Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Zanzibar Archipelago

The house was beautiful and modern (with fresh fruit on arrival), Rainer is readily available for any queries, Paolo was an incredible help and 15 minutes from the beach. However, this is in a rural part of Zanzibar but all in all our stay was fantastic in Rainer's home.

Our group of 5 was comfortably accommodated and spent so much time in the beautiful open treehouse upstairs. Even during the rain we were kept nice and dry upstairs. We enjoyed the food made by the private chef and all the staff were very accommodating and responsive! Visits from the dogs on the property were such a lovely addition. We felt very at home and would love to come back sometime, especially during another season when the swimming is better. Bonus - the sunsets from the gazebo around the corner from the beach were spectacular. Make sure you take advantage of the beautiful grounds and walks around the area!

Simone was a lovely host! Responded super quickly. Saïd picked us up from the airport and was always ready. Mtumwa poetse wonderful! Sparkling clean. Beds were wonderfully changed every 4 days. If electricity and water failures, there was a generator. Nice! Beach in front of the door not really clean, but a short walk and you have a nice beach. In the house an info folder with all kinds of tips for trips. You can ask the helpful Saïd as a driver, or someone else. Children from the neighborhood play in front of the door on the beach. We enjoyed it! Put your chair on the beach at 5.30 pm and look at the fishing boats that come back with their catch. The house has a lovely veranda with dining table and chairs, where you can have breakfast etc. We had a lovely stay of 4 weeks and thank Simone for the good communication! Tip: bring aea for the children. They are really poor.

My stay was simply great! The place was spotlessly clean and just as beautiful as in the photos – you immediately felt comfortable. I want to highlight Emmanuel and Kamada, the host and our favorite Massai. They were incredibly friendly, reliable and always available if I had any questions. Her warm nature made the stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend their place to anyone and would come back anytime!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay! The accommodation was clean, modern, and had all the appliances we needed. We were looking for a quiet place and this was it. We basically had the pool to ourselves and Julie was on hand to answer our many questions at the onset. She even provided the first breakfast as well as a huge watermelon and bananas, which was much appreciated. The guards made us feel extra safe, even though it's a very safe area already, and sometimes we got a visit at the pool from the nearby cat or dog, which as animal people we loved. We will most certainly be returning! What a little paradise. (PS Being able to arrange a lift from and to the airport was also really handy.) Thank you so much for a beautiful work-cation/holiday!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Cozy Bungalows. It's in a serene environment and I immediately felt at home once I arrived. The beach is just a five-minute walk away—just as stunning as Paje Beach, but peaceful and free from crowds. There are plenty of cozy spots to lounge around, and a delicious beachfront restaurant to get food at. Ijob was a welcoming host - great energy, helpful, and laid back. If the opportunity presents itself - I'll definitely be back.

Casa di Lilli is a gem! Our stay at Elisabetta's beautiful house beat all of our expectations. The location is fantastic! It is a real beach house with a wonderful deck and amazing view of the beach and sea. A perfect place where we could unwind, relax and swim in the wonderful sea. The house is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated, well taken care of and very clean. Good kitchen and kitchen utensils if you want to cook your own food. Several good and nice restaurants are right next door. Throughout the stay, we were incredibly well taken care of by Theresa, a wonderful woman who cleaned and tidy for us and was always available if we needed anything, thank you for your care! A huge thank you to Abdul for your help arranging things for us and fixing what we needed help with, as well as nice and informative conversations! Thank you Elisabetta for letting us stay in your lovely house and for a consistently very good communication! We wish we will sometime come back to this paradise. Thank you!

Had the best time in Stone Town at Jack's rooftop studio! Amazing location, beautiful terrace, clean, private, and Arsheen and Mushtaq were kind and communicative throughout our stay. Can't wait to come back!

The place was absolutely amazing and as advertised in the photos. Ann-Sofie was also very quick to respond and super helpful at all times. The place was spotless and was the perfect getaway we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to others!

We loved our stay at Soul! Our Tuk Tuk (taxi) driver knew the place, entered via a staffed gate, and dropped us off with luggage right at our condo. The place is incredible with EVERYTHING you need! Comfortable beds/pillows, hot shower, streaming TV with a REAL sofa (not a bench). The kitchen was outstanding! UNIQUE: oven and a microwave! Perfect if you want to cook a few/all of your meals while in Paje. Plus a washing machine, dishwasher, AC in every room, and a generator! All the appliances are newer and worked perfectly. Great pool view from the large patio with a hammock for relaxing with a book. The pool was huge and beautiful! There is a kiddie pool on both ends and the main pool slopes down to about 1.5M. You could do laps, but we like to do sort of a full-body pool workout - Perfect! The pool was closed a few days for maint. but Ann-Sofie our incredible 5-STAR host took care of us and recommended Ndame hotel on the beach for food/pool - we loved it! I highly recommend Soul!

