Award winning cottage! The Boat Shed has stunning views to the sea and countryside and is based on the Jurassic Coast, perfect for walking. Holidaymakers have use of the garden which looks over the South West Coast Path leading to Beer village and our beach hut (April to October). The village is just a ten minute walk away.
“Beautiful location with sunrise through to sunset views over the sparkling sea from the stunning garden; priceless! Helen and Barry had left out a Devon Cream Tea to welcome us as we arrived at the stylish and spotlessly clean property; that’s going above and beyond! The home had all the amenities we needed, including games and literature in the upstairs living room. We would definitely stay again. Walks from the front door (leave the car!) east and west with awesome cliff top views and bracing beach fun. Beer village is picture-postcard gorgeous and has everything you need in local independent shops and traditional pubs etc. Seaton is a family resort with a sweeping pebble beach, cafes, takeaways, supermarket and of course the Tramway. Both are in walking distance, but remember - what goes down must come back up ;-)”
Sunshine Cottage is a modernised period stone cottage built circa 1900 enjoying a quiet elevated position with views over the village. The cottage will sleep 6. Sunshine Cottage is located 1 minute from the main street and 4 minutes walk to the beach. Beer is an attractive historic fishing village nestling between soaring white cliffs famous for it's lace making, stone and smuggling. An ideal resort for families - clean, safe beach - rock pools - beach huts for daily or weekly hire.
“Excellent house in a great location. The house was impeccably clear with everything you could ask for. We were blessed with glorious weather, so we’re outdoors most of the time, but there were plenty of board games, dvds etc to entertain children. Would definitely stay again..”
Withycombe is a lovely, warm cottage in the heart of Beer, just 5 minutes walk from the beach. After a day exploring picturesque Beer or strolling over the cliffs to Branscombe, come home to experience the charm of your home away from home.
“A charming house, perfectly placed in Beer for walking to the beach, the 3 pubs, the deli and the fish and chip shop, and some lovely little galleries and shops. There are 2 x 30 minute parking places by the front door for unloading the car. Budget £6 a day for the car par behind the Dolphin pub (or get a week-long pass for £25 that covers East Devon - we didn't realise til day 4 that we didn't need to keep feeding the meter every 24 hours). The little patio area out at the back was secure enough to let our 2 jack Russell terriers outside without fear of them absconding and the kitchen was one of the best-equipped I've experienced with airbnb places. My 81 year old Dad was able to get up and down the stairs (which are quite steep) to the bedroom, and there was plenty of room in the house for everyone without feeling like you were on top of each other. Remember to bring your own towels, as these aren't provided. Beer is a fabulous little village with gorgeous walks to Seaton and Branscombe, you couldn't ask for a more perfect base than Withycombe Cottage or a more responsive host than Ben (with help from the lovely staff at Jean Bartlett Holidays).”
