Cabin holiday rentals in Cleveland National Forest

Fantastic getaway in the mountains, next to a babbling brook, with everything you could want. Just a quick trip down to the village but far enough away that it was super quiet. I'd been dreaming of an A frame with giant windows and a patio overlooking the trees and this was exactly it. That, plus the bonus of a cozy place to watch movies and hang out inside. It was my first trip to Idyllwild and I hope to come back again to stay here.

The cabin has all the amenities, but it was such a calming environment, that just sitting together for our anniversary, listening to the sounds of the forest and feeling the pleasant breeze was enough. Of course we used the hot tub under the stars and watched a bit of Stanley Tucci's show about Italy on Hulu during breakfast, but the cabin and it's location are the best thing happening. Going to dinner in town was about 5 minutes in the car, but we liked the cabin so much, we ate and returned to spend more time together, in a place so very different from our home in San Diego. We'll have to stay longer next time. Thanks David!

The place was exactly how it was shown in the pictures, we loved the quietness and also proximity to the main center. The spa was really nice and the house was so thoughtfully designed and maintained. Would totally visit again.

We felt right at home here! It was off the beaten path but still super close to town. The AC works REALLY well downstairs but it doesn't even begin to touch the bedroom area, so bear that in mind if you're staying when it's hot. Hot tub worked great, the kitchen had everything you would need to cook, and check in/check out was smooth.

My husband and I just spent a fantastic Father's Day weekend at Lauren's house. The home is charming, decorated with comfort in mind and has all the extra details that really make a vacation home special. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked, including welcome treats, and while we didn't have little ones, there's plenty for them to do, such as games, painting, and books. For adults, there are other games, a hot tub and a great little downtown area with shops and restaurants not far away. It was so peaceful and the weather was great while we were there. Our dogs loved the fenced-in area and wandering on a leash on the unfenced part of the grounds. Lauren, the host, was very responsive and flexible with checkout. I highly recommend and hope to return!

My wife and I spent our anniversary at this lovely tree house cabin. We had wonderful weather which really made all of the exceptional views pop. The home was immaculate upon our arrival with a greeting card and lighted ambiance. The trails (3) on the property are fun to walk through. Everything we could have possibly needed was already awaiting us. The deck and bridge are absolutely amazing, and the privacy is everything we had hoped for. It felt like we were the only cabin there. The drive to the lake is so close, and in the pictures the lake appears further than it really is. The hot tub was great as well as relaxing and if we had a question, both Rick or Maria would respond immediately. The drive into town was easy and the steps on both sides of the cabin will keep you in shape. They have storage should you need it for extra luggage as the room is small, so keep it as open as you can. We highly recommend this beautiful cabin nestled on the mountain, and Rick is a wonderful host!

This is our 3rd or 4th time here- we just love this Airbnb, truly our favorite! Our doodles have such a big enclosed yard to play- with trees and lots of wildlife all around us. And the prefect view of the Tahquitz rock too! I don’t even look for other Airbnbs anymore in Idyllwild- I just message Ariya and book☺️. The home is always clean with everything we need for cooking and relaxing. I always appreciate the assorted teas from their store as well. This time, we made sure we took advantage of the hot tub after a hike and a run. The bathrobes are always appreciated and even helpful when it got a little chilly at night. Ernie Maxwell trail is just over a mile from the house and my big dog and I hiked/ran there twice- such a beautiful place to take your dog(s). Ariya and Marc are such perfect hosts- always communicating and ensuring we are enjoying our stay. I also appreciated it when Ariya messaged me that I could check in early. Thanks again Ariya! We will be back for Thanksgiving wee

Astrid was friendly and communicative and let us check in earlier which was really appreciated! Her place actually looked better than the photos and was a lovely rustic retreat. Close to town. My only regret was not utilizing the hot tub but it was scorching temps the weekend we went!

Our family loved staying in the little A Frame! Lots of homey touches & natural decor that was practical and yet beautiful. The town is walkable from the home. Very peaceful location! Host is very responsive. (People with mobility issues would have a hard time with the stairs).

Perfect weekend getaway in the mountains! This 2 bed / 2 bath home was perfect for our little family (2 adults, 10 month old & 2 dogs). Downstairs- 1 bdr, 1 bathroom, kitchen, dining & living, sliding door to patio. Upstairs - 1 bdr(no door), 1 bathroom. We brought our own pack&play crib (but we noticed this Airbnb has one too!) & set it up in the downstairs bdr. Note: we also brought our own portable blackout curtains which were much needed. The downstairs bathroom has a tub. Upstairs- the bdr doesn’t have a door but there’s a short mesh safety gate which is perfect for dogs & babies. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking. Really appreciated the secure dog run for our dogs! They had no problem going potty out there. Also something to note: there’s a lot of noise outside the house including roosters, woodpeckers that peck at windows, birds and other animals that land on the roof. If you’re sensitive to noise, bring earplugs. Overall the home was clean & organized.

