Villa holiday rentals in Douliana

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. It was located in a more local area about 30-40 minutes from downtown Chania. We were surrounded by stunning views in the mountains. It was quiet, peaceful, and private. Sofia greeted us with such a friendly welcome and a delicious home cooked meal. She was very responsive too. We also enjoyed her local restaurant recommendations. The home itself is beautiful, it was lovely learning about its history and how beautifully traditional the home was kept yet equipped with many updated amenities. Note that renting a car is a must! We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone.

We had a very pleasant stay at Villa Galania for 5 nights in May 2025. The facilities were excellent and clean. The location is peaceful, with beautiful mountain views. If you are looking for a place to relax and forget the city's hustle and bustle, this place is worth considering. The host's guide app on the phone is invaluable, providing good instructions and tips both inside and outside the villa. The mattresses were too firm for our taste, but we bought a new thicker mattress topper for the master bedroom, which made sleeping much more comfortable for us. We left the topper on the master bedroom bed for future guests to enjoy. This was our choice, and I do not want to criticize the host for this. However, if you are used to a soft mattress, the beds might feel hard. The villa is in a remote area, so I recommend renting a car. Follow the host's instructions to reach the villa, as Google Maps or other navigation apps will likely get you there via smaller and narrower roads.

It was our first time in Greece, Crete and it was beautiful. The house was even better than the pictures, amazing view and perfect for 6 people. The elevator inside the house was perfect and the kitchen was lovely to spend time cooking and relaxing. It definitely felt like home and we wish we could’ve stayed longer 😍 I would definitely come back to this house again. Thank you for everything!

Andreas and Anna’s place was in a perfect peaceful location with beautiful views. The apartment was very clean and had all necessary amenities. Andreas provided wonderful recommendations, and was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful villa! The house is truly luxurious, in perfect condition, and tastefully designed with great attention to detail. The layout of the rooms is simply brilliant — spacious, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing and spending quality time together. The heated pool was one of our favorite features — always at the perfect temperature to cool down and unwind at any time of the day. The location couldn’t be better: just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, where you’ll find plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and shops. A very special thank you to our amazing hosts! They were incredibly warm, welcoming, and always just a message away. Every little question or request was answered within minutes — we felt truly taken care of from the very first moment. We stayed for 10 days at Alexandra’s villa and wished we could’ve stayed for more. It was a quiet and stunning location. The villa was really clean and had all the amenities we needed. Alexandra greeted us and had fantastic homemade and local food waiting for us which was well needed after our travels which was very thoughtful of her. Throughout our stay she was extremely helpful with any of our queries and gave us great recommendations for places to visit, eat and shop. We couldn’t recommend her enough. This is a gorgeous villa to rent for couples and smaller families looking to steal clear of busier stays on the island. The only thing we would suggest for people thinking of renting the villa is to not rent a very large car / truck / van as the roads are quite tight in places. Anything larger than what we rented (BMW X1) would struggle in the town but that has absolutely no negative reflection on our host nor Airbnb. All in all an exceptional host and a perfect villa. It would only be appropriate to start with Manousos, as a host simply incredible, so friendly, attentive and genuinely couldn’t have done enough for us. His location recommendations were some of the best spots we have ever been to. Between the 5 of us we couldn’t speak highly enough. The villa certainly matched every picture and more. As we drove up the driveway the ‘wow’ factor hit us all and from that moment forwards it set the tone for the week. On behalf of us all, we want to say thank you for making our holiday what it was and we certainly hope we decide to return again soon.

Beautiful and very modern villa with everything you need inside to spend a few days relaxing. Being in an easy to reach but slightly isolated area, your stay will be very quiet. The pool and gardens are extremely well cared for, there is great attention from hosts and the owner for cleanliness. All rooms have an air conditioner and all windows have mosquito nets. My friends and I were very happy with our vacation, we recommend this Villa to all those looking for a quiet accommodation, surrounded by greenery and with all possible comforts.

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Book this Airbnb. Do not think twice. Nice to be greeted with wine and snacks after the flight over. 3 styles of coffee makers with coffee. Sugar, spices, olive oil and balsamic to get you started. 4 bedroom 3 full baths. Great living and cooking areas. Very spacious for our group of 7. Clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything you could ask for. We made a few terrific meals with the grill and kitchen equipment. Harilao has put a lot of thought and planning in to his home. Gorgeous outdoor space with heated pool. Indoors is clean and uncluttered. The views are lovely. 1 minute on walk up the street to fresh bread daily and cute market. 3 minute walk down the street is a bigger market. 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. 8 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Bar right there if you want a drink. Walk to coffee, pastries, restaurants and bars near by. We loved the home and beach so much that we slipped a few day trips. 5 stars. I hope to come back! Amazing home.

Our fourth trip to Crete and the wonderful villa. As always, we had a fabulous time and loved our stay!

