We enjoyed a fantastic four days in Aris’ place, the views of the plateau and mountains are just beautiful! We felt right at home, and it was lovely to have Aris and his wife physically there at check in, a rarity these days! The images really don’t do this place justice, it is up some winding roads but we were prepared for that having visited the plateau in 2012. We can’t recommend staying here more, we really wish we’d have booked a longer stay! Aris had a fantastic hire car recommendation too, which was also great, and we had some amazing recommendations from them too. Thank you very much Aris!

The 2nd time we stayed with Christina. We felt very welcome again and at home. Our own cottage just outside the city center, near the beach: easily walkable or by city bus.

If you are looking for a very quiet location close to the sea, this is the place to be. In Sitia you will find many shops and restaurants. A Lidl is about 20 minutes away. Thank you for everything. We had a great time at Pinelopi's relaxing apartment by the beach! She gave us lots of great suggestions of places to visit and was very kinda and friendly. There are lots of great beaches nearby. We enjoyed meeting Toby the dog and having Sissi the cat hang out with us each morning. thank you again!

We had a lovely stay at the old cheese hut. The terrace had fantastic views down the valley to the sea, and we enjoyed using the outdoor barbecue in the evenings to eat outside. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking with everything you need, and the bed large and very comfortable. There are a few signs of wear such as the fly screens on the windows not all working and some broken floorboards inside. There was hot water reliably in the evening but not always in the morning. These are very minor points - overall it was a lovely trip and an ideal base for exploring eastern Crete. The owner was also very patient in waiting to meet us when we arrived later than expected due to getting lost on the way!

Andreas house was a great find! What a beautiful outlook- views over the bay and the marina with the sun rising over the villa in the morning and cool, shady balconies in the afternoon and evening. It is a 2 minute walk from a small beach with lovely cafe/bar and 2 tavernas. A few hundred metres further is the sandy Almyros beach. The centre of Agios is about a 15/20 minute walk and the bus station is also in walking distance. Lots of places to visit by bus - very easy to use and cheap too! We discovered the free city bus on the last day there! The villa is perfect for a couple but could accommodate more than 2. Very clean with a washing machine which meant we were able to travel light with a small cabin bag each. Andreas was an attentive and helpful host who was happy to provide useful local information. I would be happy to recommend this property.

As a couple staying here, we can recommend for a quiet and relaxing stay. Everything is as advertised: simple but clean. The terrace offers privacy and is surrounded by olive trees. Restaurants are on walking distance, as is the beach (20 min) if you can cope with the steep hill. As almost everywhere in Crete, a car comes in handy for any other trips.

We felt very comfortable. We spent most of our time on the patio. The apartment is practically furnished - for a simple breakfast and meal you will find everything you need. The hosts were very friendly, even provided a few small things and fruit. They also sent us a nice message with excursion tips. We immediately fell in love with Diaskari Beach - a not so crowded (at least in early June) beach, about 10 minutes away by car with a nice tavern and hammocks on the beach.

We absolutely loved this villa, Mania very kindly greeted us at Midnight as we had a late flight, and yes the reviews are right, she arrived with the most amazing moussaka and even made a vegetarian one. Mania was always available for any advice/recommendations and managed the tricky combination of being present but not intrusive. There was also a really thoughtful welcome gift of homemade food waiting for us. The kitchen was really well equipped, and super clean, we ate in a lot and enjoyed dinners on the covered terrace. We loved the pool, the kids especially, we spent a lot of time in the pool as it was very hot. The beds were comfy, the rooms all have their own bathroom, and terraces, there was lots of thoughtful touches throughout. The garden is beautiful and I don't think we managed to sit in all the different seating areas in the week. The winner for me was the decor, it was so beautiful, it was like staying in house in a Home Decor magazine. We will definitely come back.

Very nice new villa, with a great pool area. An outdoor kitchen with play area for the children is also available in the lower part of the complex. Good opportunity for activities. Not far to the beach.

What a beautiful and comfortable house! We stayed here with 8 people and each two had a nice room with bathroom (one room has a toilet and sink; no shower). The kitchen is very well equipped. All you need is here! As a result, we also cooked several times. The living room is not that big, but in Crete you almost always live outside. And that outdoor space is great! A lovely swimming pool with nice fresh water, lots of seats and sunbeds, a very large dining table, a beautiful treehouse with even more chill spots and both sun and shade. There are 3 supermarkets within walking distance, a bakery, a butcher, 3 taverns... perfect! The beach is a 1-minute walk away, is fine. More beautiful beaches can be found with a small car ride. For the larger sights and towns, you have to drive a little longer. That may be the only downside... But we'd love to come back here!

