HiraLion's place is a comfortable house with eclectic charm. Its exterior garden makes it easy to find during that last stretch of walking at the end of a busy day exploring. Located very close to two train stations, grocery stores, and shopping arcades (covered avenues lined with shops and izakayas), you will find plenty to do in the neighborhood and beyond. We also enjoyed getting bento and onigiri at the local market (3-minute walk from the house) and staying in and enjoying the record player and retro video games. Keep in mind that the neighborhood is not a late-night place, so head to the market and shopping arcade between mid morning and early afternoon. We would definitely stay again if we return!

3 of us stayed here for 5 nights and we couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable space. It was central to many locations. Siwanon was extremely kind and welcoming. He had many great recommendations and provided lots of accommodations in the house. The AC worked wonderfully and was just what we needed to come home to on a hot day out and about. We would absolutely stay here again!

Natsuko is a very kind and helpful host. She made sure we feel comfortable at her place. She even pick us up at the subway station to show us the way to her place and tell us about the neighbourhood especially where the good restaurants are. The place is the same as advertised. It is clean and very cozy. I’m happy that I finally get to stay in a tatami house without spending that much. We got everything we need in there. Location wise, the Midosuji line is a few minutes walk and there are 711 and Lawson nearby. The JR line is also close by which is a very big help on our way to the airport. I got two luggages (one is a big one) which made me worry a lot. Thankfully, the nearby JR line has elevators which made it convenient for us (no need to take stairs like when we were in Tokyo) and we didn’t need to transfer to another line, we just stayed in the same platform to get into another train bound for the airport. It was a very smooth and convenient trip to the airport.

This cozy home is just 2 mins walking from the historic resort Toji Temple and 8 mins walking to Toji station which is convenient to everywhere we want to visit. This entire home is very quiet and charming. It’s a typical Japanese style decor inside and has everything we need . I’ll strongly recommend here to everyone who wants to explore Kyoto.

We felt right at home with the personnel check in. They were very attentive, helpful and kind with great restaurant recommendations! The house with a traditional feel was impeccable clean. The cherry on the cake were the 5 bicycles provided which you could use for free. also a easy to park parking spot if you are driving. 6 out of 5 :)

We simply loved staying in this home. The location is ideal for experiencing Kyoto. Peaceful and quiet and yet five minutes to metro/bus stops. And we also walked to many sites and temples. Ume is a gracious host and the home is a beautiful and historic building. We were very comfortable with two adults and two teenagers. Highly recommended.

Lovely place located near Kenrokuen and the castle. 20mins walk to higashi chaya district too. The place was very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. Glad we ditched the car rental as the parking space in front of the house was very tight and narrow. Ok if you have a very small car but definitely difficult/almost impossible if you have an SUV.

We had a wonderful stay! The location can’t be beat and we felt right at home. We loved being able to use the parking garage and the home was so spacious. Thank you so much!

If I could give the host 6 stars, I would. We were travelling with 3 young children. The host is very responsive and answered our enquiries promptly. Our requests to leave our luggages at the unit before check in time and pick up later after check out time were also fulfilled and those were life-savers. There are Family mart, 7-eleven and many eateries nearby. Within walking distance from Jr station and some bus stations. The place was quite at night and we had peaceful sleep. We will definitely choose this unit again if we were to come to Kyoto again.

The house is a beautiful 95 year old property with all the modern equipment ( bath , aircon etc ). We liked that the kitchen was well- equipped and you could make your own meals at the property. The host was very friendly and responsive. Also, the surroundings are very quiet - so if you would like a peaceful place, I would definitely recommend this house. Jane

Fantastic place to stay while in Kyoto. The amenities and service were great. The house was perfect for our family of five.

I stayed at Hanare's place with my two daughters (ages 18,19) and it worked out great for our trip to Kyoto. The place is really well done and has a great feel to it. My daughters really appreciated that they each got their own bed and that the AC worked very well. There is AC downstairs and in the bedrooms but the entrance and the upstairs hallway do not have AC. It wasn't a big deal but the hallway could get pretty warm. The only bathroom is on the first floor and the bedrooms are on the second floor. My only warning is the staircase, I would say it's more of a ladder. We were fine with it but it was definitely interesting getting the luggage upstairs. If someone in your group has difficulty getting around it might not be the best place. We used several of Hanare's recommendations and they were great. It's right by the main cobblestone street that leads up to the Kiyomizu-dera. We really enjoyed our stay and liked that it had a very clean modern yet traditional Japanese style.

It was the first time I was an adult and took my parents on a trip to Hyodo, so I was worried about the accommodation, so I searched hard and took them with me. Fortunately, my father, who had the most taste, said that the accommodation was her favorite during the trip. The size of the private house was large and spacious, and the common space was clean, pleasant, and really nice!!! It was to the point that I wanted to use it again next time.

Lovely host, very good communication, the neighbours are lovely and it really felt like home. Super clean and the beds were very comfy! The host was kind and took good care of me. (It also makes check-in smoothly..) I used it as a company workshop. It's a spacious space, so it's smooth and comfortable to use. Connect your laptop to the smart TV., I liked the meeting at the dining chair, living room couch, etc. The bed in the bedroom is nice, and I play a rest time game... and I get compliments from the people I went with.

Rosie Home was a sweet home in a great busy area and yet, tucked away from the main road so felt very private. We enjoyed the easy access and convenience of walkable location. Sirada was very responsive. If we come back with a group of companies, we will definitely stay here. Thank you!

The owner treated us like family and was so kind, and he was attentive to our meals, so we were able to stay comfortably with a warm heart. I want to visit again when I come to Paju next time!

Absolutely loved the neighborhood this stay is in! We loved walking down the flower path back home every night, lined with locals enjoying their evening. It’s about 15 mins from the Hongik train station, which is central to most places. There were small unique touches, including the map of Yeonnam that made our experience even better. The bed was comfy, and they had everything we needed. Highly recommend this stay if you’re looking for a spot with unique design, close to cute, local cafes and restaurants.
