Family-friendly holiday rentals in Gaula

Stayed for 6 nights in April. The house, it's location and Seixal were all fantastic. The heated pool was a real luxury and brilliant to see it in included in the price.

The accommodation was beautifully located in a very quiet location with a breathtaking view. Everything was clean and furnished with love so that you can only feel comfortable from the first moment. It had everything you need, we also loved the many kitchen utensils and the grill, which we used every day. The terrace with whirlpool, lounge, loungers and table were the highlight. We spent a lot of time in the accommodation because we felt so comfortable. Calheta beach is 5 minutes by car and highly recommended. We also found the private parking lot great. Bruno and Maria are very accommodating and also asked how we are and if we need anything. The location was perfect for us, very quiet, lots of privacy and yet we can get everywhere by car. It was a very pleasant stay, the views were amazing. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. The whole house was really well equipped, there was everything you needed. The host was very kind. One thing, but rather related to Madeira itself, that little caterpillars were walking into the house. Other than that the stay was amazing.

Leonel’s home was beautiful and exactly as pictures. Leonel met us at the property and shared lots about the area and had wonderful recommendations. The house had lots of space for 2 or a family and it is very close to lots of beautiful activities. We had a wonderful stay.

Carlos’s place was fantastic! We really enjoyed our stay – the property was beautiful, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, and everything was well taken care of. I think this is one of the best scenic app on the island. I have not seen such spectacular sunsets anywhere. The pool is perfect for swimming after tours. There is also a gym, overlooking the ocean that my husband used. The only thing to know is that it's a good idea to bring earplugs because a garbage truck arrives across from the bedroom quite early in the morning. But that shouldn't discourage you from booking. Graca is also a flexible host and allowed us to stay 4 hours longer because we had a late evening flight. Thank you!

We are glad we booked at this spot! The balcony was wonderful to have and everything was clean. What stood out the most was our very responsive host making sure we got all checked in even while her car was broken down on the side of the road! Despite the emergency, she responded to all our messages promptly and helped us check in. I was extra grateful when I woke up extremely sick from some bad fruit the night before and we were allowed a late check out until I recovered! We even left one of our passports at check out and she made sure the staff kept it safe for us. Very helpful owners, would recommend.

Maria’s 8th-floor apartment was perfect! Super clean, spacious, and the balcony had amazing views of the marina, Santa Catarina park, and the city. It has two bedrooms — one with a double bed, the other with two singles — both with private bathrooms and closets. There are three bathrooms total, all spotless. The kitchen had everything, plus a dishwasher and coffee machine. Laura, who welcomed us, was so kind and helpful. She messaged me before arrival, arranged parking, explained everything in the apartment, and even brought us a big bottle of water and fresh coffee capsules the next day. She also gave great local tips. The building has great security and private parking. Honestly, the whole stay was smooth and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Madeira — close to everything!

Everything was great! Perfect location

It has been sometime since I stayed in a real home-y and cosy house like Betty's. Our whole group (two families with small children ) was very pleasantly surprised by this beautifully decorated home. There were many essentials as well as some offerings by the host readily available. The location(although not very close to the historic center) is fantastic as it is possible to walk to some famous rock pools and a beach, as well as many restaurants, a mall and a supermarket. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.

this place was great! it's in a cute area bear ponto do sol, lots of parking, and just a short walk from some hikes. Rodrigo was very helpful and responsive, the place was great, and his cat is so cute and friendly!

Beautiful house. The driveway is easy to miss if you're not paying close attention the first time. Well equipped kitchen. Next to a walking trail by the sea. Well situated to drive to other attractions around the island. Fanal forest, P Moniz, Santana, PR16, were not far away.

