Fitness-friendly holiday rentals in Bird Rock, San Diego

Wonderful place in heart of San Diego, walking distance to most things downtown. I was there for a conference at the convention center, with my family. It met all my needs, would stay here again.

The apartment is located in a new building with a beautiful lobby and a lovely terrace. It’s quiet enough and conveniently close to the Gaslamp Quarter. The place is clean and features an elegant design. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped with everything you might need. Overall, the stay was extremely comfortable, with a clear sense of care for the guest’s experience. There is some construction nearby, but it didn’t cause any discomfort at all — nothing to worry about.

Charlotta was very helpful with the instructions and communicative. The apartment was perfect for our stay to watch the Padres play. Lots of walkable things to do. The apartment felt like home and was comfortable. Easy check in and checkout. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone you wants bay and city views.

The host and unit were awesome! Perfectly located in the Gaslamp District just one block away from Fifth street which was full of activities on the weekend. Easy walk to the waterfront, loved sitting on the balcony people watching, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The place was very spacious, well decorated, and had all the kitchen amenities. We cooked in 2 nights. CVS within 2 min walk and Ralph’s 7 min walk. Highly recommended and would definitely stay here again.

Overall a great place to stay. Great location and great amenities. Place was well-equipped. The traffic from the freeway can be a little noisy for light sleepers.

Everything was great, so many amenities in the unit AND the facility. Our grandson REALLY loved the arcade (all free) on the first floor. We enjoyed the pools and spas. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire facility. The BBQs were cleaned daily and spotless (like new) when used. We were in San Diego for baseball games at Petco which was right across the street! We will come again! Thank you Charles for making our annual family vacation 5 star!

Very nice, safe location! Exactly as represented. It was very clean, well stocked, and easy to check in. We also really liked the beds, which is rare for us in a vacation home. JB was quick to respond with any questions. Enjoyed watching the surfers, dolphins, and sunsets from the balcony. Would highly recommend!

Had a great stay, location was perfect and within walking range of many restaurants. Only downside was finding parking, had pay for a nearby parking garage but other than that it was fantastic.

We had an amazing stay! The apartment was spotless, and the kitchen was fully equipped—perfect for our needs. The welcome snacks were a lifesaver after our late arrival, providing breakfast for the next day. The host was incredibly responsive and attentive. Staying for a month, we especially appreciated the excellent storage solutions, which kept everything tidy and made it feel like a real home (not a hotel!). The towels, bath towels, and even beach towels were clean, soft, and much appreciated. We’d love to stay here again on our next trip to San Diego—highly recommended!

This was the second time that my family stayed at this AirBnB, and we absolutely love the condo's proximity to the beach. The condo itself is clean with all the basic essentials that you need... boogie boards, beach chairs, beach towels, and cooking supplies. Both of the times that we've stayed here the condo has been very quiet; we've never heard noise from neighbors. The condo community has several pools, hot tubs, and a tennis court plus the spectacular clubhouse with panoramic ocean views. There are lots of little coffee shops and places to walk to near the condo community and it's very family friendly. The mattresses and pillows are dated, but aside from that this condo is truly a gem.

We've just returned from a 3 week stay at this beachfront condo with many happy memories. Kirsty is an amazing host and responded to our many questions within minutes. The condo is exactly as described, bright, clean, comfortably-appointed and with elevated panoramic views of the beach. We spent many afternoons/evenings sitting on the balcony watching the waves, surfers and sunset with easy access to the massive fridge-freezer with "cold refreshments" and ice cream. The complex is well-maintained and the long-term residents take pride picking-up any litter and tidying the communal areas, in advance of the maintenance team. The main pool is heated and quiet, though there are often BBQs in the late afternoon/early evening. The condo is ideally located at the north end of Solano Beach close to the inlet with Del Mar. It's an easy walk to the shops and the Bangkok Bay restaurant, which we also highly recommend, is only one block away. We are looking at dates to return next year :-)

Stayed 4 nights with my partner and toddler and what a great place and hosts! By far the friendliest and most accommodating. Natasha made us feel right at home, ensuring we had everything we needed before check-in. Stellar communication during our stay and very responsive. The extra toilet paper and paper towels left on the doorstep helped to spot the apt too! We really appreciated the flexibility with our reservation. Asked for a late check out as our flight wasn't until 4 and Natasha was glad to help. This saved hours in the airport but most notably my son was able to finish napping which set us up for success on the way home. This stay felt more like house sitting for family/friends than a typical Airbnb. Only issue was trying to come/go with a stroller...didn't see a ramp or entrance without stairs, probably just overlooked it. Neighborhood is very walkable w/ lots to explore. Our last stop was the farmers market which was excellent too! Definitely recommend and would stay again!!!

I loved how spacious, clean and quiet the resort was. The lobby was nice as well. Things did start off bumpy with the host I checked in with, she was trying to take her lunch and her co-worker was in training so unable to check me in without help. So evidently I interrupted the lunch of said host and she was angry and let it be known. I expressed it wasn’t my fault she was having to work while on lunch but we were already checking in an hour and a half late and did not want to wait for her lunch to be over. I was not angry with the host, I understand her frustration but also, I’ve never been asked to wait to check-in until the employees lunch is over. Overall the pros outweighed the cons.

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious home! The location was perfect! Peaceful, yet close to everything we needed. The panoramic view of San Diego was absolutely stunning and made every moment feel extra special. The house itself was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with plenty of room for our family to relax. We especially appreciated the fresh veggies during our stay, such a thoughtful touch! Our dog loved the secure backyard, which made the whole experience even better. Michael was incredibly accommodating and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We truly felt at home and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a scenic, relaxing getaway in San Diego!

Felt incredibly welcomed by John and made it feel very comfortable for family of 4. Great location in a good neighborhood, quick to access to freeways for easy activities throughout city. Will definitely visit again.

Shahriyar was probably one of the best Host I’ve had, Very interactive and make sure everything was smooth and easy as possible. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone that’s in the San Diego area.

I never leave reviews, but I felt as though I had to this go around. These hosts literally thought of everything you could need and things you may even possibly have left behind you meant to bring. Going to a new place not knowing what to eat is always an issue, but they even had menus to all the surrounding restaurants as well as recommendations on what to try and where to go. If you want to be on the beach this is literally right there, there’s really not a view but being so close to it makes up for that. Thank you guys for a great stay, I will definitely be back.

Loved this place! It was very small inside the house but truthfully we spent all our time enjoying the beautiful backyard. Lizette was very accommodating and understanding about everything we asked for which is very appreciated. Would book here again.

Lila’s Place was the perfect space to host my family traveling from all corners of the US to celebrate my daughter’s graduation! It will be forever talked about at future family gatherings, because some PRICELESS memories were make! The location is walkable to the beach and we had access to beach “gear” in the home. The house is spacious inside and outside with a beautiful (large) outside wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is beautiful, spacious and well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glassware… What a bonus to have the kitchenette upstairs with a full sized refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Even with 10 people staying there, we still had a bed unused!! Speaking of beds, I only slept in the one in the apartment, but every single family member spoke of how comfy their bed was!! The host was extremely kind, accommodating and responsive!! I have only glowing reviews and the Matriarch (GMTHAD), was purring! I recommend this listing!!! Tami Shaffer

We had a wedding weekend at Coronado and since we had our infant and dogs this location was absolutely perfect to host our family. The home was comfortable and had great restaurants within walking distance. We wound definitely go back!