It was a lovely, spacious and decorative flat. My friends and I had all the facilities we needed including a washing machine and ac. There were nice restaurants and cafes walking distance. We would definitely recommend this bnb to others.

I enjoyed my week long stay at Petra’s apartment. It was very comfortable and Petra was so kind - always proactively checking in and making sure I have everything I need for the stay. There is housekeeping every other day and laundry service available which was literally done in a couple of hours - wow! She even arranged an airport pick up and drop off at a reasonable price! Truly an amazing host. I did have some issues with cockroaches in the flat and the internet - very patchy but got 5G speeds through a local Yas SIM card instead so could work without any disruption. A note for light sleepers - the local mosque is just outside the window, so ear plugs are a must. Would highly recommend and stay again. Thanks again for hosting me, Petra 🧡

Noor’s house was the best Airbnb we stayed at during our Zanzibar trip. The interior is modern, well-kept, and cosy — perfect for two, with a spare room we used for drying laundry. I loved relaxing in the living room, looking out into the peaceful garden. Though the host wasn’t around, she was very responsive and had everything planned perfectly, from check-in to our transfer. The house is well-located, just a 10-minute walk to the beach and close to great restaurants and cafes. the host was also very responsible — she let us know in advance that the compound’s lagoon would be closed and even gave us the option to cancel. While it was a pity we couldn’t enjoy the lagoon, the thoughtful communication was much appreciated. I’ll definitely recommend this gem to friends and anyone looking for a cosy, quiet, peaceful, and calm retreat in Paje.

We had a lovely stay. Check in and out were seamless, and the area was peaceful. It was the perfect distance from Stonetown, and it had all the amenities we needed. We had a few questions regarding the apartment and appliances. The team was very responsive and resolved the inquiries we had in a timely fashion. Thank you for everything!

I can only recommend the place, from communication to booking, to transportation from the airport to the welcome and accommodation to the apartment, we were happy with everything. The family apartment provides plenty of space and excellent cooking facilities. The beds are very comfortable and the terrace is superbly adapted to relax in privacy thanks to the grown beautifully blooming bushes. Next, the generous breakfast included and 2 pools, at least one of which we had to ourselves at any time. The area is very well maintained, the pools are clean and the surroundings of the apartments are cared for. It's about a 5-minute walk to the beach, as well as the beginning of the village, where you can shop for everything you need, and also observe the local life while walking. Thank you so much to the owners and the entire staff for a great stay.

The place matched the description and photos in every way. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped with amenities that made my stay pleasant and smooth. The surrounding complex was serene and well-run. The host was responsive and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay.

I can't say enough great things about this place, and if we're ever lucky enough to return to Paje we will absolutely stay here again! The place is an apartment in what is really more like a gated community but it's also super close to everything so it's the best of the both worlds - We loved having the pool, communal working space, cafe, parking for our rented scooter, and laundry available and felt super safe because of the security. It was also really nice having a real space to make our own for the week, with a living room + tv, kitchen, and extra bedroom. The beach is a short walk away and there are tons of restaurants on the main the street that are actually better and cheaper then the beach restaurants. If you're only in Paje for a night or two and want to stay steps away from the beach or be right in the middle of the party scene, this might not be the place for you, but we saw a friends room at one of the beach clubs/hotels and were so happy we were staying here instead :)

The staff was the best part of the stay. They were amazing, especially Dan. The property is next to the beach and in the middle of a village. Seeing the African culture and way of living mixed with paradisiac views…was riveting. Several descent restaurants in the area as well. Will definitely book again.

The host Janine and Ramia were very responsive, helpful and very friendly! The location is ideal for easy local and private transportation, Stone town and the Darajani souk were 15 min by local tuktuk, supermarket and vegetable stands within walking distance and the place is a well maintained, housekeeper was provided twice weekly. We enjoyed the patio in the evening, and the neighborhood was safe and friendly. We waked to a local beach to see the sunset a few times, it was less than a mile away at Medinat Al Bahar. The hosts had great suggestions for activities and we liked the convenience of being able to prepare meals at home over our 3 week stay! I would recommend this place highly as it was outstanding and the hosts were amazing! I would definitely stay here again!
