Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Wilberforce

Our stay was more than we could have asked for. This Airbnb is a hidden gem. We’ve been to many Airbnbs all over the world, and I can tell you this one is really special. The garden is very spacious, with friendly little cows in the background. The inside is also spacious thanks to the beautiful high ceilings. The decor and original church aesthetic they kept makes you feel at home. The outdoor annex for extra guests is so cozy and cute!! it really comes in handy if you are more than two. This Airbnb truly has everything a household needs, from bug spray to doggy bags. We’re usually honest and critical about Airbnbs, and we don’t shy away from pointing out things that could be improved, but with this one, we truly have nothing bad to say. We would come back in a heartbeat!

One of the most incredible stays I’ve ever experienced in Ontario. This cottage is even better in person; beautifully decorated, impeccably clean and absolutely stunning and serene surroundings. Retreat 82 has all the amenities you could ask for and more, and our dog loved every minute of our stay too. We can’t wait to come back!

Second time staying here and would highly recommend and looking forward to staying there again!

Nortehaus is a great place for some private, peaceful time if you wanted to do indoor things. The sauna room was clean, the kitchen was big and well-stocked with kitchen equipment. It is ~30 minute drive to nearby provincial parks if you wanted to do some hikes.

We had a lovely stay at Braden’s place. The home was a perfect gateway for 2 people. Big plus for having plenty of firewood for the guests to use. The home was clean & had all the amenities for a great relaxing stay.

Great place, comfortable, relaxed, with everything that you could need. On top of a great space, Pat was always very responsive and attentive. Will definitely be staying here again.

We had a wonderful stay! Cottage was clean upon arrival with easy access. There were lots of activities to keep busy both indoor and outdoors. Lots of space to enjoy within the cottage as well. We especially enjoyed the hot tub during a cooler day!

I am working on Stoney Lake for another year and Owen's place is always my go-to! The Airbnb has an extremely large parking area for my large trucks, boats, and other equipment. It is always a pleasure to visit with the hosts and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings that their property offers. I highly recommend this Airbnb to families, contractors, and anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Kawartha's.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. Robin’s house was located very close to all the arena’s in Peterbourgh. We were there to watch our grandson play lacrosse. Hopefully they will return next year to this tournament. I will definetly be rebooking Robin’s loft. It was just as advertised. I also appreciated the selection of coffees. Beautiful and comfortable home, nicely decorated. Felt like home away from home. The place is very cozy with a great view at the river, very relaxing. I have to say it has exceeded my expectations. Judi and Dave are very responsive. I would book again in a heartbeat.

Gordana was a wonderful host. Always reactive to my messages and any questions. The place was very well maintained and had beautiful interiors. I appreciated the hospitality and little details in the apartment. Very well situated and food / cafe at walking distance. Highly recommend!

Mary Anne and Garry were absolutely wonderful hosts. They are truly wonderful people in general- friendly, warm and welcoming. Their AirBnB exceeded expectations! It was pristinely clean and also had little details and amenities that added to the comfort of our stay (like Kleenex boxes in every room, ice was ready-made in the freezer, coffee and tea, etc). It really did have the comforts of home, which is rare these days! The Breakfasts they made were lovely and delicious. Mary Anne and Garry put so much thought into everything and that made a big difference to our stay. We look forward to returning to stay again! Thank you for making us feel at home.

Great location for visiting the hospital. The unit was exactly as advertised and offered a relaxing and quiet locations to wind down. The unit was fully stocked and allowed us to prepare quick meals for the most flexibility during our stay. Fantastic, comfortable beds !! Andjela is very commnicative and excellent respose times with any questions or clarifications we needed. We really felt like our satisfaction was a priority and were never left waiting for anything. Thanks so much Andjela, we would definitely re-visit !

Our hosts Ron and Susan were very quick to respond to all queries. They were helpful and friendly. Check in was very easy and Susan showed us around the property. The property was clean and spacious with a nautical themed decor. It is as shown on the photos located on the banks of the lake. The surroundings are beautiful. A car is essential for getting around in the Huntsville area and the parking space was always available as described. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals. A large supermarket is close by (10 min) drive. This is an ideal location for exploring the beautiful Canadian countryside. We would recommend staying here. Thank you Susan and Ron

The accommodations at one time were beautiful. The house is large with many beautiful features (huge kitchen with all the amenities), large master bedroom and private en-suite, large deck with a view of the lake, and updated gas BBQ. The lake is absolutely beautiful as well. In fact, it’s one of the nicest lakes we have visited. However, the house needs a deep clean, some TLC and updating. All the screens to the doors were broken, some drawers in the kitchen were separating from their surfaces, dead bugs lay on the window sills, the floors could use a good scrub, there is a hole in the gangway to the dock, and the ladder to the dock is loose and unsafe to use. We were told there were two canoes. One was in great shape and even had seats with backs. The other should be laid to rest, as it literally was falling apart. We also found out that we could not dock a boat there because of a dispute with a neighbor. Unfortunately, the dryer broke down while we were there. We suspect that it had never been cleaned as the filter would not go in completely from all the lint and debris from years of use. We had paid for a cleaning service, but were informed a few days before arrival that the service was not available due to COVID-19 and that guests were expected to clean. The owner offered to cancel our reservation but at this late date we could not have arranged for new accommodations or for our own cleaning service. We had booked the accommodations for August. Surely, the information about the cleaning service was known months in advance since the pandemic started in February/March. The previous guests had cleaned our bathrooms and made the beds, but dishes were left in the dishwasher and on the drying rack, and tea towels and some bathroom towels were left dirty. We brought our own towels thankfully. On our last day, instead of enjoying our few remaining hours at the cottage, we spent four hours cleaning for the next guests, and quite honestly we could not do the thorough job of hired cleaning staff. The owner did reimburse us for the cleaning service, but we did not get back our time! With some TLC, repairs, and a real cleaning service, this place could have been a gem.

Christine communicated well and provided a list of all requirements. The lake and dock is absolutely perfect. A few steps down to the water but the shallow waterfront makes up for it. Awesome spots for kids to be swimming without worry. Lots of space.

David and Mimi’s place was gorgeous and had everything we needed for our stay. Great for families and kids. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the private lake. They were very communicative and responsive, generous and thoughtful. We definitely recommend this place!

Beautiful, clean, spacious, well equipped, has comfy beds and is dog friendly. Make sure to bring coffee, salt and pepper, oil, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, dishwasher pods, paper towel and a hair dryer. We enjoyed the ice rink and outdoor hot tub and some snow shoe paths on the property. It's only a 20 min drive to the Bracebridge forest management centre which has well groomed cross country and snow shoe trails, no charge. We enjoyed our stay.
