Very nice house with a very pretty garden in a super quiet area! We enjoyed a lot.

Great stay at Cancela House! The house is as described: charming and atypical, bucolic setting, quiet, neatly decorated, well-equipped. A small peaceful haven in the small mountain, surrounded by eucalyptus forests. It felt good there. Special mention for the very nice dining/barbecue shelter, the charming pool with views and the pretty courtyard (with great sunbeds). We loved the setting and this house! Fatima was warm and responsive. Very easy interaction. If you like authenticity, typical (and atypical at the same time) accommodations, discover this corner of the mountain, discover Arouca Geo Park (passadiços de Paiva + Arouca 516)… Go ahead!

The house is comfortable and has good spaces. The outdoor area is pleasant and has quick access to the center of Arouca and the Paiva Walkways. Judite received us and was very friendly. Marie is very attentive. We recommend it!

The house is in a beautiful, peaceful environment. Although we arrived late in the evening, the check-in was flexible, and we had a warm welcome with local food and drinks. Thanks!

Five stars aren’t enough! We loved the little house. It’s charming and unique and offers all means of comfort you could wish for. We would come back there anytime! The host himself and his parents next door are the sweetest and most caring people. Even when we had questions and problems, they all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We got support within minutes. I cannot express more how much we recommend this accomodation and how nice Bruno is. Thank you so much, this stay will be remembered 😃

Jon's place is located in the beautiful and quiet Merujal. House is very nice and seemed to be quite new, and it has everything you need. In the evenings you can admire the stars in the sky and within walking distance you can see the sunset. This is a perfect spot for visiting Serra da Freita a mountains! Jon was very helpful and gave us also recommendations of what to do and see in the area.

Fantastic place and surroundings. Listen to Patricia when she tells you that the routes are physically demanding, because they are. But they're worth it, and it's therapeutic to get into the pool after exploring the corners of the place. Don't miss the opportunity for a nice dinner in the garden after a good swim at the river beach. Patricia was fantastic, kind and helpful. I would definitely go back

Very comfortable and well furnished apartment for 4 people. There was absolutely everything needed. The private garage was a very nice extra.

Just perfect 2 min walk from restaurants and shops, just stunning views. They let us check in early at no extra costs, it was magnificent. Thank and will stay again very soon. Thank you once again.

We LOVED this place - a perfect city view from the window, vaulted ceilings made it feel even bigger (and is already spacious), beds were comfortable and the location is excellent. Alex gave us great recommendations to avoid touristy areas to eat. We would absolutely stay here again!

Fernando’s place is steps from beautiful Esmoriz beach. Active neighborhood with good restaurants. I recommend Paradoxo and the Angus burgers! Apartment was nice, functional. The washer machine and dishwasher worked well. Internet dropped out once or twice, but mostly it was good. Sometimes you can park right in front, but there is more parking with a block or two so that was good. Great location to base visits of Northern Portugal, and of course it’s a very nice beach!

Initially, we were going to stay in an apartment. But at the last minute, due to a problem in the first apartment, Zélia suggested we stay in a house on a farm. The house was much larger than the apartment, in addition to having all the comforts of the initial accommodation, we had a garden, pool and place to park the car. In short, for the same price, we enjoy a quieter and more spacious home. Zélia was available at all times and quickly answered the messages we sent her, solving any unforeseen problems. We had a good experience and if I were to stay in the area again, I would count on her to stay.

Really great apartment and location. Absolutely beautiful. Quiet and huge garden with a really nice pool. The garden is well maintained and fruit and vegetables are growing. Owners are friendly and really helpful. The apartment and kitchen are well equipped and really clean. Would definitely recommend this place and would return.

We had an absolutely incredible stay! The house is even better than the pictures, and our host could not have been more wonderful, flexible, accommodating and welcoming. A few highlights that aren’t immediately obvious: fresh bread delivery every morning, kitchen is wonderful and very easy to cook in, charcoal grill outside is fantastic - and lovely for grilling fresh fish in! (ask if fish is available from the local fish monger!). You can also easily do a day trip into Porto from this hidden paradise. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ricardo and his father Mario, or this amazing villa!

Absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back!!! Adrianne was great dropping by each morning to have a little tidy in the kitchen and make breakfast. The view of the Douro valley from poolside and the rooms was incredible. Can’t say enough good things about our stay!

Staying at Quinta dos Moinhos was truly a dream come true for us. Not only was it the perfect setting for our wedding, but the property and the views were simply unforgettable. The home is absolutely stunning and one of a kind, nestled in a peaceful and picturesque location, with breathtaking views and a rich family history. Every detail of the home is filled with character, and you can feel the care and pride that has gone into preserving the home and the surrounding nature. Diogo was an exceptional host - warm, welcoming, and incredibly responsive. He even hopped on a Facetime call so we could see the property firsthand and feel more confident about our decision! Diogo is just a genuinely kind person, and from the moment we arrived he made us feel completely at ease. His hospitality and kindness were especially meaningful during such a special time in our lives. We couldn’t ask for a more special place to celebrate, and we are already looking forward to the day we can return!