The house was exactly as described — clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Everything was well prepared for our arrival, and the check-in process was smooth and easy. The kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and the whole place had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The location was perfect — quiet and peaceful, yet close to local shops, restaurants, and everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space (great for morning coffee or relaxing in the evening). The host was extremely friendly and responsive, always ready to help or answer any questions. You can really tell they care about their guests and put a lot of thought into making the stay enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area

Airbnb is very pleasant, as described and photographed. Lino our host picked us up from the airport, and took us directly to airbnb. Great communication before and during the stay. The apartment is really nice, well lit, and has a nice view. Very well organized kitchen with lots of dishes, large fridge, microwave and hob , which is nice, living room with sofa, tv, bedroom with double bed, large closet, desk, air conditioning and open ocean view. Everything was perfect, we even got a regional cake when we arrived. I would highly recommend this airbnb

This apartment was incredibly nice, colorful and centrally located to everything in Funchal. Sofia met us on move-in day and answered questions quickly. We will definitely rent this on our next visit to Funchal. A big plus is that the apartment comes with parking in the parking garage right across the road.

We absolutely loved staying at Patricia’s villa. It’s a beautiful home and perfect for a family staying. Everything that you needed was available - a well stocked kitchen with lots of utensils, basic cooking supplies (oils, salt, pepper etc) and lovely filter coffee. Patricia went above and beyond by providing us baby equipment (a cot, linen, a high chair, bibs, plate and cutlery) that meant that we didn’t have to worry about extra packing. The views were incredible with such a beautiful terrace and pool. Our 16 month year old daughter loved running around and we spent a lot of time enjoying the peaceful nature outdoors and making use of the well stocked board games available. Patricia was a fantastic host and really helped us out when we had an issue with lost luggage by taking us to the airport, speaking to workers there and ensuring that we got it back! We were so grateful for such a wonderful host. Overall, this was a wonderful place to stay and would absolutely stay here again

We felt very relaxed and comfortable at Antonio’s lovely house and the garden and views were impressive. We appreciated the interesting features in the garden with its nature feel and enjoyed the pool and sauna which we thought was a real asset for the place. The house is interesting and cared about and Antionio was an excellent and helpful host. We were glad of the car we hired to access shops, restaurants, beach and walking areas as without one would be difficult but it suited us really well as 4 adults who wanted a base from which to explore Madeira.

This was by far the best AirBnB we’ve ever stayed in. Antonio was so helpful from the very beginning (he sent lots of info ahead of our arrival), made sure we could check in in the morning after our early flight and welcomed us personally at his lovely house with pool and all amenities one could look for (specifically in the kitchen and bathrooms, where we found all types of equipment, shampoo, tissues etc). The beds were comfortable, the view was stunning. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed cooking together (particularly barbecuing outdoors), but the house offered many peaceful corners for each of us to relax in, too. We also really appreciated Antonio‘s recommendations for hikes and other things to do on the island. Thanks a lot for everything!!

We loved our two weeks at this location. Superb views over the ocean and the surroundings. All we needed in the house was present and clean. Very peaceful neighbourhood (although we were a little unlucky to have roadworks ongoing). Amazing private pool (with an extra bathroom)! Carolina was super friendly and always available for questions. Would love to stay here again in the future. Highly recommended!!

great communication, and great location. Outside the center, travel by bus to Funchal. But near a beautiful beach walk.

The Bauhaus-style house leaves nothing to be desired. We immediately felt very comfortable. The house is very well maintained and in mint condition. All necessary equipment is available. The house was the entire house and the terraces were very clean including the bathrooms. The pool was heated as agreed and the cover also kept the temperature very well. Fatima introduced herself to us briefly on the second day, she is very nice and we immediately had a very friendly relationship. We were even allowed to try some tomatoes from her local garden. If you want to spend a relaxing vacation with pool time and hiking, you are in good hands there. We will be back!

We travelled from the Azores to Madeira and later around mainland Portugal - this was by far our favourite place to stay during our honeymoon. Likely the best AirBnb we have stayed in to date. Duarte was a gem! He was helpful, generous, and delightful to be around. Google Maps brought us to another location but Duarte was incredibly responsive and we were quickly able to navigate Arco da Calheta. He offered vegetables from his garden and a beautiful welcome basket - we could barely finish all of the amazing bananas and eggs that he gifted us! The house was so well-equipped that we did not want for anything - the night we made espada BBQ in the outdoor kitchen was one of the highlight meals of our trip. This place was a beautiful and sunny sanctuary during our trip; we even cancelled several Levada walks to spend more time by the pool overlooking the ocean at home. If we could do it all again, we would book more time here.
