Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Alto Alentejo

We stayed at Casa Rosaria for a week and really enjoyed it. We used it as a base to explore the region and many places of interest were 30-40 minutes away in various different directions. The renovation was beautifully done and the space looks like it's straight out of the pages of a design magazine. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked with everything we needed. Sarah and Steve were friendly and knowledgeable hosts and we highly recommend Casa Rosaria at Chumbaria.

Spent three weeks in this charming house. Absolutely unique place. Situated in a hidden valley with beautiful surroundings. Lovely walks directly from the house, nothing other than natural sounds make relaxing in the garden a real pleasure and the lack of light pollution makes for stunning star gazing. Daniel is an excellent host for whom nothing is too much trouble. We loved staying here and would recommend it unreservedly.

This location was a hidden gem. The view is unmatched and the infinity pool was a bonus. It felt like a dream. Annemie was very welcoming and we loved the friendly cat! It definitely felt like our second home and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for their perfect getaway under the sun.

A casa é um sonho! Tem tudo o que é preciso! o terreno à volta e as vistas são incriveis... Fora que tem tradição e pormenores muito atentos! Acodar com o som dos passaros e rebanhos de ovelhas é de outro mundo! O espaço cá fora também está muito bem cuidado e é agradável para se estar em família ou com amigos!

Alojamento excelente para quem procura tranquilidade no campo. A Sra. Helena e o Sr. Carlos são tão incríveis e simpáticos quanto o próprio espaço. As casas são muito limpas e bem equipadas. Tivemos a oportunidade de ver as galinhas, o simpático burro Serafim e o cão Nougat. A piscina é limpa e maravilhosa. A lavandaria e as árvores de fruto são também espetaculares. Viajámos com um cão e uma criança de 2 anos e adorámos a experiência. Sem dúvida, voltaremos

Our experience was very very positive! The house is in a beautiful location with a fantastic scenery to look at, from the dining room or from the pool area (we had cold weather and rain unfortunately, the landscape was breathtaking but I am sure using the pool could be a really great experience!). From the time we met Rogerio, we felt like we were staying in a friends home. He is so thoughtful and welcoming. The place itself is charming and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place.

Every corner of Florbela’s property radiates peace, beauty, and care. And Florbela herself? An absolute gem. Since the very single morning freshly bread and local pastries delivered, to all the things she left in the house, we never had to go to any supermarket. And if you need any veggies, there’s a garden where you can go and pick up fresh veggies and herbs. If you are looking to disconnect and create memories for a lifetime, this is your place. Florbela made us feel like family, and her hospitality turned a beautiful stay into an unforgettable experience. We left not just relaxed, but with a new friend. Meeting to get the keys was easy and they worked with our changing plans. The place was great for our purposes and think if we come back we would stay again. We were visiting with family near by so we didn’t cook but we saw the kitchen was well equipped. The place was relaxing. Beds very comfortable. The only negative was when you walk in the building it smelled mildewy but the apartment was fine and no traces of a smell! Great decks too!

Lage: Hervorragend gelegen für wunderschöne Spaziergänge entlang der Küste. Ansonsten gelangt man auch mit dem Auto recht schnell nach Ericeira im Norden und Cascais im Süden. Der Sintra-Nationalpark lädt ebenfalls zu herrlichen Wanderungen ein. Wohnung: Top Wohnung, die hervorragend ausgestattet ist, allerdings etwas kleiner als auf den Bildern (für 4 Erwachsene wahrscheinlich zu klein, fur eine Familie mit 2 kleineren Kindern top). Sara: Einfach top!!! Super einfache Kommunikation und stets hilfsbereit. Remote Work: Wir haben von dort remote gearbeitet. Sara hat uns auf Nachfrage einen kleinen Schreibtisch zur Verfügung gestellt, sodass wir in separaten Zimmern arbeiten und Meetings halten konnten. Gute und stabile Internetverbindung. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die von dort remote arbeiten möchten. Fazit: Top, aber zugegebenermaßen nicht die günstigste Unterkunft in der Region.

We were a group of four friends staying over a long weekend in this apartment and I have to say just wow! The apartment is very clean and has lots of space for a group of four. AC in every room, two balconys, full equiped kitchen and a short walk from lots of happenings in the city. Artur was an amazing host with good local recommendations, friendly messages and guidance. We loved our stay here and would love to come back!

It’s really a great apartment and location (train station and restaurants just down the street). I was traveling with a friend and so it was great to each have nice rooms and also have a communal space to hang out. We enjoyed the terrace quite a lot as well. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch. It was one of the nicest @irBnB’s I have stayed at. Cipriana also was super, because she let us know the apartment was ready before the scheduled check in so we got a few extra hours on the terrace!

My partner and I started at Ricky and Diana’s for four nights and we had a lovely stay. They were very responsive and always available to answer any questions and queries. Check in was smooth and well described. The area itself of the place was well located and in close proximity to a number of restaurants and bars, as well as popular attractions such as the National Pantheon and Feira de Ladra. Our hosts did let us know beforehand of the festivities that took place each night so of course whilst it was noisy, we appreciated the heads up. We also really appreciated the port left to us and a bottle of wine which was a really nice touch. Thank you Ricky & Diana!

Excellent stay. The location was great - and the home was clean and spacious for all 5 of us (family, including 19mo old). The child-friendly toys and crib/high-chair were huge helps. The location was just around the corner from great shops and restaurants. And we hiked from the Airbnb to the top of the Pena Palace. We stayed for 2 nights, and I wish we had time to stay longer. Would highly recommend for groups that need 3 bedrooms in Sintra!

Le logement est joli, très agréable et confortable. Il est très bien situé pour profiter de la vieille ville d'Evora. Tout est accessible à pied. Catia est une hôte remarquable, elle avait laissé quelques petites attentions que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

Super séjour pour un anniversaire en groupe !! Nous étions 23, la villa est très adapté, et magnifique. Star était très attentive à ce que tout se passe parfaitement, c’est très appréciable. On a déjà envie de revenir pour un nouvel événement !!

An idyllic place to spend a week with close friends. The house was made for both relaxing in gorgeous spaces and easy exploration of the area. Meal prep for a large crowd was a breeze in the well equipped kitchen. There is a great market close by and there are several restaurants within a short distance from the house. João was an incredible host, checking in a few times to make sure we were comfortable and well supplied. We felt fortunate to have landed in such a wonderful place. Thank you João!

Amazing place to stay with incredible views. Served as an excellent stay to relax and recharge on our road trip around Portugal. The pool was great for our kids during some hot days. Perfect place to disconnect from it all and appreciate the views. The added massage option was great for the adults. The sauna was pristine and clean. Need to find something similar back home in the US.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt. Das Haus ist superschön, groß und hat alles was man braucht. Der Pool ist super. Der Blick aufs Meer ebenso super. Die Lage Praia das Macas ist ebenso top, von hier kann man viele Ausflüge in alle Richtungen machen und hat einen top Strand direkt in 10 Minuten fußläufig. 5/5 würde ich wieder buchen

Paula foi uma ótima anfitriã, adoramos a estadia, lugar calmo, ótimo para recarregar as energias! Nos sentimos em casa e ficamos muito confortáveis !

Wunderschöne Gegend mit beeindruckender Landschaft und herzlichen Menschen. Es war unser erster Aufenthalt in dieser Region Portugals – ein echter Geheimtipp! Auch die Unterkunft hat uns begeistert: sehr schön gelegen und mit dem großen Plus eines eigenen Pools. Der Gastgeber war hervorragend – dafür gibt es von uns volle 5 Sterne. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!
