"Almost Heaven" lived up to its name! We would leave a 10-star rating if we could. Gary and Julie were excellent hosts, communicated extremely well and always available if we needed anything. The place is adorable and was stocked with many items to make our stay comfortable -- they even provided us breakfast foods, coffee and snacks to get us going! It was so much fun to stay in this historic cabin right across from the River Gorge National Park and a block from one of the best hiking trails in the park. We also loved the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking. Private and beautiful location and still just short 10 minute drive from restaurants, grocery stores and other other "city" needs. Absolutely one of THE BEST Airbnbs we have ever stayed at and we highly recommend "Almost Heaven".

We had an excellent vacation staying at Mark's cabin! The views from the cabin's large windows are breath taking!!! The cabin is so clean, with all the amenities provided for a relaxing time. His cabin was well organized and comfortable. We enjoyed listening to the rain in the evening, while playing board games there. The flickering of lightening bugs in the night as they lit up the mountains was beautiful. Mark was excellent with communication. The driving directions he gave were easy to follow, along with check in and check out information. We HIGHLY recommend staying at his cabin: called "Against the Wind."

The house is incredibly outrageously cool, incredibly cozy, and thematic decor! Two very excellent adult-sized beds in fun rooms, but also two shockingly comfortable cots in the basement. No complaints what-so-ever. Definitely budget something like 3 hours to do the escape room(s) It's really incredible, would be worth it for that alone. Really involved, and challenging puzzles. We basically stayed up all night to finish. Fayetteville is really quaint, and worth a visit, also a great jumping off point for so many activities. We got our fill of Mothman experiences, no small ask 😉

This is the first “glamping” Airbnb I’ve stayed at. Let me start by saying: I couldn’t have asked for more. Everything was absolutely spotless and while it’s “camping”? (Sort of) I am genuinely surprised by how clean everything was. I’m not sure what I expected but it was at least 4-5 star hotel level clean, even outdoors on the deck and the bathroom/shower area… I wasn’t necessarily looking for that but it’s surprising enough to mention. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat near New River Gorge then look no further.
