Holiday rentals with a fire pit in Athens County

Spacious house! Lots of seating in living room. Well-equipped kitchen. Large deck with grill. Remote location, less than 15 minutes into town. Less than 5 minutes to walking trails around the lake. Greatly enjoyed our stay!

My brothers and I were in the area over Memorial weekend on our motorcycles to ride The Windy Nine motorcycle roads. This location was perfect, just outside of Athens but not too far. Quaint little cabin in the woods the also offered cover for our bikes to keep them from collecting morning dew. This small cottage offered everything we needed but bot too fancy. The only caution is finding the driveway on the initial arrival can be a bit tricky especially on motorcycles as the winding road that leads to the cottage is not too U-turn friendly for motorcycles. Overall, awesome place and we will be back!

We stayed here for our son's graduation from OU. The house was clean and well stocked, including spring water and coffee/creamers available. It was a quick ride back to campus. Overall, we were very satisfied with the experience.

My partner and I had a lovely time—we really enjoyed the space! It was so nice to get away and just focus on enjoying each other’s company. The whole experience was wonderful, and I especially loved the cozy cabin feel. Chad was incredibly helpful and very friendly, which made everything even better. Just a couple of small things to note: the toilet is a compost toilet, which took a minute to get used to—not a bad thing at all, just different. Also, the freezer was stocked with frozen meat, and we had brought our own frozen meals without checking first. It didn’t leave us much room to put stuff in there but It wasn’t a big deal though—we just ate ours frozen stuff first. All in all, I’ll 100% be back and absolutely recommend this place!

We enjoyed or stay! A very comfortable home and peaceful respite from our busy graduation weekend at OU. The home is very well equipped and comfortable. I hope to have the chance to stay again!

Sallie and Glenn's space was welcoming, a quick drive into town, and beautifully decorated. They were very proactive and thoughtful reaching out, we would absolutely stay in their beautiful home again.

Great stay at the Bobcat Bungalow. Perfect location for visiting Ohio University. House was very well organized. Loved the little extras like having cream in the refrigerator and yoga mats and games in the closet. Kay has really thought of every detail.

We were just passing through on a long drive but it was a great place to stay! The goats across the street were really cute too

We had a wonderful time at Gretchen’s place in Athens! It was private, comfortable, and beautiful inside and outside. We loved the natural light and the amazing wraparound porch. Highly recommend!

Cindy has an amazing place to stay that was easily accessible for my family. Although we had a-lot of running around for my son’s graduation, it was nice to have a place to go back to rest up. Sorry we didn’t have time to meet face to face, but Cindy answered any emails promptly. We definitely recommend Cindy’s place to our friends that have children at Ohio U and want a close place to stay in the future. If we ever plan a trip back, we w look yo book again. It's a bargain, 30 minutes to Hocking Hills, 20 mins to Athens. Only $39 a night for your own fully furnished studio . Includes kitchen and full size washer/dryer and flat screen tv. You can even build a fire out back in the fire pit if you wish. The hosts were very responsive to my needs. For comparison pricing most camping spots in Hocking Hills go for $30-40 a night. I will definitely be going back. BTW great hiking in Hocking Hills during the day and great restaurants in Athens in the nightime

We loved our time here! We enjoyed walking the beautiful property, seeing all of the flowers and gardens Natalie is growing, sitting by the pond and visiting the animals. We look forward to coming back again!

Hosts Brenda and Deborah were extremely warm, welcoming, and flexible! We were on a short trip for a graduation at Ohio University, about 12 minutes away. Due to delayed flights and 1.5 hour drive from Columbus Airport, we didn't arrive until 10:30pm, and Deb was waiting on the porch to greet us and get us settled. Very much appreciated! Communication was great, including directions (by phone) re: the country roads in the dark. The space is large, as described and seen in photos, sort of a "basement apartment" in a gorgeous area, very peaceful. The place and hosts are down-to-earth, as we had hoped, making our stay lovely and enjoyable. 😊 Thank you!

Sarah went above and beyond to meet our needs and wants. The place is absolutely amazing. We had the best time. Relaxation was the best. This gem is so secluded. Best place to get away and unplug. We will definitely be back at some point. Would love to visit this secluded gem in the fall.

We had such a great time! It rained quite a few days while we were here, but there was still plenty to do! The kids had SO much fun here on the property, ranging in ages from 3-14 so there is something for everyone to enjoy! Stores are only a few mins away which is convenient. They were very friendly, helpful, and accommodating during our stay! Great fishing here as well so I would recommend bringing poles and gear! I would 10/10 recommend to anyone and my kids want to go back already! Thank you for letting us stay!

I’m don’t usually write reviews, but we had such an exceptional experience that I felt compelled to share. This serene cozy little cabin has unexpected personal touches everywhere you look such as the homemade jarred tea, fresh cut flowers from their garden, art deco wine glasses, a hand written personal welcome note, a curated reading selection that alone makes me want to rebook just to come back. I loved visiting their chicken coop, bee hives, and looking at all of the plants and flowers in their garden. We visited on our 30th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect get away. Thank you! We will be back.

You have to stay at Camp Forever. My girlfriends and I spent a reading retreat weekend here and all walked away feeling like this was one of - if not the best airbnbs we have ever stayed at. The cabin is spacious, beds comfy, kitchen stocked and aesthetic, huge wrap around patio, amazing views, and such an amazing host. Grace was beyond responsive to any questions we had and the most responsive airbnb host i've ever had. Can't give this place enough stars and we are already planning our next stay at Camp Forever.

This was the perfect escape. The trails around the property were beautiful. The place was equipped with everything you need. The communication was great. Absolutely looking forward to coming back again.

This was our second time staying at Gary's place. The cabin has everything you could need and more. The hot tub is a great addition after a long day. It is extremely convenient to OU. We would recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. We will certainly come again.
