We had a lovely stay with friends! Audrey and Michel are very welcoming and friendly hosts. They took the time to explain and show us around the house upon arrival. The cottage is very beautiful, very clean and functional. It has everything for children, the environment is very peaceful and surrounded by nature. Also, the area is really beautiful. Absolutely perfect stay at Nyree and Jeff's 🌿 Two hosts as we rarely meet: human, warm, discreet, smiling, of genuine kindness. We immediately feel that we are welcomed with kindness and attention. The accommodation was impeccable: clean, comfortable, tastefully decorated, and above all exceptionally quiet. A true haven of peace. Special mention for the garden, maintained to perfection - a little corner of paradise conducive to total rest. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this rejuvenating stay. I'll be back without a second thought.

Perfect accommodation for a total rest, very pleasant. It is in the middle of several iconic places to visit, which allows you to do a lot of things in a weekend! The breakfasts we ordered are excellent, thank you again! We'll be happy to go back!

i think I've never rented such a clean place and what a pleasure! The house matches the description and even better than the photos. The kitchen equipment is top notch. We felt right at home and it's not easy! Quiet house but shops are 5 minutes away by car. We found the hot tub nice to spend the new year. Thanks to Pauline for his availability and hospitality. Relaxing and refreshing family stay. Do it again in summer for this time to take advantage of the swimming pool.

We were delighted with our weekend in this idyllic setting. The decoration is neat, the covered outdoor space with the jacuzzi is particularly pleasant and magical at night. Tranquility is preserved, the comfort of the rental is very pleasant and the location is ideal.

Beautiful place to stay if you plan to come to the Lot. The house is very beautiful, decorated with great taste and very well equipped. Birdie was very available and responded favorably to all our requests. The garden is very pleasant for dinner in the evening. We will certainly come back here if we return to the region.

Our family of 6 and our dog stayed at Le Fournet Bas for one week. The place looks even better in real life than it did in the photos - rustic charm with modern facilities. The bedrooms worked really well — boys in the twin, girls in the double and we had the “old bread oven” annex. The saltwater pool was delightful, clean and well-maintained. The barbecue area was excellent and well-used throughout our week. We would recommend renting electric bikes from the nearby FatVelo - a great way to spend a morning/day. Also Chateau de Bonaguil is very close and well worth a visit. Nearby St-Martin-le-Redon is a beautiful little village, and Puy L’Évêque is also well worth a visit. Christine and Gérard were very welcoming and helpful and resolved any little questions quickly and without any fuss. All-in-all, a fantastic place to spend a relaxing week.

the house was extremely comfortable and had a lovely fenced garden and super terrace. we enjoyed coming home there. the distance from facilities was doable with sarlat 14 mins away.

Great place for families, everything was perfect!

Very welcoming, friendly house. It seemed as if the residents had gone out for a while and would return. Everything is present and works. Very nice television room (Roland Garros). Absolutely quiet location, you only hear nature and beautiful views over the hills.

What a lovely stay with wonderful hosts. We were visiting for a wedding at Chateau La Durantie, and I am so glad we came across Michael’s place. Michael reached out in advance of our stay to align on our check-in time, and sent over many helpful recommendations for restaurants and activities during our stay. David greeted us upon arrival to give us a tour and answer any questions, and left a bottle of wine and some treats. Michael followed-up shortly after to give us more history and to see if there was anything we needed. The location itself is serene next to a river, and the house couldn’t have been nicer. It was squeaky clean, and the showers seemed new. We took advantage of the kitchen amenities to prep our meals and didn’t run into any trouble. As another reviewer shared, they are in the process of building a pool which will be great for families. We will definitely be back.

Peaceful stay under the sign of nature and authenticity, we really enjoyed it! Thank you for bringing these old buildings to life, as they have a soul. Nothing is missing in this house where we felt at home. We'll be back without any worries!

A cosy comfortable Gite in the middle of beautiful Dordogne countryside. Peaceful and quiet. Super saltwater pool all to ourselves. Comfortable deck chairs & umbrellas for shade. Comfy beds, kitchen has all mod cons & a lovely outdoor eating terrace under a large Linden tree. Catherine was extremely helpful with local tips. We did a walking tour of Bergerac (well worth visiting) & ate lunch in Chateau Les Merles (gorgeous setting & great food). I’d highly recommend this Gite for an authentic countryside Dordogne stay near Bergerac

Staying with Carl and Tara was a highlight of our road trip. Too much to say in a little review like this, but suffice it to say, you won’t regret staying here 1 bit. I’m sure we’ll be back!

The listing is very accurate, so what you read is what you get. We loved the silence, the wildlife, the solitude. No road noise, dark skies.

We stayed a week in gite des Mathieves. A beautiful gite on the edge of the cozy campsite. Own garden with hammock, BBQ and lots of privacy. Birds, butterflies, all kinds of insects that we could look at for hours. Occasionally, the 2 cats came to visit. Everything present in the gite and very clean. Everything was thought of. There were even delicious natural scents in the bathroom. Sarlat 7 km from the campsite. Very cozy city with many restaurants. On Saturdays, when there is a market, it is very busy. Then it is wonderful to return to the tranquility of the gite. On one of the outer walls was: "I am zen". Well, we certainly were after that week. Longer next time!

As an older single woman, traveling alone for the first time in my life, Hans and Jokie helped me to feel safe and cared for. They were genuine , positive and very approachable. They also gave me my privacy and dealt with questions and minor issues promptly. They had time to chat but they were not intrusive. They were perfect hosts!

Nothing to say about the place, it was perfect. Cécile and Sean had great tips. There are plenty of places to visit near the accommodation, gastronomic discoveries and pretty villages. A very nice place.

We stayed in the one bedroom property which has a perfect private patio (& BBQ) overlooking the spacious lawns and salt water pool. The online photos and description don’t really do the accommodation justice. The gite is immaculate and the attention to detail in all areas is phenomenal! From fairy lights to sun loungers, to 230 thread count Egyptian cotton linen to the pool towels, the qualities of this special little find are unrivalled. Linda & Adrian are superb hosts & passionate to ensure their guests have the best holiday experience.
