Holiday rentals with outdoor seating in Cowlitz River

We can't thank Dieter enough for such a BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING place to wind down our three week road trip. We stayed two nights and planned to spend one day around town sight seeing, but the yard was so peaceful and relaxing that we ended up just relaxing in the yard the entire time instead. The home makes it feel like you're transported to a Mediterranean hideaway both inside and out. Dieter was the perfect host. He left us alone unless we reached out to him for something. Also, when we had questions it comments about the property, he was happy to talk to us and answer our questions completely, even if they had nothing to do with it stay. I would 1000% recommend Dieter and his home to anyone looking to stay in the area. Thank you Dieter for our amazing stay!

Special place to stay. Idyllic views. Right on the river. Hot tub, swimming, Kayaks, sauna, grill, outdoor space to hang out. All spectacular. Well stocked kitchen. The only two complaints we had were that something may have been up with the gas stove (wouldn't get hot enough to boil water even when on high for upwards of an hour). Second, the listing had two rooms with king beds, and in reality there was only one room with a king. Overall, I would stay here again. Probably the nicest Airbnb I've ever had. Great place for families.

We absolutely loved this cabin in the woods - it was magnificent! It was so private - exactly what our family of 4 needed as we vacationed from our busy lives. And the hike to Duncan Falls was incredible. What an enchanting area! We will plan to visit this property again because we were so taken with the unique architecture, private space, and beautiful scenery! A true gem in the Columbia Gorge!

This home was so peaceful and welcoming!. The sound from the waterfalls was just magical! The pictures did not do it justice. The kitchen was stocked with great cookware and sharp knives. Hard to find that at most bnb’s. Every one of us said multiple times that this was the best place we have ever stayed. We will definitely be back. Thank you for being a great host, Foster!

Wonderful stay!! loved the bed and the shower the most! everything was cute, peaceful, and lots of thought into what a first timer in Portland would need.

It’s more comfortable and more beautiful than all the pictures. The river is completely visible from the living room and you can hear it all night. Within a 20 minute drive you can find amazing spots for hiking, swimming, scenic views, a few local restaurants(Pacific Northwest Pizza is amazing!), and just about anything else you would want from a location like this. If you’re willing to go an hour or two away you can get to Mt. St. Helens, the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Columbia River Gorge, and plenty more. The only hiccup we had for our stay was when we accidentally locked ourselves out and the Wi-Fi happened to be down(the provider’s issue, not our wonderful hosts’!). Thankfully someone was at the other house on the property to help us. The hosts were always very friendly and respectful of our privacy. We loved our time here so much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and fun place to get away. We hope to come back some day!

Hosts were very organized and wonderful communicators. Easy check-in / check-out process and overall great for our girls weekend away. The Troutdale home is well located — any easy drive to the airport and lots of good hiking. Few maintenance issues and outdoor area could use a little TLC, but really a beautiful spot and the hot tub was a delight. We had a private chef come to the house and it was a really good layout for it. Downtown Troutdale is super cute too.

We had a great stay! The place was spotless, well-organized, and thoughtfully maintained. The kitchen was fully equipped with high-quality appliances and utensils, making it easy to cook and feel at home. It’s located in a peaceful, well-kept neighborhood—nicely tucked away but not too remote. The host was incredibly friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend!

Cannot say enough about the wonderful experience we had staying at Rivers Retreat. It truly is a magical place right next to the Washougal River where you are surrounded by nature and can hear the peaceful river below. The hosts are more than helpful and we were grateful for their recommendations. We enjoyed watching the bald eagles and relaxing by the bonfire. The indoor space was very well kept and full of amenities. We will definitely return for another stay if ever in the area.

It is a wonderful place to stay when visiting portland. Within walking distance to take a bus to the train to get downtown. Within walking distance of a great butcher, market, parks.

We had a blast such a great place in a great area.

Our experience was fantastic. The room was cozy and very private. We were there for two days and never saw another person. This historical house was perfect for what we needed, including a fan. Would stay here any day!!! The host was great with quick and precise communication. The instructions were clear and descriptive. Again, a ten on the AirBnB scale!!!

What a serene place in a beautiful spot! We felt home right away, and if there weren't as many things to do in the area, we might have hung out more at the place, just because ... It's a gorgeous private little Island of Heaven, overlooking the river in the middle of nature. Whether you hang out inside or on the patio, you're at home. Whomever looks to escape the daily hamster wheel, that's the place to be. Hope to be back some time ...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our visit to Portland. If you just need a cute place to stay at the end of adventuring or hanging around the city, this is perfect. Super cozy and their hospitality is the best I’be had with Airbnb. You may even get greeted by some adorable cats as we did upon arrival!

Wow George’s place was awesome. I’m a single mom with two kiddos and convenience and cleanliness are my top priorities. Immediately George’s place felt very clean and was organized in a way that I didn’t have to worry about things. There were so many dishes and appliances, I just had to get groceries and could make food for us all. The washer/dryer and supplies are a huge added bonus. Everything was so clean and comfortable. George was also very responsive to any messages and when batteries ran out in a remote, brought new ones quickly. Check in and out was very easy also. Only downside which has nothing to do with George is the location is by some not so great apartments, however, the girls and I never felt unsafe; the unit is well secured and doors automatically lock which gave us peace of mind. He also has the fenced in back yard which added the the sense of security as well as generous outdoor lighting. We will definitely stay here again.

This is the second time staying in their apartment. Anytime I’m back to Portland will stay there (if available). Great location, great hosts. Great place!

The views from this place are much more beautiful than expected. The river was absolutely gorgeous. Bonus we saw a beautiful doe walking just below the house along the riverfront. We enjoyed our morning coffee watching the massive views of the river. We even saw the USS Jack H. Lucas sail by on its way home from fleet week. 💙. Go Navy!! We would definitely stay again.

This apartment is in a great location with an great view of the River. we enjoyed sitting and watching the sailboats in the evening. The kitchen was well stocked for preparing food. Checkout was easy. We would definitely stay again.

I had rented this place for my technicians since we had a job in that area. They were very accommodating and understanding when I had to extend the stay and keep the same place even though they had other wanted to rent the place.

My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. I was in the area for work and I am seriously considering returning with the family. It's a beautiful area and everything about the stay was perfect.

It was such a cozy little place perfect for me and my girlfriend. We loved the bed and bedroom, kitchen/living room was a little tight but we expected that from the description. It was an amazing place and was even more than we expected
