Blacksmith's workshop

In ancient times, the house was a blacksmith's workshop with his small adjacent home. Recently renovated in a contemporary style, it has become a two-story residence of about 80 square meters. On the ground floor is the living area with the dining table, kitchen, bathroom and a wine pantry, reached by a wooden staircase with staggered steps. A second black iron staircase leads to the intermediate mezzanine where the study is organized. The balustrade becomes the worktop and overlooks the double height. On the first floor, there are two bedrooms with an en-suite bathroom. The floors are in resin-coated concrete and part with tiles in recycled cement paste; the upper floor is finished with parquet. Particularly unique are the vintage furnishings, the lighting of the rooms and the contemporary art paintings by a young Sicilian artist-designer. The house is equipped with winter and summer air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV and dishwasher. A few kilometers away is the beach of Porto Palo (Blue Flag) with the possibility of boat trips, ultralight flights and bike rentals. Nearby, less than a 25-minute drive, you can play golf at the beautiful Golf Verdura Resort. We had a great time at Walter’s place. He was in communication with us as soon as we booked the trip. We were able to ask about parking (free right outside the apartment) and confirm we would’t drive through the ZTL. There was some construction happening in an adjacent unit which Walter warned us about as soon as they started and even offered to cancel our stay and give us a refund. We barely even noticed the construction past the beautiful view from the apartment and large balcony which we ate all our meals on. We were greeted by Walter’s associate who helped us bring our luggage up the stairs and gave us a tour of the place. The beach is gorgeous and quiet. We were there during the week in the middle of the day and there were probably 5 other people on the beach. Walter left 2 chairs, towels, and an umbrella for the beach. Walter also sent a detailed document with local recommendations including places to park and eat in the city of Sciacca. We would definitely stay again.

This “igloo” is a haven of peace. A few minutes' walk from a nice little beach. The house is superb, colorful and the garden lush. Valentina is very responsive and welcoming. I recommend it!

Lovely stay to relax and explore Sciacca and Agrigento. Would definitely recommend the Valley of the Temples if you can make it. The property is in a stunning location with great views and is incredibly private. The pool was a delight during the warm days and at night you could see many stars in the sky. We loved staying here.
