Beachfront holiday rentals in Bigbury-on-Sea

Beautiful cottage right above the beach in Portwrinkle, with coastal path walks in either direction. Within easy reach of Plymouth via the Torpoint ferry. We had a lovely Easter break there.

We had a brilliant stay at this Airbnb! The property was spotless, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing break. It’s tucked away in a peaceful location, perfect if you’re looking to switch off and enjoy some quiet time. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We’d definitely come back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a calm sea side escape!

The garden flat is a very pleasent place to stay. Everything in the kitchen works well, the bathroom is lovely and the bed very comfortable. The outside space is a great space to sit and watch what's happening in the estuary. Claire is a good host, friendly and amenable. The village of Shaldon is easy to walk to, with a couple of nice pubs , and friendly people. All in all, a very nice place to spend some time.

What a treat! We had a 4 night stay in this beautiful house where every last detail has been thought about to add to your enjoyment and comfort. Everything was first class, very comfortable beds and pillows, spotless bathrooms with proper size towels, plenty of good cutlery and tableware, utensils for cooking if you wanted to cook. The house was a delight with lovely deep sofas overlooking one of the balconies to the ever changing landscape of the waters beyond. It would be hard not to enjoy whatever the weather throws at you! we had a very comfortable stay, with everything we needed. The home is peaceful and spacious with beautiful views. The Beach, Burgh island, local shops,cafe, pubs & restaurants are all within walking distance. NB arrive during day light hours as the roads leading to the house are single track and require a lot of patience and focus. We would most deffinatley visit again.

Another lovely stay at Palmdene. This place really is home from home and so comfortable. Love being able to stare out to see from both the kitchen and the living room. Everything we need is there. Great place for going onto Paignton beach (approx 10 mins) or go over the top and head to Goodrington beach, it will take a bit longer but the views are stunning. Booking again very soon.

Incredible experience...great place, very comfortable and has everything you need. The location truly is fabulous and you can hear the sea as you sleep, so relaxing. Beautiful place to stay, i can't fault it really, came for my birthday and it was a day to remember!

Our stay at Bee's was perfect. It is so quiet and well appointed we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Bee and her husband were both very welcoming and helpful. The location was very good to explore the local area. We would highly recommend it.

The lodge was very clean and had everything we needed. The location is great for exploring the whole area. Helen was flexible with arrival and check in which made the holiday less stressful with small kids! Brixham is a lovely town to stay. The site would benefit from the new clubhouse pool & bar which was opening imminently, which we missed.

A beautiful apartment! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean, stylish, and thoughtfully designed everything was. The space felt both cozy and luxurious, with tasteful decor, beautiful sea view, and all the amenities you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The location was also perfect and nice having the hotel next door. The host was incredibly welcoming and responsive, which made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. The host, Julie, was really helpful and responsive to our messages. Beautiful surroundings and the views from the chalet were incredible. We were visiting old friends and neighbours and it was an excellent base. The walk down into Shaldon along the golf course was convenient and stunning but be prepared for the walk back up!! The chalet had everything we needed and was really nicely decorated with comfy sofas and beds. Wish we were there longer and would love to go back.

This is our second stay at Atlantic View - and just as wonderful. Beautifully situated, with stunning views. A home from home - the space is very clean and well equipped. The holiday village is quiet, but with new facilities open which are lovely. Heated pool, bar and restuarant within walking distance.

Emily has a lovely caravan in a quiet spot on an otherwise busy site. The caravan felt surprisingly spacious and it was great to have that second toilet available. It was also lovely and very convenient to have the shower. The site offers a lot for families with several play areas, crazy golf and swimming pools.

This is the second year we’ve stayed here and we can’t wait to visit again. The apartment is a perfect visiting the surrounding towns and beaches. South Milton beach is literally on your doorstep with great access to the south west coastal path. The outdoor heated pool was lovely for days when the sea was just a little bit too cold and the balconies were ideal for the amazing sunsets.

