Holiday rentals in Agunukolapelessa

We cannot describe how amazing our stay was. This is the best place in whole Sri Lanka. We stayed here with our 1.5y old toddler and we all loved the villa. Swimming pool is suitable for a kid and rooms are very nice and clean. Location also is great. Away from the city noise but close enough to the beach. Amazing host Kanishka drove us everywhere with his tuk tuk. We booked this place for 4 nights but we loved it here so much that we cancelled our flight and stayed 10 more days. And the best part of it is the familly who owns the villa. So kind and frendly people. They will do anything for you to make your stay unforgettable. Kanishkas mother can cook you the most amazing food. His sister and mother also babysit our toddler which was amazing. We felt like a part of their family. The kindest people we have met. There are monkeys coming by every morning and evening. Perfect additioin to superb villa. If you are visiting Sri Lanka we highly recommend this place. You will be in love.

The Box House is one of the most amazing Air BnB’s I’ve ever stayed in. In terms of design it is a unique house and the pictures capture the scale perfectly. The villa has full staffing led by the lovely Dhilan who is a great chef, concierge, butler all rolled into one. His Sri Lankan dhal, omelette, and moju are perfection! This was an RnR break for the family and Box House ticked all the boxes. The pool is HUGE and the ground lovely. Everything was on hand for us to unwind and switch off for a few days. Kasun handled all pre booking comms promptly and was very helpful. Three of the five bedrooms have their own entrance so this makes the property perfect for larger groups. I have a couple of suggestions for the hosts to elevate Box House even further. If air conditioning can be added to the main room it can increase its usability and families can have a central space to come together. Second, a small menu stating Dhilan’s specialities in Sri Lankan cuisine will be very helpful.

We had a lovely time at Lova’s place! The accommodation was beautiful and clean. Short reminder that there is no AC but with the open windows and fan the heat was manageable. The atmosphere was amazing, waking up to the sun and sounds of the forest was a dream. The location was a little remote, we rented a scooter to get to the beaches (takes ca 25 min to Hiriketiya, 15 min to Tangalle).

All I can say is wow! What stood out most to me were the amazing architecture and design of MOND, the extremely friendly and helpful owner Renato and all the staff at the cafe, and the best breakfast and coffee I had in Sri Lanka. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place, I can’t wait to come back!

Only stayed one night at Sandun's place, but a fabulous stay. Went on a great safari tour organized my the host, just a few minutes after checking it. The safari was fantastic with a guide who really knows his stuff, with a keen eye, he kept spotting the animals, that would otherwise not been noticed. After the tour we had a great srilankan dinner at the stay, and then again breakfast in the morning. Delicious!! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely fantastic and beautiful spot in a perfect location between the two beaches! The villa was absolutely idyllic as a lovely private base away from the busy beaches whilst being super convenient (a few hundred metres to each beach) and we made use of the refreshing plunge pool for a cool off every evening! The staff on site were very friendly and attentive with fresh beach towels and room cleaning daily - but they were not intrusive on privacy one bit! Also - after check out the staff found some clothing that we had left behind and kindly brought it over to us in Mirissa where we had moved on to! Talk about going above and beyond! Perfect stay. Perfect room. Perfect staff. If we are to visit Hiriketiya again in the future we will most definitely be staying at Sam and Lola’s

We had such a wonderful time staying with Sanath and his family. We immediately felt right at home. Possibly the best food we had in Sri Lanka. They cooked around 15 different curries over two dinners!! The safari was amazing, especially as Sanath is extremely knowledgeable about everything in the area. It also felt really nice to get to know Sri Lankan culture in such a nice atmosphere. Thank you!! We will be back for sure:)

I enjoyed my stay! Staying in the tree house is definitely something special, and I also ate probably the best pasta in all of Sri Lanka. The hosts also helped me with many helpful tips and generally made sure that I lacked nothing.
