Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Atlantic Canada

Beautiful and private. The only problem was that the weather wasn’t great for kayaking.

The location was excellent. Very private and secluded. Very calm, quiet,relaxing vibe. Binder filled with local detailed suggestions, which we really appreciated. Since it was on the chilly side we started a fire in the fireplace which was a bit of a challenge. No firestarters or paper, and no kindling in the blue Rubbermaid, nor hatchet to be found, so we spent longer than I would have liked heating the place up. It was late,so didn't reach out. Really lovely hot tub and the view in the morning was beautiful!

This is a beautiful cabin on Hayden Lake with a rustic camp feel complete with modern amenities. We loved having the wood stove to warm up on the cool mornings. For those looking for a getaway in the wilds of Guysborough county, this is a great place to do it.

My only regret is not staying longer! My family loved this airbnb. It’s the best airbnb I’ve ever stayed at! Clean, beautiful view, comfy couch, super comfortable beds, a sauna, a massive collection of games/books/toys and even records and a record player plus so many more amenities. I could go on and on about everything we loved about this place. I would go out of my way to stay here again!!

Spent 5 days for a siblings/partners get-together in March. The place was excellent for our needs. Lots of space for everyone, big bedrooms with comfy beds and very quiet between floors. The scenery was beautiful from with the spring thaw of the river underway. Nancy, our host, was very helpful and super responsive. We all said that we should come back in the summer or autumn to fully enjoy the property and surrounding area. Highly recommended.

If you’re looking for a remote landing spot as you explore Maine, this will be perfect for you. We enjoyed the peaceful ambiance, especially the hot tub, after day tripping to other places. Highly recommend you 1) visit the Hannaford grocery store in Ellsworth before you get to the house, 2) research the surrounding area for any meals out, and 3) for sure go to Acadia National Park. Watch out for deer if you return to the house after dusk.

Our stay at Wanda’s house was wonderful. The house is beautiful, well kept and has all the amenities for a very comfortable stay. I can’t say enough about the beach, sunsets, and location. Sitting on the deck and looking at the sunsets over Port Hood Island was absolutely mesmerizing. Wanda was great and responded immediately to any messages. We will definitely be going back again.

We absolutely loved staying here! It was an unbelievably beautiful place, right down to every decoration. There were detailed instructions which left us with little to no questions. Such friendly hosts, they even left me a card as I was staying to attend my university convocation. The place was peaceful and we felt safe in the area. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A wonderful victorian home renovated beautifully. The cafe downstairs is a lovely with delicious coffee and food options. Just minutes from the downtown core and all it has to offer. Additionally it's close to two amazing local breweries. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was very clean and modern, and the complimentary beers were a delicious bonus. Great location, walkable from everything downtown. And about 30 seconds away from the awesome Graystone brewery next door— but you would never know it given how quiet and private it was inside. Host was helpful and responsive when we had questions. 10/10 would stay here again!

We wanted to be in a prime location in Uptown Saint John and that's exactly what we got. The apartment itself is a wonderfully restored and bright heritage space with exposed brick and impressive wooden beams. But it also has the best comforts, including a cozy bed, excellent water pressure and a heat pump. We loved the decor and how the furniture was organized in a space efficient way. There are lots of pubs and shops in the immediate area and all kinds of great walking. We enjoyed a bite at Cask and Kettle across the street, the goodies at the bakery downstairs, and were able to enjoy a couple of beers at the dog friendly Wasted Day Brewery. The revamped waterfront area is something Saint John can really be proud of. The night life in the area is vibrant, as we expected. Instructions in the booklet in the room are clear. Only had a couple of minor questions for the host and the response time was excellent. We have family in the Saint John area and certainly hope to stay here again.

An awesome place to relax and get away from it all. We were 4 people and it was the perfect size. I think it would be a tight squeeze with more than that. Place was clean and very welcoming. I wish we could have spent longer there in nice weather to enjoy all the amenities that it had to offer. Merci, Richard.

On the Rocks is a peaceful, magical place. It is modern but cozy and extremely clean and well equipped. Jerky and Stew are responsive and friendly hosts. This was our second time here with plans to return in the future!

Melissa was super helpful and accomidating on a last minute request of a very busy long weekend. Very quick to respond to any questions. Cottage was noticeably freshly cleaned on arrival.

We stayed at Dean’s place for a family vacation. It was the perfect venue for our holiday and had absolutely everything we needed to make our stay memorable and amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a private spot on the island with beautiful surroundings and great amenities. The entire place was absolutely spotless and well maintained. Dean was an exceptional host and greeted us on the first day to show us around and answer any questions we had about the property. Thank you Dean for the wonderful hospitality and enjoyable experience!

Spent a wonderful weekend with friends for a 60th birthday celebration. This place was amazingly beautiful, spacious, and appointed with many fine touches, from decor to fully equipped kitchen, to high quality beds and linens. We didn’t want for anything while here! We relaxed by the fire, indoors and out, played some lively games of pool in the top floor games rooms, and dined like royalty while gazing at Tancook Island peeking in and out of the fog. This was our second time staying at this location, and as mentioned in the many positive reviews, this place impresses on every level. The views from ever location are stunning, and the decor is perfect. If you are a birdwatcher this place is really magical. with binoculars or ideally a spotting scope you can observe nearby colonies of Murres, Puffins, Razorbills Kittiwakes and others right from the deck. The seas below the cliffs can have closer range views of these sea birds, and the skies above the more distant islands are literally full of birds at any time of the day.

Very responsive and accommodating hosts! Villa is as advertised, the property worked really well for us as we were with a wedding with multiple others staying at the resort. It’s a short drive to lots of beaches and restaurants.
