Villa holiday rentals in Chorafakia

What an absolute gem of a place! Let's start at the beginning. We were a group of 4 adults. The property owner kept us up-to-date with all needed information prior to arrival & included links for local eateries, activities & attractions to better plan our stay. We had a taxi booked from & back to the airport which worked like a dream. On our arrival, we were met by the owner, Dimitris, & his son Kostas, who gave us a quick tour of the property, pointing out key features & how to operate the electric gate before leaving us to enjoy the setting, which is right on the beach with some astonishing views. Despite being right on the beach, We didn't feel overlooked in the slightest & the infinity pool is a beautiful to spend a few hours a day. There are several restaurants in Stavros & two mini-marts a short walk away. We visited Chania one day & did a boat trip to the remote cove of Seitan, but otherwise we lazed by the pool, swam in the sea & dined like royalty. In short, perfect!

We stayed for 1 week at Megalith Villa and had an amazing holiday. From the initial communication with Andreas we felt well looked after and very confident to book. The check-in was fantastic; Andreas met us and showed us the villa explaining where everything was and how things worked (with the help of a translation app). He was super friendly. The villa was exactly as the photos show - calm, contemporary and well equipped with comfy beds, lovely shower rooms with good water pressure, and great a/c. There were also lots of lovely extras including coffee (pods & ground), tea, wine, bread, biscuits, fresh fruit, jam, honey, olive oil & Raki. Plus toiletries and dishwasher tablets/washing pods and plenty of loo rolls! The outside terrace got the sun all day and the pool was great too. Andreas allowed us to use the Villa pool towels at the beach. Location was great with beach/several lovely tavernas 5/10 mins walk. Best AirBnB we have ever stayed in: 5 stars!

Beautiful, spacious, clean, modern villa, with a friendly and responsive host

Fantastic stay in a great villa. Swimming pool on the roof is fabulous. Very well equipped property with everything you might need. Beds are really comfortable with ample air conditioning units in the rooms. Great location for touring Crete in the car, but a bit far out from Chania if you want to walk into the town. Taxis were readily available. Host is really helpful with recommendations.

We felt right at home. The incredibly lovely owners and helpers of the house have contributed to this, in combination with this great place to stay. We were overwhelmed by the island and the people from the first minute. I highly recommend getting to know this country and its people. You'll love it. Many thanks for everything! We had a very comfortable stay at the apartment. The views were absolutely stunning and truly one of the best parts of the stay. The flat was well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, including a large, functional kitchen and very comfortable beds, which made it easy to relax and feel at home. The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay — they replied quickly to messages, provided great local recommendations, and even replaced some chipped pans right away when we brought it up, which we really appreciated. While we enjoyed our stay overall, it’s worth noting that the apartment is a bit more dated than it appears in the photos. It could also benefit from a more thorough cleaning in certain areas — for example, the dishwasher filter needed attention, a few shower heads were clogged, and the window nets and grooves could use a deeper clean. That said, the comfort, views, and responsive hosts made for a great experience, and with a little extra maintenance

We had a fantastic stay! The house really exceeded our expectations – it's beautiful, well equipped and has a wonderful atmosphere. The hosts were also incredibly helpful and welcoming. Incredible location with amazing views and really good pool area. A highlight was the pizza oven, which we really enjoyed using! It's important to have a rental car, as the location is a little secluded, but it was definitely worth it. By car, it only takes a short while to reach small charming beaches, local restaurants, cozy villages, nice hiking trails and opportunities for wine tasting. The airport is about 20 minutes away, and it's about 25 minutes to the highway exit.

We immediately fell in love with this villa! The quality of absolutely everything in and around the building is extraordinary. The pictures cannot truly capture how beautiful and well-designed this place is. From the tasteful interior decor to the immaculate outdoor areas, every detail has been carefully thought out to provide both comfort and luxury. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway. We can’t wait to return!

Villa Penelope is a beautiful place where you can spend a great time in a large group. Especially the outdoor area with a large pool is outstanding, the view over the sea is unique. Giorgos was always available within a very short time. We were even able to get to the villa earlier upon request. You need a car for activities or grocery-shopping. Thanks for everything, we would definitely come back!

An absolutely fantastic stay! The villa offers a family atmosphere – we immediately felt at home. The apartments are perfectly equipped, very clean and furnished with attention to detail. The pool and the barbecue area were highlights that we used every day. We would like to especially highlight the landlord: always available, warm and incredibly helpful. He was immediately available for every question. The absolute highlight was when he prepared a traditional Cretan salad for us - a wonderful gesture that delighted us all. We really lacked nothing. If you are looking for relaxation, comfort and genuine hospitality, you have come to the right place. We can fully recommend the villa and will definitely come back!

