Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Golden Bay / Mohua

Ligar Bay is a fantastic spot, the changing tides provide so much diversity and interest - we kayaked, paddle boarded, walked and swam in the bay and at surrounding beaches and tracks. The house itself is very clean, with beautiful outlook and the garden is lovely. Furnishings and linen are very stylish and beds were comfortable. We found the lack of curtains/blinds a little challenging - there’s a skylight without a blind directly above master bed, one bedroom has no blind and the other had sheers, which provide privacy but no light. We love our sleep in holiday! We also missed having a dishwasher - some wouldn’t care. We appreciated all the pantry staples, great indoor and outdoor showers and water toys available for guests to use. A stunning place!

Hiromi was great, very responsive to messages and flexible. She even picked us some fruit and let us know to ask her for anything we might need. Thanks so much :)

We had a great stay the house was warm and comfortable with everything we needed. Very peaceful with a lovely outlook. Had delicious pizzas from Al Forno. Appreciated the coffee and wine and a lovely welcome card.

This house is just beautiful. It is in a brilliant location, just on the edge of town so you have everything very close by but the feeling your in the country. It is spacious & the garden is lovely. The bed was very comfortable & the internal decor gives it a very cosy, homely feel. Lovely place to stay.

The location of this home is incredible! Beautiful sunsets, close to penguins and a number of stunning beaches and hikes. Check out the baby fur seals, caves, natural spring, waterfalls and abundant bird life. Piwakawakas at every hike! Garry was very accommodating and responsive. Rent with confidence!

This is such a beautiful place and makes a great home base!! It’s only a few minutes outside Takaka, so it’s remote and peaceful but easy to get to town for supplies. The all wood cabin feel was so homey and it was nice to have a yard to walk barefoot in. Loved this stay!!

We had a wonderful stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful and the house was beautiful and quiet. The house was clean, airy, and bright with high ceilings and lots of windows and surrounded by mountains and greenery. It was only a short walk to the beach and a great central location from which to explore the Golden Bay and Abel Tasman area. We discovered a community playground just 1 or 2 minutes from the house which was a big hit with our grandchildren. We enjoyed Molly B’s for afternoon drinks and meals. Highly recommend.

Best view and a fabulous place to stay especially for five people and a baby. Plenty of baby gear which made life easier for travelling. Hot Tub was awesome especially with the colder weather we had. I would highly recommend Costa Ruby, it's just beautiful!

Such a beautiful location and house, so fun with the loft beds and layout with the kitchen great for cooking and the outdoor bath was such a bonus! Thanks so much Lisa and Owen we had such a nice weekend

A wonderful place. Moments from the beach where there were people swimming and SUPing all morning. We went in twice for an invigorating morning swim. Lovely walk loop on the beach too. The space is excellent, quiet and comfortable and very cool arty decor and a fabulous view. Driving in and out can be tricky due to traffic but a minor con in a sea of pro’s. Loved it. Raglan Roasts nearby do a cracking coffee too.

We loved staying at David’s place. Was a walk to everything we needed. Had an amazing outlook onto the water. And David and his family were so helpful. The kids loved the foosball table too. Highly recommended.

An incredible spot to stay while in Nelson. The apartment was absolutely beautiful and the host was extremely accommodating. Could not recommend further if considering staying in the area!

Nice place nestled in the Monaco apartments. It has solid heating, good kitchen facilities and a nice little outdoor spot too. It’s a quiet and safe neighbourhood. Good walks and food spots nearby too.

Wonderful place to stay.

We had such a lovely time at Linda’s apartment. Communicating with Linda was excellent- she was always so fast to respond and provide us with the information that we needed and very friendly too! When we arrived at the apartment- everything was very easy. The apartment was spotless - really fresh and clean and had everything we needed. The view was beautiful. The pool and spa were lovely. Short walk down to the beautiful beach or around to Kaiteriteri. We loved our stay and hope to return next summer. Thanks so much Linda x
