Holiday rentals with lake access in Free State

We had a wonderful stay because the place was exactly as advertised. The caretaker( Tishash) was there to assist and was welcoming, although there were a few things that did not meet my expectations.... Like finding cockroaches at the place, the awful smell of the water, and also the gravel road to get to the place was abit of the distance with lots of potholes.

what a wonderfull weekend in an amazing house with amazing facilities. The huge garden let us set up our badminton nets, soccer nets and the under cover boat house was amazing. The help that lives on the propperty was extraordinary and avalible all day when needed. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back for sure

I loved the place very much. I was just a bit confused about the location. I was looking for accommodation in Winterton because we wanted to be close to the start of our race at Mseni. Besides that, we loved it very much. Thank you Ingrid

What a beautiful and roamy home with all the necessary amenities to have a relaxed family weekend. The 5th room is an outside room and gave the young ones a bit of privacy from the "old people". We had a wonderful stay in a lovely peaceful neighborhood in a safe security estate, but with seamless access as arranged by the owner. There are plenty of bathrooms and enough room for all the guests to be comfortable and relaxed with absolute attention to detail in each space with all the luxuries you would need for a weekend of spoils away from home. We had a very special family breakfast and would count the days to visit this house at Vall Marina again in the summer to also fully enjoy the outside amenities in the warmer months.

What a great weekend away with friends and the place had everything we needed and more for the kids as well. We are already talking about making this an annual trip! Thanks Melissa for letting us use your beautiful home

The cottage is very comfortable, homely and in a beautiful setting. Equipped with all one needs for a weekend away. The driveway is difficult to spot and not particularly well used so a little confusing, but once there we had a fabulous time. Thanks so much xx

accommodation world class. restaurant felt like i was eating pizza in Italy. activities, padel !! volleyball and the pools are incredible! fishing is amazing, water is beautiful Howard and his team are an absolute delight

We were attending a sports event in Sasolburg and this was a perfect base - easy 15 minute drive to the stadium and really lovely apartment and estate to return to after a busy day. Beautiful, well-appointed apartment, thank you Danie.

We had an amazing weekend at Emfuleni.. The house was great and we had everything we needed. Afternoon drinks and early morning coffee on the patio as well as evenings around the bonfire! Walking distance to the river and surrounded by the mountains. Basil was very helpful with instructions and we will definitely be back.

The photos looked interesting and the reviews were fantastically positive - then the reality? Absolutely splendid! 10/10 - minus nothing! We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was spotless, cozy, private, safe, and secluded, with thoughtful touches throughout. Everything we needed (and more) was provided. Michelle was incredibly attentive, offering great advice and quick responses, and Vincent and Nadia were so kind helping us when we got stuck in the mud. Such warm, welcoming hosts. The Berg has always been a special place for us, as a family, but now we have found our go-to holiday home which makes it that much more special. Our kids had so much fun that they didn’t want to leave. In fact, none of us wanted really to leave. Bubu was also so amazing and friendly. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better holiday.

Amazing location, and access to Drakensurg Sun facilities is a bonus. Plenty of activities to do - hiking, swimming, horse riding, canoeing, abseiling, all right on your doorstep

Our stay at Ripon Cottage was such a delight. The scenery and accommodation were beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Erika was very kind and considerate throughout our stay and went the extra mile providing us with a cot after a last minute request. I’d definitely recommend her properties to friends and family and would love to return one day. Oh & their pup Charlie is very beautiful & friendly - he took a liking to our 7.5 month old son.

Petra was friendly and very responsive and accommodating for our last minute changing schedule! Check in was smooth- someone had met with us to check in, as well as to check out! Space was well equipped for cold weather- lots of space for the 6 of is staying at her accommodation! If I had a boat and lots of friends to join me at the Vaal in summer this is definitely a place I’d want to stay in! Sadly didn’t get to use the pool but did make use of the bonfire/ braai pit that was in the private garden! Thank you for having us!
