Tinopai Station Woolshed

CarolRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Our family had a great stay at the woodshed. There was something for everyone, fishing, good long farm walks, lovely view and peaceful surroundings on the farm. The woodshed was a bit different in terms of accommodation and we loved it. For a mid winter stay, it was very warm and the beds were cosy. Lovely linen and good quality woollen blankets beneath the duvets. Fresh eggs for breakfast. A treat.

Self-contained guest house

NickRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Rays place was perfect. Great size and cosy with everything you need to settle right at home. While Ruawai may not be the most dynamic place, it’s peaceful, close to the Kauri museum (purpose of our trip for research), good if you want to fish (though I don’t) and not far if you want to visit Dargaville area, or just take time out or break your journey up. Pop down the road and see the whacky veg characters on the building at the kūmara place - sooo Kiwi! The local volunteer firefighter siren may go off (doesn’t sound for long) but take a moment to appreciate that it means some dedicated local vollies are dropping everything to respond to an emergency and keep this community safe - that’s special and quintessentially rural NZ! Would absolutely stay again if in the area. Thank you Ray and Rebecca, you are great hosts! Oh and visits by Whiskey the cat were most welcome too.

This was our second stay at the cottage and just like the first time we absolutely loved it. Anita and Patrick are amazing host and super responsive if you need anything. I definitely feel like this will be our top place to stay when travelling. Our toddler loves the amount of space is has too!

Lovely modern place in a great location. Comfortable and spacious, would happily stay there again. Friendly host which made it easy to get settled in. Good spot for local hikes and only a short drive into Whangarei.
