Holiday rentals with a kayak in Essex County

Just spent 10 great nights in the middle of May at this clean, renovated, and very bright farmhouse right on Lake Erie. Huge windows allowed ample natural light and the area is quiet/peaceful. Beds are very comfortable as is the living room area for relaxing. At night it was so wonderful to hear the waves while falling asleep. Kitchen was very well stocked, you just need to bring your own food/drinks. Enjoyed 10 days of birding at Point Pelee Nat. Park and Hillman Marsh and it was always nice to return to this comfy home on the lake at the end of each day. Becky, our host, was amazing and helpful, she always responded promptly to our inquiries. We would certainly return in the future.

The cottage was adorable and cozy. Our kids loved the beach even though the weather wasn’t warm. Just playing in the sand, watching the waves and the sunrise was worth every penny. Lots of people out fishing the canal. The Lake was absolutely stunning! If we ever find ourselves in this area again we wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Terri’s place was wonderful! Modern, well-equipped, clean and the large open-concept living room/kitchen was great for families. Beautiful view of the water and a sandy beach that was perfect for kids. The toys and games for kids was much appreciated! We will definitely be back!

Our family of 10 loved our stay at the cottage. It was beautiful and extremely clean. We all kept busy adults and 4 children 11 to 17 with kyaking, game room, fishing and just relaxi g in the beautiful outdoor space. We are already planning our next year family stay 😊

Had an awesome time at Ken and Jen’s cottage. The Thames/Lighthouse cove water system is really unique and was lots of fun to navigate on our boat. Nice fire pit right on the water. Certainly hope to come back again some time.

Of all the Airbnbs I’ve stayed at, this one is right at the top! The home was absolutely lovely with a stunning view, and the host’s communication was excellent. What really blew me away was how immaculately clean and well-stocked everything was—especially the kitchen. It’s so rare to walk into a rental and find everything spotless, organized, and ready to use. Every detail was thought through, and not a single thing felt out of place. This stay was exceptional in every way. I’m so grateful for the experience and truly couldn’t recommend this place more highly. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Ryan and Dee's home is phenomenal. It was pristine, and looked even more beautiful in person than in the photos. I feel comfortable saying that the inside was the cleanest, most organized AirBnB we have ever stayed at. The view from the yard, magnificent. My husband and I stayed for a 4-day weekend, and we brought our doggie with is. It is a great neighborhood to go out on walks, or to sit by the lake and look at ducks and geese float by. Ryan and Dee were also incredibly communicative, responding to questions before the trip, and checking in during the trip. I cannot recommend this place enough! We had the perfect weekend at Belle River -- can't wait to go back!

It’s a very nice place to stay, right on the water with beach access from the backyard. The cottage is very comfortable and has absolutely everything you need. I like to cook and there was a great selection of everything you need to make use of the kitchen and feel right at home. The beds were also very comfortable. The view was lovely, and the environment very quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend it!

Very beautiful location. Gorgeous water views and near restaurants, park, and ferry. Was a little overwhelmed by the fish flies when we arrived. They were everywhere- sticking to everything- and we did not know about their abundance this time of year. It made it difficult to sit outside and relax. Other than that, the place was comfortable and has everything you need for a lakeside stay.

Although our trip was cut short due to a power outage in the area, Lexy was an amazing host and we will definitely come back! Great location, super nice place & Lexy was over the top accommodating. We really appreciated her transparency and helpfulness as we dealt with the power outage. We definitely will come back in the future to have the full experience!

We were two moms with our two 14 year old daughters for the Ontario Gymnastics provincials in Amherstburg. The layout was perfect with girls in the loft and moms in our own comfortable beds. The whole place had thoughtful touches with cozy blankets, board games, books, binoculars for bird lovers, yoga mats and weights. Plus also all the modern upgrades of Alexa controlled lights/music and air fryer etc....but the best part was the view of the water from the front of the house straight through to the back and the outdoor sitting area. We lucked out!

Beautiful cottage in a quiet area on the island. Bikes and kayaks available for use. Everything was as listed and very clean. They had essentials there for use if you didn't bring them. Very friendly and responsive hosts. Overall, great stay!

This cottage is nothing short of beautiful. From the moment you walk in you can feel the stress lifting away! The property is clean, clutter free and spacious for a large group. The kitchen had all the necessary amenities/utensils, the rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable and the space was clean. It felt like you were stepping into your home away from home. The outside speaks for itself, aside from being directly on the beach, this property has a fantastic screened in porch which is great for keeping the bugs away! I highly recommend this cottage for your next getaway!

Excellent experience from start to finish. Lovely setting- right on the water. Was exactly as pictured. Indoors was very well appointed and welcome gift was appreciated. Lots of space for us as we were 2 couples. 3 full bathrooms which was great. Communication was excellent and hosts were extremely responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend if you are down Kingsville way.
