Ideal location if cycling or walking the South Downs, visiting Glyndebourne ,doing tours of either Rathfinny vineyard or the Long man brewery,exploring the beautiful National Park or just escaping the city for a weekend . They have own area for sitting and alfresco meals but are welcome to potter around the garden which is in its infancy and gardeners are welcome to add their advice on planting etc ! I am delighted to meet guests and am here to answer questions .I have been in the tourist trade for twenty three years running Centres at Bewl Water and SevenSisters Country Park so am happy to help with advice on where to visit ,best places to eat locally etc .However I am also very aware that guests come to relax,chill out and enjoy their privacy.So I will not intrude unless invited to 、 The hut is in the Village of, about 15 miles east of Brighton, in the South Downs National Park. Directly on the South Downs way;ideal for a stop over for cyclist and walkers. It's close to castles, stately homes, vineyards and, The High street offers colorful shops and excellent cafes and restaurants Close to mainline station to and from London. This quiet, charming retreat a step away from the bustle of village life offers privacy and relaxation. A little gem of an oasis! Parking is available in my drive.There are bus routes to Seaford and Eastbourne.The Railway station at Berwick is main line to Lewes, Gatwick and Victoria London . If you are visiting at the weekend you are advised to book if going out for a meal.I am happy to recommend places to eat .arriving by train Berwick station is only ten minutes away (mainline from Victoria) but remember to book a taxi to get to Alfriston ,Polegate and Seaford are the nearest taxi services.

The host was an excellent communicator and her property was perfectly set up for guests with lots of attention to detail. Even the layout was ideal because there is space as you come in to leave your bags and clutter out of the way. The bedroom had dark curtains and it was super quiet at night. The bathroom was spacious and the kitchen was spotless with lots of added extras such as coffee pods which was so handy. There were clean towels on the bed and we didn't lack anything. Totally recommend.

Booking, communication and help were first class. The property is everything it is described to be, spotless, in a great location near to the beach and with regular buses just a short walk away. Facilities couldn't have been better and we really enjoyed staying here. Would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at Steyne house. The house is beautiful, impeccably done up, and is right next to the beach with the South Downs really close by, and lots of amenities in the town. Peter was very responsive and friendly, and left a lovely hamper of groceries and treats, as well as very clear instructions about the house and how to get around etc. We made use of the great beach hut and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend Steyne house.