Such a gorgeous and peaceful, cozy cabin! Our stay was even better than we imagined :) Hosts are extremely friendly and responsive, and even gifted a birthday card. Thanks again!

Marisa and her team are very attentive to detail, conscientious, and offer a lovely getaway if you are in need of some R&R. Very convenient to the town of Idyllwild, and all the great nature attractions in the area.

Rebecca’s was very accommodating to a last minute booking and was a generous host to my self, my partner, a rambunctious boy and two dogs. It was overall a pleasant stay. Thanks again!

We had such a wonderful stay at the Wavy Pines cabin. We were so happy to find a pet-friendly home that we could bring our whippet to share the fun with. Our dog had a blast going up and down the stairs and exploring all the smells outside and experiencing his first snow! The neighborhood was so serene and quiet, we felt so relaxed and it was an easy, short walk to a national forest trail that our dog also enjoyed very much. The town is only a few mins drive away which had restaurants and grocery stores so we were short of nothing during our stay. We look forward to staying again during our next trip to Idyllwild someday!

The house is lovely, we especially enjoyed the trees and how calm and secluded it felt. The house is smartly furnished, with an intelligent and elegant attention to decoration and detail. The screened windows and doors on the upper level allowed us to be comfortable even though the weather was warm during our stay, and the downstairs bedrooms were cozy. The only real challenge with the property is that you have to carry everything up a long steep set of stairs. If you have packed heavy suitcases, or are brining food in a cooler, bear this in mind. We didn't have any problems with this, but it was a bit of a chore when we loading and unloading the car. The host makes this very clear in the listing, and we loved the place. In practice, the stairs are part of what allows the house feels so pleasantly secluded. Our visit was in June and we are definitely of a mind to visit again, perhaps during the winter when we could enjoy having a fire in the wood-burning stove.

We had a lovely and cozy weekend at the Gold Mine Cabin! Rob and Laura were very responsive and provided clear instructions to make everything easy and smooth as possible. I really enjoyed sitting out on the cute porch - so peaceful!

We absolutely love Michael and Cat’s place. This is our third time staying and love everything about the place. Great location close to town and hiking, charming and beautifully curated spaces (inside and out), and just an overall great place to chill/hang out. Super friendly hosts who are very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Vanessa and John's cabin in Idyllwild is an amazing getaway. The views are spectacular. Our first night it was raining which created the conditions for one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. My seven year old daughter referred to it as the house above the clouds. The place was well stocked, everything was well organized and clear. Place was spotless and town was just a short drive away. The only thing I will say is that it is right next to the road which does get some traffic, so not as isolated as it appears in the photos. But that is well worth the stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Aradi’s place was cozy and comfortable. The house was clean and fully stocked, with good space. The beds were very comfy and the towels were lovely and fluffy. We had a little ladies getaway and loved sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs and on the deck with our cheese and wine. Aradi messaged back promptly when I had questions before checkin. It was peaceful and quiet and I would totally stay here again!

We loved our stay at Elena’s place. It was so quaint and cozy. Country modern which is my favorite. Super clean and spot on. Very echo friendly. They gave us a welcome card and yummy chocolates, that was very sweet of them. They thought of everything and had everything you would need like your own home. The whole stay was memorable and relaxing. Even my 2 year old son enjoyed it. I would definitely stay there again and again in the future.

Arriving here was like walking into your home. It was immediately inviting, comfortable and clean. Nathan was quick to respond when I asked about bringing our two cats and he was more than happy to host them. I originally picked his cabin for the fenced in yard, but the tree top deck ended up being phenomenal! Myself, my husband and both cats spent the entire weekend on that deck enjoying the quiet and watching all the wildlife. We are already planning to stay here again and will be staying even longer next time!

We had an awesome weekend. The cabin was very clean and it was very peaceful. It was wonderful to find a place that had a fenced in yard for the pups to run around. We cooked most meals there and the kitchen was well equipped. Thank you for sharing!

A beautiful home with a beautiful view! Exactly what you would need for 3-6 people to stay. There are a set of stairs separating the lower master bedroom from the main living space/kitchen/2 upper bedrooms. You can hear movement and louder conversation from upstairs while downstairs. The master upstairs has a skylight- so a love (or dislike) for sleeping. Place had everything we needed. Location is ideal and a short walk to two great trailheads- one requiring a day permit (along the PCT) and the other scenic and lovely. Cell service is limited with WiFi a bit spotty with multiple phone users and a TV. Like others have said, water pressure for the showers is limited as it’s well water. Would recommend and would stay again!
