The place was great. It is definitely IN THE WOODS... and you have a great view of the mountains. The directions provided were excellent. Overall, it was a great experience and we would be back! :)

Great Smoky Cabin Rentals is Amazing! We have been renting from them a few times now, and they are always on top of things and very communicative. We ran into some issues this last time when we arrived and they were very responsive and handled things very professionally and promptly! The staff is amazing!!! This cottage is beautifully situated among gorgeous mountain views from the front porch and hot tub! The open design facilitates cozy gatherings around the large kitchen. The two beds have high quality mattresses for sound sleeping, and the cottage’s charm is felt throughout the house. Feel right at home in the Great Smokies and enjoy the peacefulness of Lake Santeetlah.

We loved the surrounding town, the peaceful area and yurts so much last year that we came back for a second time! The yurts are amazing and the area provides a relaxing atmosphere, as well as the sounds of the connecting rivers are so calming. We left something behind and the owners were gracious to send it!

The house fit our needs as a group and put us close to the Cheoah River, which was our priority. There was a huge storm that knocked the power out, but the host was super quick in responding and even sent someone out when the water wasn't as quick to return as the power. We did run to town to grab some bee spray to knock out a few wasps nest, which isn't surprising for spring in the mountains.

My husband and two fur babies really enjoyed our slow rainy weekend. We all slept well, ate well and lounged around on the ole so comfy couch. The hot tube was a great touch and very relaxing with some deep chill music in the background. The surrounding senary was picturesque with quant calm creeks trickling by giving the background sound along with the birds a very deep nature soundtrack. For us we had a very relaxing weekend with all the modern comforts. Wifi worked great, I enjoyed the nice size kitchen to prepare gourmet meals for us. The shower was unique as it is done with smooth river rocks giving a very grounding effect while showering. We did not use the up stairs but did take a tour and how fun it would be teen veg in this cute little space. It was cozy and clean. We did not use the fireplace for the mornings were a perfect temp. I enjoyed the swing bed for a short period, but definitely could do a long-term lounge with a hot tea and a book. Definitely Poetic getaway!!

house is nice and has a good atmosphere, driveway is not low car friendly or bike friendly. not a deal breaker for most people, but it's important to note down. pictures make it look a lot less steep.

Robins place was everything we had hoped. We stayed in The Hemlock Cabin and it was peaceful and relaxing. Kate was fantastic at answering my text for wood delivery and giving us ideas to fish and hike. You will not regret a stay here. We are already talking about next years trip.

Mickey and Annette have outdone themselves with every possible thing you may need or ask already clearly documented for you. Every choice in creating this home is obviously intentional and ready for many great family memories to be made. Thank you both for sharing this amazing place with us! We will definitely be back!

I had such a wonderful time staying at the A-frame! The place was absolutely beautiful—every detail was thoughtfully done! It was incredibly comfortable, from the bedding to the peaceful atmosphere. I felt right at home the moment I arrived. The setting was perfect for a relaxing getaway, and I had so much fun during our stay. Whether I was enjoying the view, driving to the dragon, or just hanging out, the A-frame made everything better. You can tell a lot of care goes into keeping the place so clean, welcoming, and well-maintained. A big shout-out to Liz, the owner, who was incredibly accommodating and kind throughout our stay. She really went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we had everything we needed, and her warmth made the experience even more special. Our group was constantly talking about how much we liked Liz! Highly recommend this spot—it was a perfect mix of comfort, charm, and fun. Can’t wait to come back! Hopefully next year! ☮️❤️

Accurate photographs of the room and surroundings. Perfect directions to find the location. I just wish there was an extra blanket. I have no other complaints about this listing and I would stay again.

We ended up extending our stay so we spent 8 nights here in total. This is a quintessential lake house. The pictures honestly do not do it justice, the cabin is beautiful with incredible views. The gorgeous mountain/lake view was enjoyed through both the giant floor to ceiling window in the living room and from the screened in porch where we at dinner almost every night. Stephanie is an incredible hostess who has stocked the cabin with everything you need, and everything you forgot! We had the great pleasure of meeting her during our stay and she ended up volunteering to be one of the witnesses at our lake elopement, so she’s now part of some very special memories! We had a few fires in the fireplace, paddled around the lake a few times in the provided kayaks, and enjoyed hanging out on the dock w/our dogs. The internet was fast and the bed was fantastic. We’ve stayed at a handful of houses on this enchanting lake over the years and this is hands down our favorite. Do not hesitate :)

This is a nice and private cabin right off the Tail of the Dragon and the Cheoah River. The cabin is secluded but your just a few minutes from Tapoco Lodge and Joyce Kilmer Forest. We stayed here to kayak the Cheoah River and bring our 9 month old and this place was great.

We come to Murphy all the time to visit family. We will definitely book again here if it’s available!

An excellent spot for enjoying the Nantahala National Forest, as well as having ample room and accomodations for guests and vehicles.

We so enjoyed our stay. The suite was decorated beautifully and had everything furnished that you could think of. Everything modern and extremely clean and comfortable. Quiet and private. The grounds and pool were beautifully taken care of. Great views! We look forward to staying again. Nancy and Jim

We loved our stay over Thanksgiving with our kids and grandkids. The house was comfortable with plenty of room and fantastic views of the lake below and the mountains that surrounded us. Easy to get into Murphy for shopping and restaurants. We loved the Chop House!! We will book this house again!

We were looking for a peaceful place to get away for New Years and Marys place was perfect. Beautiful view of the mountains and lake. Nice outside porch with fire pit with big comfy chairs and a barbecue! Inside was perfect and loved the charm of the cabin. There was just the 2 of us - so we stayed on lower level in a comfy king bed. Nice indoor fireplace in the living room. The basement rec room was so much fun - Pool table / Ping Pong /Fooseball and a downstairs TV. I would highly recommend this place to get away and enjoy the peaceful woods and beauty of nature.

Monica’s place was in a perfect location to have a fun weekend on the lake. It was kept very clean for our arrival and had plenty of amenities to make you feel right at home! Monica is also a great host and is very responsive! We had a great stay here and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Murphy has to offer!!
