THE BEST! My first view out the small terrace was possibly the most beautiful I will ever see: a large mountainside of fields, olive and grape vineyards, quaint homes and large monasteries, winding roads and long high speed passenger trains! Inside, the design and materials of this home cannot be beat: a beautiful combination of 3000 year old history stocked full of modern comforts! Open the doors and windows and feel the breeze waft through smelling of honeysuckle and jasmine. Giovanni’s Castle on the Rock is just amazing. We especially were interested in the Orvieto tuff caves dug by the Bronze Age Etruscans. Beneath our feet were two floors of these caves, beautifully finished and lit with marble and tile floors and steps. Nearby were two more remarkable systems of caves: Il Labirinto and Della La Cava. The latter is less than a block away. Both are far better than the Orvieto Underground! Treat yourselves to this delightful discovery! It’s the perfect rest stop in a medieval city!

I have stayed at 50+ AirBnB and this was my all time favourite. Imagine staying within a castle, with an adjacent church, a great pool and the most fabolous views of the umbrian country side. Not to forget the best equipped kitchen and the best care taker Nazareno. And an actual fresco in the bedroom! Cant recommend this place enough.

Our stay at La Casa dell Abate was truly wonderful and memorable and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys beauty and comfort off the beaten path. From the moment we arrived, Allesio was welcoming, friendly, showed us around the home and offered tips on what to do. He will also offer you the opportunity for a pasta class or gourmet dinner which is prepared by their friend Francesco, in the private garden/outdoor kitchen. We really enjoyed this experience. Their home is beautifully decorated yet maintains the charm of the 16th century in which the village was built. We slept great in the peaceful surroundings and the comfortable beds with nice linens. Very nice apartment. On the one hand, in the historical center of Orvieto, on the other hand in a fairly quiet place. Perfectly located for walking in this beautiful town. Incredibly friendly owner, always in touch and very welcoming. I recommend this option for accommodation in Orvieto to everyone!

This was the finest AirBNB home that we've ever stayed in. Every room was immaculate, the views were incredible (private and among vineyards, you can see for miles), every appliance and fixture seemed new. Everything was anticipated to make the stay perfect.....a refrigerator, bathroom and shower at the beautiful pool, pool towels in each bedroom, etc. As soon as you walk into this house, you are going to go "wow", and for good reason. Francesca came and cooked us a delicious local dinner and did some light grocery shopping for us.....all for an unreasonably LOW fee. We had another chef team come in on another night. We also visited a local winery where we had a fantastic, private wine tasting tour and lunch (Tenuta Vitalonga) and followed that up with touring Orvieto and having dinner at a very unique restaurant (Le Grotte del Funaro). Make sure you have a car or are using a bus/limo service for your transportation, nothing is walkable from this beautiful private house.

We stayed seven nights in the accommodation and felt comfortable. The communication was very good and Maurizio helpful and the reception warm (including cake). The house and the surroundings are very beautiful, you have a great view of the countryside and can take small hikes from the house. There are seating areas on the terrace, in the sun and in the shade of trees. Supermarkets and Orvieto are quickly accessible by car. Excursions to Bolsena and Civita di Bagnoregio, which can be reached within half an hour's drive, are recommended. Unfortunately, we could not use the pool because the weather was still too cool. We highly recommend this property.

Lovely home and surroundings! Alessandro was a fantastic host! The wine, figs and olive oil he shared with us were wonderful. We highly recommend staying here for your Tuscan getaway!

Antonella's house was a perfect vacation spot for us. to start I must say that the pictures do not do justice to the place, being located on the hilltop, providing suggestive view in all directions. the kitchen was well equiped, the rooms were big and comfy, board games in the living room and a ball to play outside. but all this is nothing compared to the charming hospitality of Antonella and ulli that sheard products from their garden with us welcoming us with wine and cheese Thay make on the farm. this place is a jem of a vacation for kids as well. the location was also very good, 20 min from Orvieto with plenty of dining options supermarkets and we also found a lovely bakery down hill in chiconia. most recommend especially if you like the idea of airbnb being hosted by the owner who really cares for his guests.
