Superb detached house, in quiet location with a cosy feel despite being very large. Amazing views and spacious gardens ideal for adventurous kids. We had a lovely time here with extended family and the hosts have thoughtfully included everything needed for an easy home from home feel. Would highly recommended staying here.

Our family of 4 had a perfect stay at Caxton Cottage! It was cosy, charming and extremely clean. Kay was super helpful, responsive and provided us with all the essential information we needed. I can’t recommend Will and Giles’ place enough. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. The information sent prior to arrival was brilliant, the cottage was much bigger than we expected and it’s in an amazing location right by Coniston. The place was spotless and had some lovely touches. We will be back!

We had a lovely, comfortable stay, and the accommodation was clean and very well equipped. The location was great as it was approx 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Ambleside in one direction and about the same fom Lake Windermere in the other direction, and there were scenic walking routes from right outside the front door. We went by train and bus, and with a pre-arranged delivery from a local supermarket, it all worked really well.

We had a great few days staying at The Old Wash House - really well appointed and furnished to a high standard, with lots of quirky features. Extremely comfy bed and lovely hot shower. The hosts were very attentive and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location. Not even a minute from all of the restaurants, shops and bars of Windemere. House equipped with everything you need so would definitely stay again!

What a fantastic property and garden in such a quiet, lovely neighbourhood yet only 5 minutes’ walk to Bowness on Windermere shops and eating places, a few minutes further walk takes you to the lake and ferry terminal. The property was warm and homely, yet everything was pristine, all the rooms were immaculate, the kitchen was a pleasure to cook in, with plenty of utensils and cooking equipment, spotlessly clean. The ensuite bedrooms were beautiful as were the bathrooms. It has a huge driveway and great enclosed back garden with firepit and Weber BBQ, lots of seating, pity we were not able to take advantage of this due to the weather. The garden was very safe and enclosed for our dogs. We were able to adjust the heating temperature to suit, we really appreciated. Otto was fantastic and responded immediately to any queries before and during our holiday, as well as being pro-active from booking and throughout our week’s holiday. Thanks to the housekeeper who is doing a wonderful job.

Stayed here as I was running an Ultra (the Lap) in the area with a start point not far away so this was an ideal location. What made this stay amazing was the property itself and Louise’s communication which was spot on, very friendly and welcoming. I felt at home when I didn’t need any distractions other than the event I was focussed on and this was 100% possible here. I even met some of the neighbours who were really lovely and helpful too. 100% recommend staying here ❤️

We booked the lodge last minute for a first little mini-break with our 4 month old baby. The grounds were beautiful, well-kept and there were lots of a lovely walks around the site. The lodge itself was perfect for what we needed, it was tastefully furnished and decorated, clean and tidy, and had all we could need. The only thing which was a bit hard work was having a stove-top kettle rather than an electric one, which took a while for making the babies bottle (just personal preference). The hot tub was so relaxing, and the waterfall shower was amazing! We sadly didn’t get to use the outdoor pool with the baby, as it was a bit cooler weather on the day we could have gone. The on-site bar was great for drinks in the sun and had a happy hour 2for1 deal. We had nice food there one evening and breakfast on our last day - only complaint was very slow service, they seemed in-experienced and understaffed, but pleasant enough. Great stay all in all and would recommend and return!

Really enjoyed our stay, we were celebrating my Mother’s 90th birthday and had other family members staying in other lodges around the park. Beautiful scenery and great location. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

One of our favourite ever Airbnb’s! Just the perfect peaceful spot in the quintessential English countryside. The place was brilliantly kitted with so many smaller things you end up needing without realizing it. The full length mirror is always appreciated. Fantastic large smart TV with easy login to any streaming service. The “Herdy” theme for the kitchen was really a nice touch. Great big fridge and freezer. Super comfy bed. Nice big couch to relax after a long day of exploring. Alun was a fantastic host. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful caravan super spacious and clean. Fantastic location close to moorcombe bay. Lisa was extremely helpful from booking to checkout would defiantly recommend and stay again.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay! The caravan was perfect for our family of four (plus our dog) — cozy, spacious, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. What really stood out was the incredible attention to detail, especially for our pup — treats, a towel, and even a blanket were waiting for her. It was so heartwarming and showed how much care went into everything. Our host was amazing — Sam sent us great recommendations in advance for places to eat and things to do, which made our trip so much easier and more enjoyable. The fresh flowers and duck food left for us were such a lovely surprise — it truly felt like a personal and welcoming experience. We’re so grateful and would absolutely love to come back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm, pet-friendly getaway!

What a fabulous few days me and my boys had ..I’ve never seen them so relaxed (ages 35 and 37 )x I think it was the lovely energy we felt in the beautiful Nest xx looking out over the river each morning set us up for the day. Would recommend 100% , we had everything we needed ..I couldn’t fault it ..the bedrooms immaculate and the beds /bedding were soft clean and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the gym and pool offer also x staff there were lovely at the Swan Hotel. Thank you xx

Dinah’s place is absolutely lovely .. such a beautiful cosy space with everything you need. The court yard space was fantastic to be able to sit outside and enjoy dinner and a drink ..will definitely be back

Had the best weekend here with my partner and two dogs. Secure garden, which was really reassuring to be able to just let the dogs roam. Beautiful private setting half way down the valley. Jonathan and Claire were both really responsive which was really helpful. Will definitely be coming back! :)

We absolutely 💯 loved our short stay at Nursery end cottage. It was perfect. Warm, comfortable & cosy. It had everything you could think of. We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack & thankyou card. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful area surrounded by sheep and hills. We chose to stay here as it wasn't far from Scafell pike. I would recommend to anyone to stay in this cottage and would definitely book it again. It's just beautiful. We only wish we could of stayed longer.

Wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings with views out to Windermere. Elizabeth was a great host, excellent comunication and very welcoming. The breakfasts were delicious too!

The cottage was stunning and in a beautiful setting, ideally located for getting to and around the lake. Highly recommend for a family get away for beautiful scenery and tranquility.

Had a lovely two night stay for our wedding anniversary. James gave a great recommendation for our celebration meal at King of Siam. Good central location for the cottage, quiet area out of the way but with plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. The cottage was well equipped for two and two dogs. Only downside was no garden type area but to be fair the weather wasn’t the type for sitting out in for long. Bed super comfy and a great use of the spaces available. Only thing I would change would be a welcome book with ideas on where to go,what to do, local walks and recommendations for eating out. Whether that’s from guests or James. All in all a lovely trip away, thank you James for your prompt responses when I asked questions. Would recommend and will be going back sometime 👍👍
