pubs, and food options. And 5 mins walking from St Mary’s Church, will def be back next time traveling through these parts !!

The Apple Store

SophieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had the most delightful time exploring Bruton with Jocelyn’s lovely Apple Store as our base! It was the perfect size for the two of us - very cosy inside and with the most gorgeous front garden. Jocelyn was a warm and friendly host. We highly recommend a stay here! 🍎🍏🍎

Two Bedroom Apartment in South Somerset

Matt’s home was perfect for our weekend in Wincanton for a wedding. All the facilities were good, we had a slight issue with the shower but Matt was very responsive! It was a good location by the park where you could get brunch at the local cafe. Would recommend!

Clarence Cottage Castle Cary

SusanRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What a wonderful place to stay for a quiet, peaceful, holiday. The cottage was more spacious than I expected. It was spotlessly clean, with a well equipped kitchen and lots of fluffy towels and blankets. We slept upstairs, the bed was very comfy. The lounge has two comfy sofas, the shower was hot and powerful. The outdoor area is a small enclosed courtyard and would be suitable for a small dog. There is a table and 4 chairs and one sun lounger outside. The courtyard backs onto the private car park, so easy to reach your car. The cottage is at the rear of the Bay tree pub which is also run by Rennie and her family. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. There are local shops and supermarkets a few minutes away. Rennie and her husband were friendly and helpful and queries were answered immediately. They recommended places to visit. An ideal location to visit the Bath and West show at Shepton Mallet. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage
