Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Big Rideau Lake

So glad we found this amazing place! It is nestled off the road in a quiet, beautiful location. The downstairs area is spacious, with a pool table and a dart board. The electric fireplace was such a nice addition for the colder than usual evening. Penny was such a great host! Fun filled fact- the space is filled with such pretty photos. I was so interested in them that I looked up the photographer and turns out it was Penny! I ended up purchasing a few pieces and I can’t wait to add them to my space at home! I had a fantastic stay at Scott's Airbnb! He was incredibly helpful and responsive, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. When we had an issue with the pool lights in the evening, Scott promptly came over to assist, which we greatly appreciated. His communication and dedication made our experience truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend staying with Scott and would definitely book again!

Angela's place is great for a group getaway, she was helpful and easy to communicate with.

The place was beautiful, well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and offered stunning views. Emily was a thoughtful host—she had arranged firewood for the fire pit and stocked the kitchen with a great selection of coffee and other essentials. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, making our stay even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful and cozy getaway!

Perfect Spot for a Girls’ Getaway! Four of us girlfriends stayed here for a weekend and had the most wonderful time! The space was bright, spacious, and beautifully decorated—exactly like the photos. We loved hanging out in the cozy living area, sipping coffee on the balcony with lake views, and having our own comfortable rooms to unwind. The location was ideal—peaceful, yet close cute local cafes and shops in the neighborhood. Everything was clean, well-stocked, and felt super safe and welcoming. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend for a girls’ trip or a relaxing escape from Toronto!

This is a magical place. We spent as much time as we could on the screened in patio because of the view, wildlife and relaxation without bugs. The living space was beautiful and functional, so well stocked of essentials and more. It felt like we were visiting friends who were happy that we were there. Great communication, very welcoming. We found the location to be a nice balance of wilderness and close enough to towns for needs. It was a great spot for us as we toured through all the towns outside of Ottawa. This area of the world is beautiful. And there are no better hosts than Julie and Tony.

I recently stayed at this cozy Airbnb for 2 nights and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment I booked, the host Tony was incredibly friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Any questions I had were answered promptly, and he went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect for my stay. The place itself was just as described — warm, inviting, and spotless. The fully equipped kitchen had everything I needed, which made it so convenient to prepare meals. One of my favorite parts was the excellent patio area. It was the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy the fresh air, and make use of the BBQ — such a relaxing way to spend the evenings. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway. I’ll definitely be visiting again in the future!

Wow, what a beautiful home! Hosts were great communicators and were very thoughtful. The space was large, well appointed and very clean. We wished we could have stayed longer to use the beautiful outdoor space. Hope to return one day!

spacious clean apartment with small but full kitchen, comfortable living room and comfortable king bed. a little tricky to find .. house numbers small ... and had a bit of trouble at check in .. but Barbara was very responsive to a phone call and greeted us with the key code we needed to get in. no river view as it was fall but just a short walk from house.

We had a great stay at the loft. It really felt like a home away from home. They provide everything you might need, and even made us delicious banana bread. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. The house is right downtown and everything is within an easy walk.

Emily was a great host! Very very responsive for our questions, was able to clear a couple things up, and even offered an extended stay! The location is nice, offers basic amenities. Couldn't quite get to the water from the location due to overgrowth, but it was a quick walk across the street to do so. The train going by was loud at times, but that's obviously not the hosts doing! lol. Otherwise, a suitable spot for a place to stay when visiting. :)

Laura and Dale's Cottage was such a cozy, sunny, beautiful place nestled in a wooded lot right on the water front. We spent a week there in October and loved the wood fireplace and warmth that the cottage brought. The kitchen was charming with lots of well placed windows. Everything you needed for cooking was available. The board games were nostalgic and fun to play. The bed and bedding was so comfy and perfect for reading in the mornings. The view from the bedroom window was otherworldly especially the full moon coming across the water and the Autumn leaves were spectacularly gorgeous! We cant say enough about this place. We highly recommend it and we hope to return again.

My family had the pleasure of staying here for the first week in June 2025. We had a fabulous week enjoying this fabulous cottage and its surroundings. The inside offered us all the comfort and things we needed, including an awesome hot tub "tub" complete with rolled towels, clothes pegs and plastic glasses! Everything was exceptionally clean and there were lots of great books and games to keep us entertained as we lazed around the beautiful property. The kayaks and paddle boards were so much fun as we explored both directions on the river. Honestly the property was SO nice we hardly wanted to leave it but we did manage to get out a few days to visit Ottawa and the cute towns of Perth & Almonte. Two fabulous restaurants we visited and recommend is Joe's Italian Kitchen (In Almonte) and Michael's Table in Perth. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog Russ who had the BEST time all week enjoying the water, boats and watching the wild life from his little fur rug in sunny bay window.

My husband I used to be “locals” who lived not far from this fabulous property! We have been staying here for the last 10 years and it’s always better than the time before! It’s a beautiful peaceful unique property where we can enjoy the abundance of nature and the local wildlife. The cabin is authentic, cozy and just the amount of comfort and convenience. We can simply relax and enjoy ourselves here! Margret is a perfect host. She values our privacy at the same time makes sure we have everything we need and more! Still our favourite AirBnb experience! very private cabin and location, beautiful scenery, comfortable indoor space, super friendly, helpful hosts, and hands down the cleanest, best smelling outhouse I've ever come across. I loved the linens which were super soft, clean, and cozy. the kitchen was well equipped with complimentary coffee+sugar, mini creamer cups, dishes, stove, bbq and everything you'd need to use them. Fire pit is more secure than pictured wood provided, and kindling that lit up like matchsticks. they also make fresh maple syrup so bring $5.00 for a good size container (interaction free). not a thing missing!

I stayed in the bunkie for 5 weeks. I had a very wonderful and peaceful time . The hosts went over and above to ensure my comfort and enjoyment. The surrounding area is very quaint, lovely and historical. A gem for the region.

It's always a thrill to go to Jessica's cottage. It is always very clean and has everything you could possibly need. I enjoy the fact that I don't have to bring much with because it is all there. I would highly recommend Jessica's cottage.

Absolutely Incredible Stay! Our stay at Susan's cabin was, without a doubt, our best Airbnb experience in Canada so far and ranks right up there as one of our top staycations ever! It was the perfect long weekend getaway to completely reset and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. The green landscapes, calm, peaceful atmosphere was truly refreshing. Susan herself was an exceptional host. Her warm welcome immediately made us feel at home, and she went above and beyond by taking the time to tour us around and patiently answer all of our questions. The delicious, home-baked muffins and farm-fresh eggs waiting for us upon arrival were such a thoughtful and delightful touch! Thank you, Susan, for opening up this beautiful cabin on your property and sharing this wonderful experience with us.