The pictures don’t do this view justice. It’s breathtaking! The home is gorgeous and the outdoor space is wonderful. It was too cold for us to swim but we still enjoyed time at the beach. Most of the immediate area was already shut down for the season during our stay but there is a lovely area about a mile walk away. We spent a lot of time there enjoying the coffee shops and restaurants. The house and rooms were fantastic and there was more than enough space for everyone to relax. The host was amazing and went above and beyond to help us when we left some glasses at a restaurant. Thank you so much for a great stay!!

We highly recommend this location. Beautiful accommodation with stunning surroundings. All the staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. The home cooked food was nothing short of fantastic. Particularly wonderful was the samples of traditional food (not on the menu) offering a real insight into local homemade dishes. The estate includes fruit trees, vegetables, walnut trees and much more. Guests are welcome to eat the fruit. A short walk takes you up into the pine forest, with shaded paths, local gardens and animals on route. Don’t pass up the opportunity to stay here!

The villa was fabulous with amazing sea and mountain views and so much more space (bigger than we expected). Very quiet which was what we wanted and so you need a car. Lovely beaches and tavernas not too far away. Host and house keeper were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Our stay was a gift of peace and tranquility in a separate apartment with its own terrace and barbecue inside the property. We felt at home. Everything was spotless and we found some extras in the kitchen (water, beer, coffee...) that we greatly appreciated. Mel and Micchael are fantastic hosts, charming, friendly and respectful. They provided us with a compendium of good recommendations for eastern Crete and also everything we needed. The shared pool was always available to us, and we fell in love with the kittens. We are very grateful to Mel and Micchael, we wish them the best. If we return to eastern Crete, we will certainly stay here again!

The villa was so beautiful, very stylish and fulfilled all of our needs for a peaceful getaway in the sun. Yannis and Zoe left lots of local treats for us to try when we arrived and the whole villa was equipped with thoughtful bits and bobs that were very handy to have! They also sent us a long list of local beach/food recommendations that was extremely useful! Etia is a lovely tiny hamlet and feels very special to have the chance to stay in, the surrounding ruins and landscape make the place private and quiet, perfect if you love nature. Thanks for a lovely stay, we'll be sure to visit again!

Our stay in Agios Ioannis at Luisa’s traditional Cretan cottage was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had! How to sum it up in one review… To start, Luisa was so friendly and helpful when it came to giving us directions to get to the remote village, a flexible check-in time, and TONS of local recommendations. The house itself was spectacular. The patio views of the mountains and sea were absolutely breathtaking and the garden was a private and lovely spot to spend our mornings in. Truly a sacred place, we felt very at home and loved the traditional charm and being so close to nature. We were still within a 15 minute drive to lots of great beaches, restaurants, markets, and hikes, despite being so high up in the mountains. Luisa provided us with everything we needed to have a very special getaway, even inviting us over for dinner in our last night. Cannot thank her enough. If you are looking for the perfect place to experience Crete, this is it! We cannot wait to return!

Very helpful and always easy to contact host. Unfortunately we experienced a technical fault with the heating, but Jan organised an electrician for the following morning and the problem was solved in less than 24 hours. It couldn't have been better managed. All in all, a fantastic place and lots of wonderful memories were made.

Villa Vido is simply amazing- a dream place!! Surrounded by olive trees in a quiet area with an amazing view of Dia island Very comfortable place with all the amenities. We spent 9 days and loved our stay there. More than an AirBnB!!

The place was perfect: very clean, well located and with air conditioning! The host is kind and his instructions and recommendations helped us a lot. I would highly recommend it! 😊

Fantastic stay at this wonderful village house in beautiful peaceful Milatos, we cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough, exactly as pictured and described , host was amazing as was the delicious meal she left for our first night! Great amenities within house too. Great location to drive through mountains to elounda and agios Nikoliaos , we went straight south to beaches there too. All the restaurants on the front were amazing bar with no name fab through to Socrates so friendly and cheap €45 for two with wine . Old neighbour we sat and had a beer with although dialect was limited. Thank you again we will be back and telling everyone to come 🥰

One of the nicest places we've stayed so far! The little house is secluded, complete tranquility & deceleration! We enjoyed the days here, the terrace under the house invites you to lie in the sun, read and enjoy the view. The view is amazing, even from bed. The path is adventurous and not for the faint of heart by car - extremely steep and more for ATVs, but we also managed with a small rental car. The kitchen is well equipped and everything you need is there. It's about a 15-minute walk to Mochlos! Very recommended to anyone looking for peace and quiet!

Maria's accommodation is located in a small village that is not touristy, if you are looking for calm and authenticity it is the ideal place. So of course we searched a little but a resident of the village kindly took us there. Apart from the apartment being very good, our hostess left us plenty of food and we thank her again for her rather exceptional generosity.