The house is simply gorgeous. Our family had a wonderful Christmas holiday here. The host was very generous with items in the refrigerator and a well stocked kitchen. Lots of recommendations of places to eat in the area. Michael met us in the driveway upon arrival and showed us everything in the house, that was very kind. Especially loved access to the washer and dryer because we were traveling with kids. It was too cold to use the pool, but if you are here when it is warm, it would be such delight.

A truly unique villa, the views are spectacular and the villa is absolutely stunning. The garden was full of butterfly’s and we picked our own figs, grapes, limes, peppers and tomatoes. The pool was a huge highlight, beautifully designed with both shade and sun. The location of the villa is perfect, both mountain and sea views, very peaceful and there were plenty of lovely places to eat within a 10/15 minute drive. Kostas and his family were really lovely and very helpful. This really is the perfect place to stay.

We had the most dreamy of times at the villa! Maria gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. We loved her hospitality and proactive hosting, giving us tips and recommendations of places to visit in the area. The place provided everything one could wish for, from pristine looking rooms to hammam showers, a fine gas bbq and shaded terrace, glorious swimming pool, comfy sofa and a kitchen chefs would enjoy. The surroundings are to die for. Sinuous roads and endless sea views, unique beaches, but also mountain hikes, gorges and wine tastings not far at all (car is a must). Closest taverna has delicious food. Agia Galini is a short drive away and offers all essentials should you need to shop, eat out, find an atm or go on a fishing boat trip. Thanks again for a fantastic stay! We will be back sooner than later!

We had an incredible stay with our family. The photos do not do it justice. It’s so beautiful and so peaceful. There were many lovely welcome food and drinks that we really appreciated. We had many activities and family in the area so we were out and about but were always looking forward to coming back to enjoy the house, the pool, and the gorgeous view. We also loved the hot tub when we got a little chilled from swimming since it was a bit early in season. We made sure to have a day to just do that. We used the indoor/outdoor theatre one night and that was really fun. All the rooms and the kitchen were perfectly appointed. Everything was so well thought out. We can’t wait to come again and stay longer and have time to use the outdoor kitchen, the gorgeous dining room and enjoy the beautiful pool and view again. We had a lovely stay in Crete! Our villa was so peaceful. You hardly hear any outside life. You most certainly need a car especially if you plan on moving around to see different things. The water pressure in the bathroom was amazing! The house had amazing views. Some of the best sunsets we saw. The housekeeper was always on hand for whatever you needed and responded really quickly. Overall an amazing stay.

Such an incredible home tucked away in the Cretan mountains yet close enough to some great restaurants (Maza Cafeneion just around the corner wasn't in the list of recommendations but was one of our favourite restaurants). It's a great option if you're craving nature, greenery and don't want to stick to the touristic areas. The house is spacious, clean and perfectly peaceful. Check out is at 11am however a group of 3-4 people showed up at 10.45am and came into the house to start cleaning whilst we were packing up which we found a little intrusive. Aside from that, the most amazing stay.

Both Ioanna and Spiros were great hosts. Incredibly welcoming and responsive. Nothing was too much trouble. The villa was beautiful, the views from the pool amazing and it was easy to drive to the old town within 6 minutes. The walk to the beach was about 15-20 mins which we did once. I’d highly recommend this villa and the hosts. 😊

we spent a week in this villa. it is perfectly equipped, clean, modern. the heated and large pool is very pleasant. it is 10 minutes from kissamos. The host was very helpful and responsive from the beginning to the end of the stay.

We felt right at home. The incredibly lovely owners and helpers of the house have contributed to this, in combination with this great place to stay. We were overwhelmed by the island and the people from the first minute. I highly recommend getting to know this country and its people. You'll love it. Many thanks for everything! Absolutely top villa, modern, clean, quiet, all around top! From the villa you have the best view, absolutely outstanding. The only note is that the driveway is very steep, with our rented Fiat Panda we could not get up, but we could park directly in front of the driveway. We can recommend this villa to anyone who is looking for peace and relaxation, with a fantastic view. There are great, simple restaurants within walking distance.

Beautiful villa and close to good restaurants and beach. Maria and Mr.Sifis where great hosts, easy to get in touch with and really welcoming. The only downside with our stay was the grass where the sun beds where at was really high and should have been taking care of and the beds were hard. Other than that an amazing villa I would recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Kalliope — one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces and pools we’ve ever seen. The house feels like the heart of a peaceful Greek village: authentic, warm, and untouched by mass tourism. The village itself is charming, with three lovely tavernas (especially the one in the side street!), friendly locals, and a well-stocked supermarket just around the corner. The villa is full of character — a traditional Greek home with some quirks, better suited for warm summer days than cooler spring nights..The rooftop grill area is a highlight: watching the sunset from there is truly magical. Issues were resolved promptly and with great care — a special thanks to Kalliope’s wonderful parents.
