This was our second time at the River Shack and it didn’t disappoint. Theresa is very friendly and responsive! I will recommend her place to anyone staying in the area. The river views and the garage are perfect!

Alissa’s home was just perfect. It had everything we needed for a short stay. I can see why people stay there often and longer. The beds - pillows, sheets, and mattresses - were so comfortable, and the kitchen & bathroom had everything we needed. The surrounding property made for a serene few days of reading & gazing at the river valley.

We had a great visit! Our two dogs loved watching for the bunnies and watching the cows peacefully graze across the road. We had a lovely picnic dinner under the pine tree on a beautiful night. Great area and we will be back. 😊

This is a lovely place to stay if you're ever in Viroqua. On a quiet street but walkable to everything. One person (out of 6) felt stuffy inside--maybe since it's an older house, and was able to stay elsewhere after her first night. The rest of us, usually sensitive to those things, felt fine. Overall, we loved it!

What a lovely home! It was beautifully decorated and had many modern upgrades and conveniences. Our family of 4 including two kids and our dog in addition, had a very comfortable stay! Great location close to all the attractions in La Crosse.

Tom and Julie - this is stay no. 4, and it won't be the last! We brought friends along this time, and they too, really enjoyed your lovely place and all the little thoughtful touches. Coffee cake was apprecaited, and very delicious - did I say homemade! We love the privacy, and the woods all around the property. The beds were very comfortable, and 2 couples certainly had plenty of space. Having coffee on that large porch is my favorite. Internet connection was great. Just a wonderful stay, no complaints.

Lisa's home is beautiful! Spectacular views! We met friends for an overnight stay. Lisa's place had everything we needed, we spent 90 percent of our time outdoors enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. We will definitely return for our annual get together. Thank you Lisa for an incredible experience!

There wasn’t even one missed detail when this place was made into an air bnb. They go so far above and beyond to make the stay absolutely perfect. I had the best solo weekend and can’t wait to go back! Thank you Dawn and Christine!

Sandy & Ed have a beautiful place!! We very much enjoyed our stay. Everything was super clean & organized.! The layout was great—very spacious. Staying with two young kids we appreciated the window shades & how dark the bedrooms got. One bed was very soft. The other bed was pretty firm. The kitchen & bathroom were well stocked with all the essentials. Everything was well labeled including the light switches, which was nice. Lastly, we loved the private patio space right outside the living room! We didn’t utilize the grill or fire pit, but enjoyed sitting out by the patio table both mornings soaking in the sunshine in the beautiful wooded backyard. While we did occasionally hear a little bit of upstairs noise, it was very minimal and not bothersome to us. Overall we were very impressed & would highly recommend to anyone looking for a centrally located place in LaCrosse!!

Norma Jean & Daryl are welcoming, kind hosts with an absolutely beautiful property! They were attentive to our safety as there was winter weather and helpful at every turn. My friend & I were celebrating a milestone birthday and had a perfect stay at their place.

Loved how secluded the house was. Was nice to get away from the hustle of everyday living and relax. The place had everything we needed and was cozy. The house is very secluded but the farthest park I wanted to go to was only 15min and the others were a shorter drive. I would recommend to anyone going to decorah to enjoy nature or just relax!

Unbelievable how quiet it was at this location! The road it is on might have 1 car drive by per hour during the day, with much less cars at night. Great location in the countryside with Amish bakeries and businesses nearby. It is stocked with just about all the kitchen utensils and things you need for normal cooking, including some spices and seasonings, and the bathroom is supplied with all the necessary things, with a little more. The swing on the covered porch is excellent for relaxing, and night time sleeping, as is the couch. The firewood is cut perfectly to fit in the wood stove that very adequately heats up the place. The spring water that supplies the cabin will make your skin feel great after a warm morning shower. I was not a fan of the thought of having to wake up in the middle of the night and have to take care of nighttime bathroom needs by going up and down the ladder, so I never went up to the loft. I look forward to staying there again, hopefully during a snowstorm.

There was an issue with severe weather on the way to the cabin and Missy went above and beyond to accommodate a need that made my visit a success. Her help was integral in ensuring a wonderful long weekend trip.

The pictures do not do this place justice. Everything was clean and very beautiful. There were gifts from the host and this place is very accommodating. The host is very welcoming and kind. Definitely recommend.

I absolutely loved this cabin and am excited to come back. The house is very comfortable and well stocked. The grounds are beautiful and I loved sitting on the porch and watching the birds. A note to other travelers, you can hear the road from the property (including the lovely sounds of Amish carts), but it's not constant and the cabin is extremely private. I felt right at home.

Wow, such an amazing place! The kitchen was very well-stocked, the beds were comfortable and the views spectacular! The hosts are responsive and accommodating. A solid, all-around 5 stars and I hope to be back to experience different seasons.

The cabin was great. Feels safe because there are neighbors but there are trees to block the view so you still get your privacy and you’re not out nowhere by yourself. I love the views from the cabin!

We enjoyed our weekend get away! Cozy cabin with everything you really need. Would recommend and book again if we are in the area.
