The Baltic Sea beaches can be reached in 15 minutes by car or 30 minutes by bike. 15 minutes (13 km) by car is the Christian Albrechts University of Kiel. Eckernförde with its many small shops and beautiful city beach can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The landscape of the Danish Wohld invites you to hike and cycle and offers numerous excursion possibilities.

Idyllic apartment under thatch

Live in the old village school opposite the Feldsteinkirche [fieldstone church]. In recent years, we have lovingly handcrafted a vacation apartment (60 m2) from the former classroom wing of the "Grot School", where the "groten" (big) students had their classroom. A light-flooded large eat-in kitchen forms the center of the stylish apartment. Centrally but rurally located, 15 minutes by car to the Kiel center, 25 minutes to the beach. Paddle on Eider & Westensee, hike in the nature park!

The house is located in the middle of Schierensee, an idyllic village with about 400 inhabitants in the Westensee Nature Park. Here you are surrounded by a magnificent landscape, ideally suited for long hikes and bike tours. At the lake there is a swimming area with a great kiosk cafe, which is run with a lot of love and passion. Guests can indulge in culinary delights at Gasthof La Famiglia. A little secluded from the village, there is a large organic farm with a farm shop and cafe.
