Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Alexander County

Perfect home on the lake for us while in town for a long weekend! We will book again next time we are in Hickory!

I am a travel nurse working a long contract and have stayed here for several months. Patsy and her husband are great hosts, super friendly, easy to contact with a quick response, and always willing to help with anything as I also work long overnight shifts. It is a very quiet location and very convenient to work. There are a lot of things to do and see not far away in surrounding towns. I would highly recommend staying here and would stay again.

Perfect place for my family and I to stay to visit my sister and her family. Very clean house comfortable beds and a great kitchen. Will definitely stay here again when I come to visit my sister.

A large, beautiful house in a lovely area of Hickory. Our party of 7 adults and 3 children were in the area for a wedding and the house was roomy enough for all of us to be comfortable. The house is furnished with everything you need for a great visit, including a well stocked kitchen. The view from the deck is gorgeous.. Diane is very responsive--any question I asked was answered immediately. We highly recommend this listing and would go back there if the occasion arose to be in Hickory again.

This place was very well-appointed. It was inviting, relaxing, had beautiful surroundings, and was the perfect place for an extended family gathering. It fit all of our needs!

I have stayed in a significant number of AirBnB properties and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this one! It is beautifully decorated, comfy, and quiet. Thank you for including things that most properties don’t include such as food wrap, plastic containers, tape, and scissors! I can tell that the owners are detail oriented! The coffee station is great! I loved the cookbooks! I will be back!

This home is one of the best we have ever stayed at. It is beautiful, well appointed and perfect in every way. So quiet and peaceful yet close to shopping and great restaurants. Easy ride to Blowing Rock and Boone. Sit on the back porch for morning coffee and enjoy the sunrise and the front porch for evening sunsets. We appreciate Amanda sharing her home. It was the perfect setting for our family visit. We will be booking this home again when we are in the Hickory area. Thank you Amanda for your hospitality.

This home is very clean and the location was so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed being by the lake. The home is beautifully decorated I would absolutely stay here again. I would also recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet getaway!

Loch Norm Lair is beautiful and relaxing. Great neighborhood. Just the peaceful week we needed. Rick and Judy are extremely friendly. Rick loves to share his boat and will take you for a ride. We sat and talked with them on several occasions and shared a dinner at a restaurant. The place is well cared for and a great deal, very reasonable pricing. It was a shame the sailboat wasn't working, would have loved a ride. We are already talking about a return trip in warmer weather to fully enjoy the water. Thank you so much for the beautiful week. 10/10 would recommend. The space was very clean and even larger than expected. I felt right at home, and I appreciated the small things that they provided to make the stay more comfortable (tissues, shampoo, hair dryer, water bottles, etc). lovely decor too.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lakefront Serenity. The view was beautiful, house cozy, and loved the friendly cats! ❤️ We felt right at home and had everything we needed. The pedal boat was fun, too.

Skylar’s place was just what I needed for my stay. As soon as I walked in, I was shocked at how big the space actually was. The bathroom was bigger than I expected and all the amenities were truly useful. Had a great stay at Skylar’s, will definitely be staying again.

Our stay here was Awesome! It's exactly what we needed. The space was lovely, beautiful, and very peaceful. I was in town handling some stressful business and I was able to escape into an oasis at Jaime's house. Thank you so much for being accommodating to me and my family.

Diane was extremely understanding and easy to work with, you can't ask for a better place to stay in the area with room to sleep 4. Note there is a half bath/laundry room and 2 couches on the first floor. The rest is on a second floor of this duplex.

Clean, beautiful and comfortable place! Attention to details was very much appreciated. Bottled water in the refrigerator. ☕️ Coffee provided. Nice bath towels. Comfortable bed. Loved the color scheme. Location was wonderful for walking downtown and to restaurants.

Initially, we were disappointed that the two single beds were in the living room (my fault for not reading the description carefully) and that we'd have to go through the bedroom to get to the bathroom, but by the second night, we were used to it. We loved having breakfast on the patio. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the view was delightful. Being able to partake in the Art of Living grounds was a definite plus. The trails were fun, and the view from the dining hall was stunning. We enjoyed our visit.

Thomas was incredibly warm and attentive, making my stay unforgettable. The place was serene, spotless, and peaceful, offering a perfect, relaxing retreat.
