Cottage holiday rentals in Allegan County

This was a perfectly place for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. Being nice and close to both Saugatuck, Douglas, and Mt. Baldhead, we did not have any issues finding something to do. While we were there too early for it to be open, the house is also close to the chain ferry, which can make getting to Saugatuck even easier. As an added bonus, we got to see some deer decently up close while relaxing in the hot tub! This was definitely a great trip!

Had a great getaway with family at this comfortable and spacious cabin. Loved the location both on the lake and its proximity to Saugatuck and Holland. The owner was very responsive when we were missing a few household items and took the time to run them to us on the same day. Would definitely stay here again. Great for families or a friend group.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. We especially appreciated the clear instructions. The small bottles in the bathroom were an especially thoughtful touch. When I had questions, the host was very responsive.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The fenced backyard and screened in porch were perfect for our two dogs who had plenty of room to run. The porch is so cute and a perfect place to hang out and read or watch your dogs sniff around in the yard. There are plenty of seating areas inside and out, with a comfy living room to watch TV. The kitchen is well-stocked and convenient for preparing a meal.

Susan was very helpful from the get go. She promptly answered our questions and even went out of her way to get us a bag of ice! Her place was a beach lovers paradise and there were countless things to do even when we just stayed at the house. We would definitely return!

We lost power at our first air bnb and needed a place to move to fairly quick. I found Brendin’s place and messaged him. He responded immediately and said we could check in as soon as needed. The place was beautiful! We didn’t get to use the outside since we were there only a couple of days and had a family Wedding one of those days. Thank you Brandin and Haley!

Dragan was an amazing host. When a problem occurred he was quick to fix it and make it better! Super responsive and a lovely place!

Highly recommend!! My favorite trip to date mostly due to Martha’s home! So private with a STUNNING view. Martha was so sweet, helpful, and welcoming. The space was well kept and clean, also very aesthetically pleasing. So many great restaurants and things to do close by as well, we went for a walk around the neighborhood which I recommend. Definitely will be back!

The little cottage was even better than the pictures. This cottage is well over 100 yrs old which is obvious with slanting floors, doors etc. The beauty of this place is how lovingly it has been restored without compromising its original form. Comfy, cozy, cheery, very clean and crisp…we couldn’t stop noticing all of the whimsical touches, like the use of a child’s artwork capturing their experiences at the cottage as part of the decor. The couch and chairs were very comfortable with plenty of reading lights. The kitchen was perfect for quick and simple prep. The beds and linen were wonderful with extra blankets plentiful. Our private deck had a perfect view of the sunset over the lake each night and the sound of waves lulled us to sleep every night. George checked in with us to make sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed. Driving into town was a quick 10 minutes. We highly recommend The Southerner for beautifully prepared and plentiful southern food! Thank you George

We had a great stay at this Airbnb! The best feature for us was the screened-in porch—we spent hours out there just relaxing with our one-month-old baby. The kitchen was excellent, with double ovens, and having a washer and dryer on-site was incredibly convenient. The location is close to all the wineries and cideries, and just a short drive to plenty of restaurants over in Fennville. We also really appreciated that a pack-and-play was provided, which gave us a safe and comfortable spot for our baby to sleep. As dog owners, we were grateful for the thoughtful touches like water bowls and a crate. It was also a nice surprise to arrive on a hot day and find the room air conditioners already running. We’d definitely stay again!

We had a lovely stay for our honeymoon! The hosts went above and beyond with a sweet note and gift welcoming us. The house is small - perfect for 2 people! We loved the privacy and having the outdoor space available. Planned to grill and had too good of a time finding restaurants to try! Place was very clean and well-maintained, plenty of towels(!), and hosts were very friendly and communicative.

Perfect private cabin in the woods. It is far enough from downtown Saugatuck to avoid traffic but close enough that we could easily run back to relieve the dog when needed. About 7 minutes from downtown Saugatuck. There were so many amenities we didn't get to use (ran out of time), but were super nice to see like the fire pit and the sauna. It is super private and very well hidden. Maybe too well hidden. My only gripe regarding our stay was the initial finding of the driveway LOL. It looks more like a trail and it is RIGHT after the guardrail nearby. But hey, you can guarantee no one will stumble upon your private stay. The interior of this studio cabin was gorgeous and super clean. Overall, we ran out of time to explore all of Saugatuck and we will definitely be using this place again the next time we visit.

Third time we’ve stayed here, it feels like staying at a second home at this point. Lisa is a fantastic host and is definitely the most responsive and proactive host I’ve met on this site.

Perfect little haven right by downtown Douglas and less than a mile and change from Saugatuck. Incredibly quiet street and very comfortable beds and couch!

Joanna’s place was the perfect getaway for our family. It was clean, had amenities for our 1 year old son and was peaceful and quiet. Additionally, she provided great info about the nearby town to include restaurants, activities, shops, etc. I would highly recommend staying at her place!

We loved the house. We loved the proximity to Holland and Saugatuck. We also loved how close we were to Crane’s and Virtue Cider. The sunroom was great. Thanks for a great time.

The cottage was lovely. The view of the Lake is unbelievable. Actually getting down to the lake is a little tough with all the stairs, but just sitting on the lawn with the view was well worth it. South Haven's main downtown was only 10 minutes away and we found plenty to do there. Julie was a great communicator. I have really no complaints!

Was the perfect getaway! Quiet neighborhood on a beautiful lake. The only thing that surprised us was the close vicinity to the neighbor’s house. The neighbors were very nice and did not bother us at all!

We booked the cottage back in December when we were dreaming of a quick summer getaway. Ashley's place did not disappoint! It was perfect for our family of four. The location is ideal. We were able to walk to the private beach easily - they beach wagon was key. Beaches, shops and restaurants in South Haven and Saugatuck were easy to get to if we needed a change of pace. The cottage provided everything we need including a great outdoor space with a firepit to make s'mores in the evening. I'd highly recommend Ashley's place if you are looking for a peaceful vacation!

The house was as listed and there were no issues. The noon checkout was very convenient.

Great, cozy little getaway house. Well appointed and decorated. Short walk to beach. Perfect midpoint between South Haven and Saugatuck. Stacey was a great host. Responsive and very easy to work with.

We had a great stay and everything was perfect. The kayaks and the fire pit were perfect for our getaway. We saw so much wildlife including a Bald Eagle that hung out with us all day. The place is conveniently located to many things to do while being a peaceful getaway from congested areas. We loved every minute of our stay and the little extras were the cherry on top!
