Family-friendly holiday rentals in Avocado Heights

Yan’s place was exactly what we needed for a big family resting place. The expectations of the place were well communicated and friendly reminders were plastered all around the house to refer to on our last night and morning. Everyone had a great time, there was a point of great discomfort for me but after speaking with Yan, she assured me of a speedy solution.

Great place to stay in Pasadena! The area is so lovely. We went on walks and runs in the neighborhood saw the most beautiful estates. It was nice to be able to use the hot tub and the pool. All of Chris’ directions were easy to follow. Highly recommend!

Jan and Dale's place felt like home. When we arrived we had a nice surprise from them, snacks, a bottle of wine and fresh flowers. The neighborhood felt friendly and it was a 5 minute drive from the beach. They exceeded our expectations and we hope to return soon!

Hallgrim was a very gracious host. We were moving from another Airbnb & needed a place to stow our refrigerated food for 3 hours. He easily accommodated that & ultimately said we could just check in early. One caveat - be sure you understand the street parking protocol. It works but it can be tight, especially late at night. We always found a spot but you will need good parallel parking skills. The house is personal & eclectic & you will feel like you are staying at a good friend’s house. This is not the usual “just the basics” corporate Airbnb. It is a home. My daughter & I felt very comfortable staying here & would definitely book it again. The Canyon has a unique history. In addition to looking thru the beautiful coffee table book Hallgrim has left out for his guests to enjoy, you must watch Echo in the Canyon for an extended stroll through the musical history of this unique canyon. You’ll be singing Mamas and Papas songs on your way down to Lilly’s Cafe in no time!

Ari’s place is fantastic. I sat out in the patio every morning listening to birds and having coffee. Nice quiet cul de sac. House was exactly as photos represented. Amenities and kitchen and bathrooms were resort level. Great place and I’ll be back! Thanks Ari.

Irma’s place was great we enjoyed our stay and she is very fast at being responsive to any questions or problems you might have.

I loved my stay here at Mary’s place, and especially enjoyed spending time on the deck enjoying the sunset. Mary was a kind and courteous host and her space is private, comfortable and has everything you need to cook if desired. My only con is that you can hear the upstairs neighbor walking around quite loudly, and sometimes very late at night. Bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Otherwise, a perfect location to relax and explore the city, especially close to Atwater Village, Los Feliz, Highland Park and Echo Park.

The Studio is a fantastic place to stay and I highly recommend to fellow solo travellers. South Pasadena is a safe and walkable town with fantastic Pasadena nearby. I find the Metro line being nearby incredible to help get to places like Dodger Stadium easily. The colourful garden and the peaceful chirping of the chickens makes this place feel very homely. I can’t wait to be back in LA, and will definitely stay at the Studio again.

I can't say enough good things about this space and the host. Caroyln was so helpful, accommodating, responsive, and friendly. I had a little trouble finding the home, but her husband came out and helped, which was so nice! They both recommended places to eat and even offered to make a bed for my daughter when we had a possible room switch. Caroyln was so responsive and I had no trouble getting information needed. The room was beautiful and spotless, I honestly wish we would have booked for longer! I plan on coming back to the area many times, so I will be booking again. Thank you Caroyln for making us feel welcome and safe!

We hated to leave Ewa’s peaceful, cozy place and beautiful patio. Ewa was warm, friendly, and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. Everything was spotlessly clean, quiet, and private. The beds were super comfy and the bedrooms roomy. The best part is the patio and view. We heard at least a dozen of species of birds from the patio, walked the trail that adjoins, and enjoyed being on a quiet dead-end street that’s only 10 minutes from Occidental college. We would come back in a heartbeat!

The place was super clean and had everything we needed. Maggie was super responsive whenever we had a question. We felt right at home. We enjoyed the privacy and how safe we felt.

Loved the stay here, as soon as arrival Jamie was there for us! Definitely felt like at home, everything was just right! Close to universal for those who plan to stay close by. Would definitely come back in the future. Recommend it for anyone in general!!

Loved this home away from home! Beautiful, serene, private with everything that we could possibly need! Perfect for hanging with our family who moved in nearby! Even a visiting peacock! Loved our stay.

Best thing about this place is the location and outdoor deck/patio space with awesome view. Quiet lovely street but near lots of action of Silver Lake. The apartment itself is very nice as well.

Place was an amazing stay. The area was nice and quiet. Entrance to the place was very easy and the place has a pool and outdoor patio with a fire pit which was amazing! Beds and sheets were very comfortable and soft with an AC available. The room has a complimentary coffee station which was amazing!!! The place was clean and aesthetic! Highly suggest this place!

We want to say a huge thank you to these unbelievable hosts. Their house is incredible, they were very fast to respond to all inquiries, we desperately needed a crib and they came over to put one together for us. These are really amazing hosts with beautiful home. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for an Airbnb in LA! Thank you again!

We had a wonderful weekend birthday trip for my daughter's 6th birthday to Universal Studios, and this place was perfect for our stay, just about 10 minutes away from the park. There were five of us in total. The six-year-olds shared the XL full bed with me, my mom was comfortable in one of the other beds, and my stepson had his own single bed. The kids had a great time swimming in the pool on Friday when we arrived. Since we were mostly out and about, it was the perfect spot to come home to and rest. The girls absolutely adored Patrick's son's cat, Poppies, such a sweet and gentle kitty! Patrick was there to greet us at check-in and gave us a tour of the space. He was very kind, welcoming, and available if we needed anything. Thank you so much, Patrick, for your hospitality!
