Holiday rentals with lake access in Douglas County

Great find... we loved the home (comfortable, clean, spacious), we loved the outdoors (kayaking, bonfire, fishing), and we loved the family time it have us while celebrating my daughter's graduation from UW Superior. Proximity to Duluth was perfect!

We loved our stay here. It is a stunning home and in a great location. It was peaceful and relaxing. Everything from the house to the towels and bed were done right. Best place we have stayed yet I. Duluth.

We were in awe in the moment we stepped in! The space was huge. I loved the high ceilings! Made the place feel even bigger. The big windows had nice shades and bedrooms had blackout curtains. We were a family of 7 with an infant, 2 toddlers, and 4 adults. Here were some of the big wins for us: #1. The midsize garage fit our SUV! - granted my husband always boasts about his parking skills. The alley was quite spacious and allowed for my husband to back into the garage. #2. The starter kits were great. The place was stocked with everything. It was also kid friendly with plastic silverware/plates/bowls. They even had a small selection of toys for the kids (tucked away) #3. The kitchen was well stocked - it had everything we needed to cook, pack leftovers, clean etc. #4. It had washing/drying machine - for me, little ones always present the threat of messes (poopy clothes or vomit etc) and I felt at ease knowing that I had that available Jenna was super responsive and checked in on us.

Stayed here during the winter and Dale had it plowed for us and ready to go. Fantastic view of the lake and lots of space. Very clean other than a few flies.

Great place to stay in the country of Superior, WI!

We had a wonderful stay! David was a great host. We had our dogs Cal and Mable along for the trip. Cal and Mable made a new friend Davids dog Jack. Jack was such a sweetheart. Good times were made playing in the lake and sitting around the campfire. I highly recommend.

Nancy was a fantastic host! Her home was beautiful, spotless, and just right for two. The lakefront views were stunning, especially with the beach just steps from the back door. The kitchen and pantry were well-stocked and made cooking easy. Everything about the stay, inside and out, was perfect. I'll be recommending to family and friends.

This was the perfect place for my family to stay while we visited Superior and Duluth area. Al was very friendly and responsive! We had no issues with our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Kevin’s place was incredibly clean, relaxing, and quiet for being in the middle of Canal Park! The beds were comfortable and the space seemed much bigger than in the pictures because of the very high ceilings and huge windows. Kevin’s instructions were very clear and everything you want to do in or around canal park is easily walkable! We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place if you want to be in the middle of shops, restaurants, and very quick access to the lakewalk. Thanks for hosting us, Kevin.

It’s very clean and a neat place to stay great view of the lake watched the the full moon rise out the windows. Would love to have stayed longer. We may be back.

Incredible location right over the lift bridge. Easy to get to and find. Central to restaurants and breweries and quick drives to multiple state parks. Great spot

This rental has it all for any couple who wants to experience the beauty of Lake Superior and be able to walk to just about everything in Duluth. We explored the North Shore by car during the day and the city by foot in the evening. The view is so mesmerizing it's hard to close the curtains at night and miss the early sunrise, if you're lucky you can watch a ship passing through the famous lift bridge too.

Great place to stay! The place was clean and well stocked with all the things we needed. We even cooked a few meals in the kitchen. The open living room and kitchen was very comfortable and flexible. The walk to the beach was fun. The lilacs blooming in the front yard were so incredibly fragrant. The entire vibe was incredibly relaxing even though I had to work remotely a bit while there. It was our first time to Duluth and my husband’s first time visiting Minnesota. He was very impressed with the location and walked to the lift bridge. He took some great photos. Thanks for providing the perfect place to stay in Duluth. Highly recommend.

Amazing place to stay right on the beach and in quick walking distance to canal park. Was amazing being right on the beach and being able to enjoy the beach at night and watch the ships come in. Carl was super responsive and quick to respond! Would definitely stay here again!

Absolute gem of a place! Perfect location with an incredible view of Lake Superior. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating of our short notice stay. I wish we could have stayed forever. Would be thrilled to stay at North Shore Cottages again in the future!

The cabin was comfortable and we loved the location. Its right off of a quiet beach and walking distance from the pier; it really is the best of both worlds! We highly recommend staying here. Kathy was great to work with.

The cabin matched the listing description w/2 areas to sleep (the bed and pull out futon). Its within 5-15 minutes of downtown Duluth, the canal, the lift bridge, 30 mins from Betty's pie, and less than 1 hour from two harbors, gooseberry state park, lighthouses, etc. The cabin was great/clean, except for a couple of small things the hosts are aware of, but I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Emily and Austin were great hosts - very communicative, and had great instructions for everything. Loved the vintage-y feel of the cabin, yet it had all the updates to make it comfortable and easy to use. (Before we arrived, my husband asked if it had AC, and was a little put off when I said "No, because AC isn't needed when you're right on Lake Superior" - until he experienced it. We didn't even need to open the windows to be comfortable!) Was equipped with everything we needed. Easy check in and out.

It was a great place to stay with a nice private lake that was very fun to fish. Brian was super helpful with planning and helped be ready for the idea of pontooning for the weekend, unfortunately the weather didn’t hold but it was great nonetheless!

The cabin was everything we hoped it would be and more. We walked in and instantly felt comfortable, as if we’ve been going there our entire lives. The host was also very welcoming. We will definitely be returning.
