Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Christchurch Central City

Perfect location if you want to walk to stores or restaurant instead of driving. House was better than expected in terms of design and vintage look. Checking in is hard initially but I would ask for instructions beforehand and then park at the front of the Heritage if you’re coming by car, then drop the bags and park the car. Parking is very tightly spaced so be aware if you’re coming with a van. On the left side of the main entrance, there is street parking and a parking garage that you can pay for.

A really great place for our family to stay while we were away from home. The split level meant we could have our extended family on one level with our immediate family on another, so worked really well for us.

We had a great stay! The place was warm and comfortable, and the pool was a really nice bonus — it just would’ve been handy to have separate towels for it. The heat pump was a bit temperamental, but there were extra heaters available and the house stayed warm enough overall. The location was good, though without a car it would be quite a walk into town. Devon was great to deal with — she kindly dropped off dishwashing powder when she realised there was none at the property. Just a heads up that there are 45 stairs to climb, but once you're up, the view and the space make it worth it. We'd recommend staying here and would happily stay again!

We had a great stay. Very quiet, despite being very close to supermarket and restaurants. The house was very relaxing and the beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

Andrew was the most amazing host! My friend and I felt right at home. His place had the most amazing outlook off the back deck, which also had an awesome spa bath and fire pit. Andrew was an extremely helpful and responsive host, he helped us with our very late check in due to our flight arrival time, gave us great recommendations, and even drove us into the city and picked us up and gave us a little tour while we didn’t have a hire car. Andrew was so friendly and lovely to my friend and I, gave us our own space and also came to chat with us and share life stories. The bed was extremely comfortable, and both the room and bathroom were very clean and had everything we needed. Andrew even gave us a parting gift and insect repellant to take down to Queenstown for our travels. 100/10 would love to come back to stay again

Fantastic place to stay and highly recommend. Very clean and bedroom spacious and cozy. Fernanda and Andrew are both very friendly and accommodating, asked several times if I needed anything and went out of their way to live quietly; for the first few days I wondered if they even lived in the home because silent retreats are louder than this place. Location is in a nice residential area and the bus is directly across the street so easy access to get downtown. Price is very reasonable, especially considering what's included and condition of the home. Next time I'm in Christchurch I hope this place is available!

Dorine & Stuart have a lovely tranquil farm for a peaceful stay. There was plenty to do even in rainy weather like learn a wood turning project with Stuart or relax in the hammock or hot tub. Dorine's meals were tasty & a handy option in a more rural setting. She also made her therapeutic work available during my stay which made for an all round educational & pleasant experience. Michel and Jackie's house is beside the sea.The view outside the house is extremely amazing. Michel and Jackie are very warm and friendly. They almost provided everything we needed. The entire house is very clean and tidy, and it's also very convenient to park outside. This is truly the house of our dreams. If we pass by Christchurch next time, we will be back here!

We came back - I guess that says the most important: the place and their owners are just wonderful. Absolute recommendation to go there in every regard!

You couldn't ask for a better place to stay than at Tara-Jayne's. The house and grounds themselves are outstanding and the guest wing is wonderful.
