Farmstay holiday rentals in Grand River

I cannot say enough positive and glowing comments about the host, Sian and of her beautiful home in Hamilton. I have rented many homes over the years and can't say I have enjoyed another rental as much. I was visiting from Calgary, Alberta, and a friend of over 50 years joined me from Michigan for a 'catch up' visit. The house itself was spotlessly clean and decorated with impeccable taste. I loved every detail. The setting where the house stood was a delight---surrounding gardens and flowers a rainbow of colours. Even though her own home was steps away we had complete privacy. With communication, restaurants recommendations, etc, Sian was very helpful and quick to respond. The beds were comfy, the bathroom linens were plentiful and absorbent. Cooking was made easy with a well stocked kitchen. it was a warm week in Ontario and the AC was fantastic. The washer and dryer were an extra bonus. I came away feeling I had made a new friend in Sian. All I have left to say is Thank you!

Cathy and Brad are great hosts. Their suite was immaculately clean and the property is stunningly tranquil. It was a great place to escape the city and host my parents from out of town. Cathy was very helpful and communicative yet the experience felt private despite them living next door. She even left us some delicious treats and farm fresh eggs upon arrival! Would (and likely will) definitely stay there again.

The cottage is an absolutely paradise! Fere and her wonderful family were consummate hosts - very accommodating and communicative, with great local recommendations. The cabin itself is idyllic and the perfect place for a weekend getaway; we couldn’t believe it was just an hour from the city — we really felt like we got the chance to unplug. The property is beautiful and well-maintained, with great walking trails and gardens! The cottage is comfortable and spacious, with all the necessities for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Amazing perfect location peaceful serene clean location was close to all amenities via your own transportation. Definitely will be come back here next time I travel this way. Enjoyed our stay!

Would highly recommend! A very spacious spot with lots of activities and lovely surroundings. The place is very cozy with the wood burning stove and plethora of candles. Annette was very pleasant, responsive and accommodating! We had a great time playing with her dogs in the snow. We will be back!

This property is absolutely beautiful! We had the best time playing tennis and basketball, going in the pool and sauna. The pool is cool which was so nice after getting super hot in the sauna. 10/10 recommend. The inside was beautiful and relaxing, felt like a perfect getaway and we will be back for sure! We stayed at Cindy’s beautiful home for 3 nights. It was a family reunion with ages ranging from 75 to 4. Everyone loved the home and outdoor space. Games loft, pool table, kayaks, paddle boat, exercise room, games and puzzles were all used. We cooked all meals there. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. We all felt it was a gift that we found this home, and were able to reconnect as a family in such an ideal setting. Thank you Cindy, we have memories that will last a lifetime.

I love the Farm Shed...it feels like you have rented a wee home of your own and it's nestled in a serene farm setting...quiet, contemplative and cozy. The friendliest cat was a bonus.

Very nice and private place with great amenities. Cheryl was very responsive and flexible with check in etc.

Our getaway was delightful! Every moment felt special, from long dog walks through the property to relaxing in the cozy, beautifully designed cabin. The outdoor seating area was the perfect spot to unwind, and taking a refreshing dip in the swimming pond after our bike race made the experience even more memorable. Thank you, Rushad:)

My son and I stayed at Liz's place and had an absolute blast. This place is magical - the outdoor kitchen and dining room are so fun (and well-equipped!), and the firepit was amazing. The tent itself was spacious and clean, the bed was super comfy and the duvet kept us nice and warm on a chilly night. Overall, the space was incredibly gorgeous, peaceful, and we had everything we needed. Liz was also great - super communicative and friendly, and she took time out of her morning to walk us through her gardens and show us what she was growing. Just beautiful. I've already told my friends and family about this place and plan to come back. GO! IT'S THE BEST.

Best place ever to start a honeymoon. We arrived around 11:30 pm and the cottage was unlocked and ready to go. Everything was cozy and homey. Jan gave us an amazing cheese and fruit board and Doug had fresh baked cookies for us. Peaceful location to unwind. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty but that’s probably the location (and helps force an unplug). The piano was a great extra touch!

Kari’s place was amazing, smooth check-in, clear instructions, she is very responsive on messages. I booked her place for my husband’s birthday and asked for some decorations, she fully delivered on that request. Overall it was great stay.

Fabulous little place! It had everything one could want for a short stay. Lovely location. Cute goats and chicken. My dog was welcome and that always is a big deal to me. Even if there is an extra charge. I understand that.

The cabin was super cozy and located in a beautiful, private area. Would recommend for a weekend getaway in nature!

Completely beautiful and relaxing getaway experience. The hospitality was great and everyone we met on the ranch (including the people who board their horses there) were so nice. We even got to groom a horse for the first time and walk some adorable goats. Our dog loved it and enjoyed his time with the resident dogs, Sammy and Maggie. Looking forward to another trip in the future!

This is an amazing home and Karen is the perfect host. I had customers in town for a visit, the stay cost the same as putting them up in a decent hotel but the experience is so much more than a hotel room. It’s not even close. There is nothing like being in a beautiful home with top class finishings in the middle of vineyards and a short walk across the grass to everything 13th Street offers. Its really as lovely as it gets.

John and Karen's place was so peaceful, cozy and comfortable. They were very generous with leaving coffee, tea, milk and butter. The snacks were thoughtful as well even for our dog Chelsey. Lovely evening with a barbecue and sitting outside for a fire waiting for the moon flowers to appear Karen gave us a little tour and of course the alpacas and feeding them and learning about their behavior very interesting Would highly recommend Thanks again, Martin, Wendy and Chelsey

⸻ We stayed at the Alvento Winery house for two nights as our daughter was getting married at a venue just five minutes away. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was the perfect choice. The house itself is spectacular—spacious, beautifully maintained, and set in a quiet, private location with stunning views of the vineyard. It was ideal for the bride and her bridal party to relax after the rehearsal and prepare for the big day. The master suite was perfect for the bride, giving her a peaceful and private space to rest and get ready. Even our wedding photographer was thrilled with the setting—she captured some truly beautiful shots both inside and around the property. A huge thank you to Danny for being such a great host—friendly, responsive, and thoughtful throughout. This stay was everything we hoped for and more!

The Austrian Log House is a little slice of heaven. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, and really hope we will get to go back again someday. The location is peaceful and quiet with beautiful views. The log house was very clean, had everything we needed, super comfortable beds. This place is absolutely stunning!! And our host was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel so welcome. It was a truly magical weekend away at the beautiful Austrian Log House.

This is our second time at this property. Perfectly located in Lincoln, just minutes from wineries and great restaurants. The place was spotless, well stocked, and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately wasn’t able to stay after booking because I had a last minute problem with my trip plans but throughout the booking experience, Cosmin and Nancy were very fast and thorough with communication. Will definitely look at booking in the future if I need a place in the area.