Wonderful - with a beautiful sea view that made it very special. Modern, clean and nicely decorated/equipped. We stayed as four women friends and it was perfect. The only thing I would say is that if you don’t know each other well or are physically large, the space is relatively small with only the one bathroom - which is clear from the listing - but worth bearing in mind.

Had a lovely weekend stay in the caravan, just as described and in a beautiful location. Host was excellent in communicating instructions for check in. will be rebooking in the future!

Booked Driftwood for a 3 night stay to celebrate special birthday. It did not disappoint, we absolutely loved it wished we could have stayed longer. The view is beautiful and ever changing, so much interest. Lovely walks on the doorstep. Stunning trio of beaches. We had our elderly dog with us so swam twice a day on the main Bovisands beach which was was a lovely gentle 5 mins walk away. I should add that sea glass hunting on the beach immediately in front of the chalet was amazing! The chalet was warm, clean, really well equipped, lovely little kitchen, great shower, comfy bed and delightful lounge diner. Highly likely that we will be back. Thank you.

We’re a young family of 6 and stayed for 4 nights during the Summer half-term holiday. The apartment is spacious, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. It is very well located next to South Sands beach and adjacent to the Harbour Beach hotel. It was great to be able to make use of the pool & spa in the hotel. We all had a great time, and this apartment will definitely be on our shortlist for our next trip to Salcombe!

We had a wonderful stay at Talland Cliff side beach house, we stayed for two nights with our two children and Labrador, the property was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed plus a few extra touches that added to our enjoyment, the family games and the hammock were a favourite for the children and sauna was an added luxury for us :) but without a doubt sitting on the decking and watching the sea was the most relaxing and wonderful thing for us to do! The beach is 5 minutes walk down the cliff side not too difficult but the climb back up may take a little longer but absolutely worth it for the trip down to the beach, there are a couple of coastal paths within a couple of miles of the property and a couple of small eateries close by for lunch with a view. We had the most amazing week with our 4 boys at The Old Guard in May. We have been renting various properties in Hope Cove for many years. Wendy's property is now our absolute favourite!! Not only did we have fabulous weather but the location is just perfect for getting out on the kayaks etc The warm outdoor shower is brilliant for when you get back! The balcony is very large and a great space! The views from the balcony are spectacular and the sunsets incredible. The kitchen had everything you need. They utility area with washer and dryer is very useful staying with a family. The property was really well designed & clean and comfortable to stay in. Wendy had said the parking would be tight, but we got our 2 vehicles in no problem just a bit of time to go back and forth and one is a long wheelbase Mercedes Vito! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come back again! Thank you Wendy for all your messages and prompt replies when we had any questions.

Beryl’s cottage is an absolute gem. Spotlessly clean, incredibly spacious, and thoughtfully furnished, it made for one of the most comfortable stays we’ve had. The bed was exceptionally comfortable — we slept like logs — and the towels were luxuriously soft, a lovely touch that didn’t go unnoticed. The heating worked instantly and kept the whole place warm and cosy, even on cooler evenings. One of our favourite moments was sitting outside with a glass of wine, taking in the stunning beach view — truly peaceful and relaxing. We had zero issues throughout our stay, and it was a pleasure to meet Beryl herself — such a kind and welcoming host. If we had to mention one small suggestion, it would be the lounge chairs — they were a little on the firm side, and a two-seater sofa might make the space even more comfortable for relaxing indoors. That said, this didn’t take away from a fantastic experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, beachside escape.

First stay at the Old Tea Hut and have already booked to go again next year. The pictures do not do justice to the loveliness of the hut. Everything you could need is there and the space is just beautiful. Freya was always responsive to any messages and was friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to stay again 💖

Absolutely blown away to be honest. The owl houses are stunning. From the overall feel to the small details they have nailed it. fantastic location, excellent facilities, works very well for a large family,very well equipped, amazing views and well laid out property.our own back access to the quay was fab for swimming.amazing views from the window seat were fought for by our guests!! we will be coming back...