This is a 10/10 Villa. We have travelled a lot and this is by far the best Villa we have stayed in. We were a family of 9 (5 adults and 4 children aged 2, 4, 9 and 11). The views are stunning, the pool is big, all the rooms have private bathroom. Jacuzzi is also perfect for when the sun goes down! Theo was a wonderful host helping us, giving good recommendations and suprising as with some nice gestures. This Villa really is a Gem as the name suggests. As for the surroundings - it is 100% private! For me the best part was that there is a nice local village to walk to every night. There are some amazing Tavernas/Restaurants with delicious food and reasonable prices (also a mini-market). There is also a nice beach with a good restaurant and a nice cozy beach bar - it is only a 10 minute walk from the villa. And if you rent a car then it is a 10 minute ride to the Rethymnon old town, which is also a very nice place with lots of shops and restaurants. The Villa was worth every euro!

We had the perfect stay at Villa Avrilla and Dimitris is a friendly and responsive host who helpfully navigated our complicated check in and check out requests. The Villa is very well equipped and stylish just like the photos and with plenty of lovely outdoor spaces and a great pool. The beds and showers are of high quality. A lovely welcome hamper and a bottle of wine was really appreciated. The location is fantastic, feeling very private but with shops, tavernas and a great beach just a stroll away. We would definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending to other guests.

We stayed for 1 week (4adults and 4 kids) having been to Crete a number of times before. The villa was up in the hills (you need to hire a car to get anywhere and driving on the small lanes is not for the faint hearted) but this gave us the beautiful views over the bay and a lovely sea breeze. The house was immaculate with all the essentials and mod cons including chilled filtered water from the fridge. The ice machine didn’t work so one of the team popped around with a big bag of ice the next day which we used instead. We also experienced a sandstorm (happens about once a year) with Saharan sand being deposited on everything. The cleaners were around the next morning and the pool was cleaned beautifully. The pool itself was heated to a lovely temperature so the kids could enjoy it all day and the hot tub was even warmer so the perfect place to sit and enjoy drinks. We used the outdoor built in barbecue and sat outside for dinners (great views). Karolina was very responsive! Recommend!

A lovely, luxury appartment near the beach and about 30 minutes' walk from the old town of Chania. A well-equipped, clean and beautiful appartment, but above all the warm and friendly hostess Anastasia. She guided us around the area, brought local delicacies, stocked the fridge with food and even drove us to the grocery store with her car. We really enjoyed our stay at the appartment and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. You certainly wont't be disapointed!

Despoina's villa was a beautiful, modern, pristine home with plenty of space and amenities. The pool was a wonderful addition to our stay, where we often took morning, afternoon, and night swims. Kalathas beach is a 5 minute walk away, and is a perfect for relaxing day. We highly recommend staying here for a Crete vacation.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful and very well maintained, and everything was perfectly organized. We immediately felt comfortable and were able to fully enjoy our stay. Great villa for a great group holiday. You have good opportunities to do, but you can also spend a great chill day there. Barbara was also available at any time and is always helpful to answer any remaining questions. So you can only recommend it

The stay was amazing! Amazing host and AMAZING location!! They were so helpful with telling us where to go and what to do and even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens as a welcome gift!! The views are unmatched and the pool was the best lounge area. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone going to Crete!!

The host was waiting for us at the property when we arrived. They were really welcoming and helpful. The welcome pack was excellent and meant we had everything we needed for the first evening and breakfast. The villa was perfect for us. Attention to detail was excellent too; soap, dishwasher tabs, rubbish bags, etc. Plenty of space, beautiful views and a path leading from the property (via a secure gate) directly down to a small cove with easy sea access. A previous post mentioned oil in the water in the cove but when we went on a diving/snorkling organised trip further around the cost the appearance of the water was the same and apparently this is the effect of fresh water from the mountains mixing with salt water (sweet water) giving a grainy appearance when underwater. We were able to swim from the cove around to a beach very close by. Hotel Lena is a couple of doors down with great food when we didn't feel like cooking for ourselves or just felt like a cocktail.

Amazing villa and even better than the photos - the gardens and pool area were so much larger than we expected; there was a lot of space for all 7 of us with at least 6 different outside areas to relax in, we were spoilt for choice. The views from the roof are breathtaking - everything was spotlessly clean and well looked after. It was so nice to have 3 different bathrooms to use as well as 2 different living rooms - with us being 2 families it worked out perfectly to be all together but also have our own private space at the same time. Elsa was always responsive and so helpful with local information and nothing was too much trouble. We loved this villa so much - we really felt at home and would recommend this villa 100%
