Landscape Architect's Chalet Soapstone Wood Stove

In 2004 I got the chance to design my own family's week-end house in the village Pigniu. This fabulous place at 1300 meters above sea in the Surselva Region of Graubünden province, above the Town Ilanz, was well-known to me, for my parents owned an old farmhouse until the 1980ies here. The Spiral shaped chalet has the form of a band, changing from concrete in the base to wooden shingles upwards. The house is designed to connect us to the landscape we love. You will heat with chopped wood.

Quinten has never seen a car

Are you looking to relax and enjoy Quinten's unique, sunny micro-climate? Then visit our holiday home in the vineyards. Family friendly, spacious and comfortably furnished (150m2), with unique panoramic views. Our garden (with a dozen fig trees and 70 vines) and the unique surroundings offer plenty opportunities to relax and to discover. Important: Quinten can only be reached on foot (about 3h from Weesen/Walenstadt) or by boat. There is no shopping, supermarket or groceries in Quinten.

Sommerabende können auf dem eigenen Sitzplatz mit Grill verbracht werden, im Winter ist der alte Kachelofen ein idealer Ort, um sich aufzuwärmen. Das hauseigene Fitness steht zur Mitnutzung zur Verfügung. Im Winter ist man in 10 Minuten an der Talstation des Skigebiets, im Sommer in 10 Minuten am See.

The studio is set at the edge of the village center of Weesen in a quiet residential area. The lake is 150 m away. Excursions to the region are perfectly possible due to the perfect transport connections. Together with the regions of Heidiland, Glarnerland, St. Gallen and Lake Zurich, the excursion possibilities within an hour's drive are almost endless. The village center can be reached on foot in a few minutes.

The vacation home on Lake Wägitaler stands alone on a hill opposite the village of Innerthal with magnificent views of the lake and the Wägitaler mountains - Bockmattli, Schiberg, Zindelspitz and up to Muttristock all in one view. The house has been rented since August 2023.
