Banyan Camp

GretaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Unique place to stay, removed from the main tourist trail in Sri Lanka. Camp has been built up over decades with plenty of spaces to relax, read books, meet fellow travellers. People of all ages staying, young couples and families alike. lots of wild life around so be prepared for that as all the rooms are open air (with mosquito nets of course). Definitely worthwhile and plenty of day activities offered by the Camp.

Banyan Camp

LauraRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We booked this stay due to close proximity to safari park, however Banyan Camp ended up being the highlight of our trip. The pictures do not give this place enough justice. The surroundings are breathtaking and living so close to nature. We loved the open bathroom concept and the hang out spots, the camp is eco and uses repurposed materials, we loved the tranquility. The design of the camp is stunning and located right on a fantastic lake, we went paddle boarding everyday, sunrise nd sunset are magical and they catered dinner on a raft. The hosts was so friendly and gave us so many recommendations. Food served at the camp is Vegetarian and some of the best food I have had, delicious.

Green House Yala

Santha arranged for us a safari which was a great experience and we've got lucky enough to see a leopard. Beside the small inconvenient everything was all right.

Such a special and memorable place. I will remember the sounds of the jungle at night most of all! We did the river excursions, floating breakfast and elephant safari all of which were amazing. Delicious food too!

Deluxe Triple Room - Owin Rose Yala Safari Hotel

JeroenRating, 5 stars4 months ago
Owin Rose is a very nice place to stay, we recommend this hotel! The following has nothing to do with the hotel, but all about the safari in Yala National Park: don’t do it! We regretted it a lot we did it because it is very very crowded, you drive in a cue of many many cars and the drivers are chasing animals if they see one and they block them with their cars from going away so all the tourist can see them. It was a sad and disappointing experience we wish we never had!

KumbukRiver Jungle Cabin

Worth every penny, that was one of the coolest stays I’ve ever had. The place was great, I would highly recommend it, it’s right beside the river which soothes the soul and Lulls you to sleep. I have to talk about the service, wow, incredible, I felt like royalty the way I was treated, and the main gentleman I believe his name was Dithu? He was beyond amazing, he went so out of his way to make me feel welcome, secure and cared for. He truly was amazing, all the staff were! As well as the main lady, I can’t remember her name! They also told me about cricket and we watched the fame while they prepared me a feast. Thankyou everyone for an incredible and memorable stay.

Private 2 Bedroom Villa bordering Yala Nation Park

Great place to stay if one is looking to go for safari…Sabirah helped us with safari tickets and jeep. Fahim who is the caretaker had cooked some delicious meals for us…my kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool. Rooms are air conditioned. If you are looking for relaxing and quiet environment kindly go for it…also as it’s close to the forest there are mosquitoes n bugs but not a big worry just carry mosquito repellent. I definitely recommend this place.
