I cannot say enough good things about this Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The space was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had every amenity we could have needed – and then some. It truly felt like a home away from home. Don was incredibly welcoming, responsive, thoughtful and making sure our stay was comfortable from start to finish. The location was ideal – peaceful and safe, and only 10 minutes from the VT campus. We were there to celebrate our son’s graduation with our family and it was perfect. So much better than staying at a hotel! This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had, and we would return in a heartbeat. If you’re considering booking a place close to Blacksburg, don’t hesitate – it’s an absolute gem!

This place was a gem. The views were absolutely stunning—whether it was sunrise with coffee or winding down in the evening, the scenery never got old. Inside, it felt like home from the moment I walked in. Clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully put together with everything I needed. You can tell the host really cares about creating a welcoming space. That’s why we’ve rented this place in the past as well.

Host was easy to work with and responsive. If you are looking for a place to stay to ride the HMT, this is it. Well set up house, wash station, plenty of parking for trailers, easy access to almost all of the trail systems and access to the Outlaw trails. And a pool to relax in after a day riding! This will be our go to place for HMT trips!

We had an amazing stay at Sally's home! It was exactly as described and then some. We felt right at home with plenty of room for our family and no shortage of supplies! We will be booking again and suggest if you're looking for a place in the area this is it!

Great location and the pool and fire pit were the perfect amenities to end a day of riding! The host was very responsive and made planning our trip, getting trail passes, check in, and check out seamless. We couldn’t find any extra supplies at the house (ie paper towels, trash bags, etc.) so recommend bringing some of the day to day basics with you. Would definitely recommend to others!

We had a great time staying at Dwayne’s place! Beautiful views of the lake in the evenings and plenty of golf courses within a 30 minute radius. Will definitely be back!

Special VT graduation weekend made even more special with our stay at Walnut Hill Lodge. The house was immaculate and well equipped for a family retreat. The mountain views out the windows and from all the surrounding decks were spectacular. We watched the farm dogs herd sheep from one pasture to another, and appreciated the beauty of the surrounding working farm. Michelle was a great host with wonderful recommendations for the local market and waterfall hike. Thanks for a memorable stay at your property.

Quiet home in a peaceful location about 39 minutes from Virginia Tech. The home was clean and had a well appointed kitchen, including a table for six. The home had plenty of parking on the driveway.

Great location! We were only stopping overnight but the location could not be better. 5 min from the highway and plenty of restaurants super close as well.

We had such a wonderful time! The home was clean and beautiful, plenty to do there at the home and in the surrounding areas. Even with the many homes on the street, it felt private and relaxing the entire weekend. The host, Joe, was also so friendly! He gave us a tour when we got there, was extremely helpful, and he even helped us start our fire in the fire pit when he saw we were struggling. Wonderful place, great hospitality, would absolutely book this place again! Thank you Joe!

We had a great time. The home is beautiful and the view of the lake is awesome. Luis was very accommodating and communicative with us while we were there. He is a great host and I would highly recommend renting from him!! We had a fun time celebrating our son’s graduation from Virginia Tech!!

Katie was a very gracious and accommodating host who seemed to genuinely care about making me and my family feel welcome as if we were her own, and her home was dreamy, something most people won’t get to experience unless they use a platform like this one, we were very pleased with the quiet community and lakefront setting, only challenge is gravel hill road. This is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had if not for the timeline of graduating activities I would have loved to stay for an extended amount of time.

Our stay was at the woodlawn property was wonderful. The property was beautiful and crooked creek was a big hit especially with the grandsons. Rebecca was extremely informative and responded to every question and need. We will not hesitate to book this beautiful property again.... Only longer this time!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a lovely experience in our little cottage. Everything was neat and clean. Right after we arrived, a deer walked by. There is a very nice park at the end of the street. Our dogs loved walking and sniffing everywhere. The view of the lake and mountains is peaceful. People fished and picnicked . There is a pier. I saw people boating, and riding on wave runners. Draper Mercantile is nearby. The menu is tasty and there is a variety of coffees, beer and wine available. Right there is an ice cream shop called Conerys. A bike trail is right there by Draper’s.

Sam's house is super cute, well laid out and very clean. The NRV trail is right across the road and very nice to hike with family, the water views are beautiful and it was very peaceful. We would definitely stay again when we come back to the mountains!

The lodge and its hosts are amazing! Our only complaint is that our stay was too short to fully appreciate all that this lodge had to offer! My husband and I and our 8 children (ages 22, 20, 20, 18, 16, 15, 13, and 11) were visiting grandparents in the area. We had a fabulous time hiking the trails, playing poker, having a campfire, playing basketball, fishing in the creek, cooking in the kitchen, visiting with family, and taking in the amazing views. Several of the kids even said that it was good that the place didn't have great cellular service. The house is spacious with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked for any kind of cooking. We would highly recommend this home and plan to stay again soon!

We gathered here with family from NC, GA, and PA a few days after Christmas. There were 12 of us and one pet and ages ranged from 16-81 and there was plenty of space for everyone in this large home. Being winter we couldn’t take advantage of activities on the lake but there were plenty of board games and a game room that were well enjoyed by all. We highly recommend this home and Chris is a friendly and helpful host.

Our stay at the cabin was wonderful! It’s an easy drive to Sparta, NC or to Independence, VA. The views of the New River are amazing and there’s plenty of space to spread out on the property. We hosted a dinner with family that we have in the area; the deck/porch was a tranquil place to have dinner, view the river, and listen to the creek nearby. Our hosts communicated clearly, were exceptionally responsive, and are just very nice people. We hope to stay here the next time we visit the area. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

Beautiful place, I wish checkout was a bit more flexible but really enjoyed the view and had everything we needed. Host was nice and very responsive.

Our group all had an amazing time at Lakeview. We had a combo of adults and young kids. The rooms were large so our kids could stay in the room with us without it being cramped. Everyone enjoyed the MANY amenities the house including the giant game room, floats, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards beach area, and fire pit. The house was well stocked and included many items that other rentals do not. It felt like a home, and we will definitely come back! The owners were also very responsive and proactive in the communication!
